I was thinking about this in some of the other posts...


How many Disney Dads fish??? And if so, what for...I'm a bass fisherman myself, but every now and then I get a hankerin for some Specks (Crappie) and some Bream

My son LOVES the boat...got great video of him right before I left!!!

Where is your son stationed?

Normally, I wouldn't put my boat in the water July 4th weekend (I'm sure you could imagine why), but time was short for me, so I put in....he HAD to go with me of course. My wife threatened me with DEATH if I went over idle speed, but he was bouncing up and down squealing with delight. So...we picked it up a bit (with her permission of course)

We didn't run flat out....that scares even her, but he was digging 45mph

He also got a kick out of playing with the crickets...

I have pics somewhere I need to post.....

If any of you guys get down here and want to wet a line in one of the local lakes, lemme' know....

I'm dying to try the Disney Fishing Excursion, but haven't yet.

Just wondering.

I LOVE fishing. I mainly fish for Bass but will usually fish for almost anything.

I have done the fishing excursion twice. It is a lot of fun to fish right in front of the Magic Kingdom. You don't get a lot of big fish though. Our last trip the biggest was 5 pounds and my 9 yo caught it. We did catch about 30 fish though in 2 hours. You just have to watch the guides. I had one great one and one that I questioned whether or not he really knew what he was doing.

I did forget to mention that I found out I'll be home Dec 5th---if not earlier.

Beats February by a long shot

I'll keep that in mind about the bass guides, but I may wait another year to try it since my son is so little.

I made our 2010 Christmas reservations last week!!!! 10 nights at FW.

But wait there is more, for the price of just a frequent flier ticket($50) and a few beers, a few rounds of golf, more beer, lunch, more beer, worms for fishing and just one more beer, I get to go in February when my wife is traveling there for a conference. Room is free, breakfast is free, fishing is free, but beer cost !!!!!! That’s alright. No kids, just me by myself and wife a few hours a day!!!

Sounds great! My DW and I have been down about 7 times without the kids, since they're all adults now. We will be returning with our younger son, 27 yo, in a few weeks, though.

Are fishing poles and bait including in the excursion? I should buy poles for my two DDs (7/5), but when I have borrowed and taken them fishing, if they did not catch anything within 5 minutes, they were ready to quit.

That's a great idea? My trips are planned around school breaks for another 12 years. But, a Disney vacation and a tax deduction. Now, that's something to celebrate

I learned a VERY important lesson today.....never ask the question (even as a joke) "What next?"!!!

I was able to partake of the ER of the hospital I work in today with a kidney stone!!! I have NEVER had anything hit me so hard so fast and not let up. Delaudid was my best friend today!!!

Oh well, at least my counter is still less than MiJo's and DVCzerf's ...
