I'm not sure if anyone here is into home remodeling/construction/etc... but my DW watches HGTV all the time and I'm sitting here watching Holmes for Homes. WOW... I can't believe the kind of work some "contractors" do. I mean... I'm absolutely flabbergasted at the house I am watching right now. From the basement to the roof this one guy (who is a relative of the couple that own the house) screwed up the entire house. This is heart-wrenching to watch... but cool to see how fast Holmes fixes it.

I do construction for a living.:thumbsup2I have my own business for some 12 years now.I specialize in wheelchair accessibility.barrierfree bathrooms, kitchens, ramps, chairlifts ect.

We built about 80% of our house ourselves. It's a log home we bought from a company that used to be in NH but I'm not sure it's in existence anymore. We built it in 1984 and it's still standing although it's far from perfect. It was the first construction project we ever did so we learned a lot. We haven't seen Holmes, yet, but we do watch some of the other shows like House Virgins and House Hunters, etc. I'd like to know how so many people can afford 4200 sq ft vacation homes in Belize for $1.5 million? They must use them all of 2 weeks per year! And, I'm getting tired of hearing, "This kitchen is a little small. We're really looking for one that's at least 1000 sq ft." That's the size of our house! What am I doing wrong besides working for a living?!

It looks like we have a few inches of snow out there that came down overnight. They're still calling for us to end up with 4-8" here in the Lehigh Valley but heavier totals south towards Philly and Baltimore. My SIL brought over a snowblower yesterday afternoon! He actually got it by trading a guitar for it and it seems to work fine. Now, I won't have to shovel my 120' long driveway! It doesn't look like igloo snow but I haven't been out in it yet. Oooooohhhhhh, I wish I were visiting the Mouse! :lmao:

For you guys snowed in...

It was mid 70s and rain yesterday, mid 60s and sunny today....

Just so you guys know....:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

The snow finally arrived here during the night. We only have enough the barely cover the ground. However, there is aobout a half inch of ice under itQQ:rolleyes1 I aqm waiting for work to call and tell me to come in. Hopefully the road crews will get things shaped up pretty good before I have to head our shortly.

4 weeks from today we are setting sail so I think I can handle some cold weather and snow now!!:cool1:

Snow on the ground! Snow on the ground! Drivin' like a fool 'cause there's snow on the ground...

FREE TO A GOOD HOME>>>>>SNOW. Soft, white and plenty of it. You are responsible for picking up.

Mike, I just said to my wife that I am ready to go down south and fish. Back in the old days (when I lived in La.) I would be fishing on Toledo Bend right about now. Today, I can not even find my boat because of the snow. If you head out, catch one for me.

Good news is Daytona 500 Qualifying is on today and the ARCA race tonight. At least there is something to do.

We got about 5 or 6 inches. It was sloppy and wet yesterday, sticking all over the place. The trees are beautiful. But so much wind during the night there are huge drifts all over, it kind of dried out. Tried making a Snow Mickey this morning, but it's not packing very well. My boys were complaining about their forts not staying together super well either. Don't think I'll be able to participate in the igloo competition. So we'll just be heading over to the park after lunch for some family sledding time...

Wow... never thought I'd start an igloo-building contest :woohoo: I would have made mine bigger! HAHA! I can't wait to see some results popcorn::

I don't know about you trying to go bigger. I can see Fed's buddies coming around about 3am telling you the neighbors are complaining about the swearing and it's about time to quit for the night.

I'm heading to Toho (Kissimmee, FL--just south of WDW) Tomorrow morning for the day:thumbsup2 It's super windy so it might make things tough, but it's better than nothing...:goodvibes

I will, however, be taking back roads to the turnpike (thank you SunPass)...no way I go anywhere near Daytona on 95 for the next couple of weeks....I'll be watching the races though.

By the way, I see a beer in one of the igloo pics:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Excellent compliance with Man Law:lmao:

Around 18 inches and still going strong, Blizzard conds. was shoveling driveway, thought I spotted a polar bear, might have been a cat, Blackberry brandy kickin' in who knows what it was.:lmao:

All right... who is sending the snow back down to Virginia Beach again?!? Only 1/2 inch so far... QUIT SINGING THOSE SNOW SONGS! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My back feels great! We only have a dusting here in MA.

Instead of shoveling, I am planning ADR's for our August trip.:thumbsup2

Mostly, trying to figure the best way to make an ADR for Cindy's Royal Table.:surfweb:

We got about seven inches total here, but it's melting too fast to do anything with it. Forecast does have us getting more tomorrow night, so we'll see what happens then.

If you're an early riser, Disney's online reservations open 1 hour before the phone system picks up. (I think it's 6:00 Eastern). You might be able to get one then. Breaksfast, Lunch or Dinner? I see that the Princesses are now at all 3, instead of just breakfast and lunch like they had been.
