Interesting topic guys.

We have been erratic in our trips. We would love to be able to go every year, and maybe we will get there. Both DW and I are Disney People so we always look forward to our trips. One factor that works against us is that my family is in Canada and we will take a trip to see them once a year which takes away potential time/dollars for Disney.

Next week we will make our first drive to the world and if that goes as well as FreezinRafiki told me it would (Yes I'm putting this all on you :rolleyes1 ) then we might be able to swing more frequent trips.

That all being said, we also will be exposing our DDs to the national parks in a couple of years so that may divert funds away from WDW as well. Admittedly I'm not the anal 3 year in advance planner, but once we decide where to go I'm an information hound. That way I'll be informed should plans have to change.

Sorry for the rambling, I'm still working on my first cup of coffee today. :surfweb:

Oh man, that stuff is great. I've made it a few times here. For some reason, DW thinks it's not "healthy" because you basically deep fry it. I have no idea what she is talking about.

Enjoy your breakfast!

Not healthy? That's just crazy talk....LoL....I don't make it very often for that same reason, but I've never actually had the FT at Disney and am making it more often in the weeks leading up to the trip so that I can properly compare this version to the official version. Lately, I've been shaping them like Mickey for the kids, wife and I eat the remainder. It's the one meal that both kids eat with no argument.

Thanks for all the input on going frequently vs. going ever so often. I've threatened to look for jobs in FL when I finish school next year. :cool2: I'd love to live closer so we could go on the weekends. But, DW says she doesn't want to live a plane-ride away from her parents. :confused3

What do you use to get a Mickey shape? We're going to have to try this. :thumbsup2

Good to see the Penn State part, but not the Sox, Bruins, or Pats. Celts are okay.

We have been going every year for the past 3, and are planned for July 2010. For us, we view the trip as a Resort vacation, not just a theme park vacation. As such, we do a lot of things outside the parks (but still on property) and tend to not always hit the "big attractions", opting for different small attractions each time. Plus, with our kids being young, DD4 and DD1.5, each year is a different trip for them. DD4 is small for her age, so could only ride Barnstormer the last two trips, and I know that when she gets tall enough for big rides, it will be a new trip all over again. Same with DD1.5, as she "grows into" attractions. Plus, there are always things we want to do each trip but don't have time, so rotate attractions, events, etc. Plus restaurants too. Maybe if they were both older, year after year COULD get old for us, but I doubt it.

Another wrinkle, without boring you all to death, is DD4's peanut and treenut allergy. Disney makes it so easy for people with food allergies to eat at places and things that normally they can't, that it is a really special added benefit. It frankly is hard to eat out except for the handful of restaurants we have grown comfortable with, so traveling and eating safely is a real bonus for us, and Disney accomodates us amazingly well.

Awaldo I'll echo this sentiment. Our youngest who has Milk, Soy & Egg allergies also makes it difficult to eat out. On top of that she had Kidney failure almost a year ago which added additional food restrictions. Our decision to go to WDW to "celebrate her kidney function" (she's doing awesomely well these days) was made so much easier once we researched their special food needs service. We reached out to WDW's special diet's group and they were great and thorough with their response. Not to mention the feedback we have seen on here has been reassuring.

Glad to hear she is doing well! I never appreciated dietary assistance until I saw my daughter get to eat her first banana split at MK two years ago. Nowhere else had we ever felt safe enough about the kitchen or counter making one without keeping the peanuts isolated until we ate at the Plaza in MK. They were amazing and allowed her to have what most of us don't give a second thought to ordering. I will get off my soapbox now.

Actually, it's quite easy. A small cup for the ears, i use a sippy cup, then a soup bowl for the face. Cook the toast first, then cut out the shapes. At the ears be sure to cut out a small piece with the bowl so that it will tuck into the 'head'.

This is all so true! My DW has a wheat/gluten allergy and the Disney chefs are top rate when it comes to dealing with food allergies. This past trip, we learned that even the food courts can deal with this allergy. It was no problem to let them know and within ten minutes she had pancakes! At the restaurants, the chefs come right out to the table to discuss her allergy and she's never walked away disappointed. :thumbsup2
