I'd say you're in...WELCOME to our "lounge"...:lmao::lmao:

By the way guys, I know we don't often talk about it, but I have to say I'm really impressed and proud of my wife.

She works full time at a very demanding job, all the while taking care of our 21 month old--who can be a handful. She has to be exhausted. At home, I shoulder A LOT of the parenting/cooking/cleaning duties (of course, I'm usually the CAUSE of the cleaning duties:rotfl2:--I'm worse than the little guy sometimes:rolleyes:). Oh, and her job is 45 minutes to an hour away from where we live...

She is really hanging in there!!!

I have already planned a spa visit for her at WDW when we go in January...she's earned it, plus I'll get some dad time with the little one!!

Just had to get that off my chest.

Oh, and I, uh, got chased by Wadi Dogs (coyotes) while jogging last night:scared1: Might have to start "packing" while I'm jogging:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Good Post Fed Fuzz...except for the wild Dog thing :rotfl2:

Like the old saying that says something like behind every good man is a great woman is true for most of us I think and we take them from granted what they do. I had found out myself just how much my wife actually does this summer. She works part time and still takes care of a lot of the things at home because I work 60-70 hours a week. However, since I have this stress fracture in my foot I have been off work since July and see just how hard it is to keep up. It gave me a whole new perspective and appreciation for her and what she does to keep our family fed, clean, and clothed.:dance3:

how can I join this club?

:welcome::welcome::welcome:

What's not to like? I get to take my daughters and have their pictures made with beautiful princesses. Of course, since we dads want to participate as much as possible in our daughters lives, I will be forced to stand with the princess and have several (many) pictures made as well. I think they just added to my fantasyland.

On that note, my two DDs say that my favorite princess is Jasmine, since seem to have a lot of her, I mean their picture with Jasmine. Of course, it is a close up with my girls' head at chest high level.

Dads with boys that visit the princesses for pics also get some extra attention.:thumbsup2

Open question to all the DVC Dad's, have any of you stayed at the Boardwalk DVC resort? How did you like it? Would you reccomend staying there or possibly buying there? We are considering joining and I am wondering what you fellas think.

For all you guys that are not DVC members, have you rented points off these boards before and how were your experiences. I am considering renting for next years trip in Jan/Feb and was curious if any of you have done this and with what success.

I know there is a separate board for DVC renting and I think we are not supposed to talk $ here, but I was lokking for a general idea of what my fellow Dis Dads thought of both options.

Is it just me or is the wait for a Dole whip the slowest moving thing in the entire park? Basically you only have two things being ordered, a cone or a float so you'd think they would come up with a way to speed up the process! I think Walt planned it this way to show us all what it feels like to be 4 years old and waiting in a ride line for what seems like an eternity.

Loading up the minivan in a little over 24 hours. I loved my car but NOTHING beats having that wireless second row entertainment system so DS can watch his movies and I can listen to tunes. I have to admit that half the time I end up listening to the moviepopcorn::

I totally agree with you about the wait for the whips!! Until you mentioned it I guess Ihad not really thought aobut hw the line is ALWAYS so long and slow there!!! Man I have a hankerin for one of those things now.

Have a safe and fun trip!!!! How manmy hours is it from Toronto to Disney???

I am not a DVC memeber and did not know that you could rent points...how does that work? I would be interested in knowing how to do that for future reference myself!!

Well, she almost got be back quicker than she expected....

Started having some pain "a little low"....hernia...well, they thought I was on the next plane home, but the Surgeon out here says it's not that bad so I can't wait until I get home to have it.... my Saturday 8 mile runs are off though.

Not that I'm against an early trip home, but I have a job to do, ya know..

She knows and understands--plus, the money is good!!

We are DVC members that own at Saratoga Springs. We've stayed there a few times, but we really like the Beach Club for the pool. One perk of being a DVC member is that you can pool hop to almost all of the other resorts while your are staying at Disney. Except you can't hop to Beach Club, Animal Kingdom or the new Bay Lake Tower. So we try to stay at Beach Club for access to its pool.
We've never stayed at Boardwalk, but the last 2 trips it has been our "backup" resort, just in case we couldn't get into Beach Club. It's right across the lake from Beach Club, and it walking distance to both Epcot and the Studios.
As far a buying there, you would have to go via resale, because it is sold out through Disney. Buying resale can save you some money, and once you're a DVC Member, Disney will treat you the exact same as someone who bought through them. The downside is that it can take several weeks to a month or more to close on a resale.

My son is also a big fan of Jasmine. (That's my father in law and daughter in the picture with my little guy)

*laugh* I couldn't help but laugh when I saw that picture and the kids' reaction

Re: BWV DVC - we own @ Saratoga spring and Bay Lake Towers - but have spent 3 trips to BWV. Wife likes it there because it's walking distance to Epcot + MGM. I like the area as well (cool nightlife/restaurants). Centrally located. I like the 'decor/theme'. TO me, very relaxing

You can rent from other DVC members who were not able to use there points for that year. There is an entire board dedicated to this.

Read the sticky at the top it explains everthing. (you have to be logged in to see the threads where people are talking $)

It seems like a good option to stay a Deluxe resorts for a fraction of the rack rates.

I have read a lot about DVC and am considering buying in via resale, but was wanting to stay at Boardwalk on points just to check it out before we make any kind of decision.

This picture made me think about a thread on the photography board. They have a weekly contest over there to caption a disney photo and everyone votes on the caption..the winner posts a picture for the next week. When I saw this picture from Rafiki I already had a caption in mind...Here is the link to the thread if anyone wants to go over there and have fun trying to out caption everyone ..

Have a safe and fun trip!!!! How manmy hours is it from Toronto to Disney???

Luckily I'm in Raleigh now so it is 9 1/2 hours door to door. If I recall it is about 22 hours from Toronto (only did it once as a passenger, never again).

Raleigh is just about the perfect distance; once you factor in getting to the airport early, sometimes having to connect in Atlanta, and waiting for the Magic Express bus, spending an extra 4 hours driving to save $700 on airline tickets seems like a pretty good deal and it covers a pretty good chunk of the dining plan.

They are something aren't they? My DW works fulltime, team mom's all of the kids sports and is scrapbook chair for the middle school that they attend. On top of taking care of the house, pets, kids and me.

Which spa you taking her to? I need to set mine up at Thanksgiving.
