Barry - took your advice on the live tree had it about 1 1/2 weeks now, really perked up with the hot water.

I think I hear something in the tree:eek::squirrel::lmao:

We are getting the first flakes here at 8:30pm, it was supposed to start around 2. UGH my job got canceled so I ain't making any money today.:sad2: They are calling for 10-16''... guess we'll have to wait and see what we get. I need to change my profession to a weather man.:confused3:surfweb:

jan 10th they are going to take ... put a construction wall up in the front portion of the castle. they are starting a 3 month referb. on it.

Where did you find this info? I looked on WDWinfo and allears and couldn't find it. :confused3

EDIT:: I found a thread in the Theme Parks/Attractions board. Thanks for the heads up.

i see that jan 10th they are going to take the lights off the castle and put a construction wall up in the front portion of the castle. they are starting a 3 month referb. on it.

The day before we arrive... two days before we hit the MK... how exciting. I've seen that in other threads and thought "oh well, probably no good castle shots this time around..." but we'll just have to wait and see how it looks... maybe we'll still get something

Quite a day yesterday. DD5 had her Christmas Pageant at Preschool. She was Mary, and got to bring one of her baby dolls to be Jesus. Then we took the family to see The Princess and the Frog. In short, it was a very good movie. I'll try to post a better review later. Unfortunately, the day had to be ruined by having to go into work from 7-midnight to some system upgrades.
Hope all you guys out east are handling the OK, we got less than 1/2" here overnight.

We took our DDs to see that movie last weekend. We all loved it. :thumbsup2 I especially liked all the styles of music they worked into the story.

We missed all the snow. They're calling for thunderstorms here on Christmas day. I guess we'll be singing "I'm dreaming of a soggy Christmas".

We had to cancel the kids combined birthday party today due to the snow. The museum that we were going to have it at decided to not open today and we had to reschedule. So, we went to see Princess and the Frog this afternoon. Kids loved it and I have to admit that I liked the music myself.

We went to the mall today also and I have to admit that it was one of the best shopping days of the season. No one was there! The snow kept the shoppers home!

i was looking into seeing when they take the lights off the castle and i came across the referb. when i was there in oct, they were working on the back and the had scaffolding and the meshy scenic stuff up. i think it was in 05,06 they were painting the castle and they had a crane parked behind it. they worked during the day but around 3 or so they would put the crane down and stop working. we have some pics that you see a crane arm sticking up.:lmao: im sure they will blend it in as much as they can. there are a few threads that they are talking about it and some people are twisted.

hey steve, how much snow did you get?

Got about 10 inches out there now, they are saying 18-24in for the central & southern shoreline:eek::eek: What happened I thought we were in global warming:confused3

nope, i think they call it climate change this week. :lmao: by next week it will be an iceage!! i just had my families christmas get together and my brother-in-law finds out he has an agressive type of lymphoma and is going in for his first round of treatment monday. i think they should start spending there time and my money on finding a cure for cancer than screwing around with the weather. i lost my mom when i was 16(ovari. cancer),dad at 17(brain cancer), brother was 44(lymphoma),sister had breast cancer, and another brother skin cancer. its time to find a cure to this frickin thing!!! i think we all have or had someone takin because of it and its time its stops!(i feel better now, thank you.)

WOW, you've definitely had a lot of loss due to the various forms of the big C. I've lost a few relatives to it, but so far none of my immediate ones... but my aunt does have a form of lymphoma now (for the past 4.5 yrs). I agree with you - stop playing around with all of the "play money" like it's Monopoly or something, and stop finding some other new thing to throw money at and get on the stick with the research and find some cures.

That's kind of why I just figured we'll wait and see. Being on the extreme front end of the refurb I'm not totally concerned... I just hadn't put 2 and 2 together when I first read about it on a couple of other threads. No biggie. I'll just be sad for my folks & brother who might not get that castle shot that they want... us - we've got plenty.

Looks like we ended up with about 6-8". It took us a while to shovel out our 110' driveway; thanks goodness our son is home on leave! And, the stuff was nice and fluffy.

Dave ~ I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer in '89 and my DW has had skin cancer twice but they were able to take care of it since she caught it early. We're not known for lying around on beaches, that's for sure.

I couldn't agree more, during my fathers battle with things it did feel like "take a number". They have to realize they are playing with peoples lives, not just the one suffering from cancer but the entire family. I will have your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Dave I am sorry to hear about what your family is going to have to go through in the upcoming days and weeks with your Brother In Law. Happening at Christmas makes a horrible situation even worse. Also, I could not agree with you more on cancer research funding. As a cancer survivor I can say firsthand that when you are hit with those words it is like the rug is pulled from under you and your whole family. We need to continue to do more research and find a cure.

wow! you guys got nailed. we got about 6 inches. it looks like more because its blowing around. good luck digging out today.:thumbsup2

Got 22in total, spent 6hrs shoveling out the 8 car driveway with 5 cars in it + sidewalks. Snow plow still nowhere in sight (tax payer dollars hard at work). Hope they come soon my boss will have a cow if I call out again tomorrow:eek:

Sorry to hear about your family. I totally agree we spend too much money on stuff like globel warming, sending money to other countries etc. We should take care of our own frist. If they spent some money on those full body scan machines that can detect cancer, heart problems etc. (I read somewhere a scan was around $3500 but not alot of machines out there) If it was mandatory to get one every 2yrs alot of lives would be saved. Plus in the long run would save money in health care catching stuff in early stages.
