[Runs in, turns around, drops pants and bends over to reveal a "2" painted on one cheek and an "8" painted on the other]

4 weeks until we're packed up and hitting the road in our minivan with the Disney Dad, Mom, daughter, son and 2 dog stickers. With all 6 of us packed inside.
I had a 2 door F-150 until DD was 2 1/2 and DS was 6 months or so. All 3 of us was a bit tight, but do able. Until DD started kicking the steering wheel and pulling the manual trans out of gear. Umm...honey, it think it's time to trade in the old truck for a minivan. Neither of us liked the idea, but they sure are convenient.

[Pulls pants back up and runs out]

You're crackin me up!

I too had to join the minivan club a few years ago and it just about broke my heart! We had a nice little white White Accord decked out to the hilt...Navi system it had every option you could buy. Then when DD came along it just was not as easy to get two kids in and out of it. 1 was hard enough but two was bad. Soooooo, we decided (really wife decided and told me that was what I wanted:rolleyes1) and we got a Honda Odyssey. It was great for the kids and good for any trips to Myrtle Beach we would take...I drive a Highlander myself so the Odyssey belongs to her....I only drive it on rare occasions (once again when she tells me to)

We realized it was time for the minivan when we took a trip to Myrtle Beach a few years ago with our Grand Am. We had to lift our baby girl out to the front seat through the middle aisle to get her in and out of the car!

Now we have a Honda Odyssey...and it's (I can't believe I'm saying this) a nice ride.

I agree Captain...it is a hard thing to say....but it is a nice ride....Geeez I can't believe Ijust admitted that in a public forum!:scared1:

When I was getting married I sold my Jeep CJ (it was jacked up and chromed out) because it was not "reliable". So I bought a brand new Jeep TJ. Probably not what she expected, but this one was reliable.

Now, 12 years later I have a 10 and 7 year old and the minivan conversation has come up. Noooooooooooooooooooooo:eek:

I am still pushing for an SUV of some kind, but gas is crazy. I might just have to bite the bullet. I may very well be quoted as saying "it's a nice ride" as well one day. (but not just yet):rolleyes1

Well, you guys know where I stand....

I drive a F-150 Super Crew (nice big cab)...it pulls da boat..

Wife has Toyota 4 Runner--she used to have a super cool Solara V6, but got rid of that when she was 8 mos. pregnant with the boy!!

Of course, I have the boat and maybe a nice hot rod soon (:rotfl:)

And uhhh....The MARINES would like their own category thank you...

Tiny was born in 2000...in April of 2001 we got our first minivan (A very base model Dodge Caravan...named Pearl)...just traded in Pearl for Bessy in August 2008. (Bessy is a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country..with a few buzzers and whistles.) I never felt the Stigma of the Minivan...I think they are nice rides.

Yeah we name our rides...it's a Southern thing.

I drive what used to be my MIL's car a Chevy Caviler...I named it Harriett...which was my MIL nickname after Harriett Olsen from Little House on the Prarie. :lmao:

I hate Chevy's but hey it was free. :thumbsup2

I cal FIL's minivan "Ride of Chuckey" as his nickname is Chuckey after the Child's Play Movies Chuckey. :rotfl2: you'd just have to see him to understand.

Daddy-O...one way that I agreed to get the minivan was that I was able to continue to have an SUV for myself. I drove a 4Runner for years and loved it...but with the gas prices the V-8 was not good anymore so I stepped it down to a Highlander and think it has more room than the 4Runner and it is good for the kids...so check it out and see if it would help you.

I just looked online and seems "like a nice ride". Just kidding, I never thought of Toyota to be honest, but that definately looks like something that I could get used to. Do you have the hybrid version?

I'm allergic to minivans....

Seriously, break out in hives all over...start twitching..it's a horrible sight to behold...

My brother has been trying to sell me on the idea.....

Heck, just talking about it here is causing me to break out...thanks guys, I appreciate it...

NO the Sport Edition did not come in Hybrid ha ha. The told me that it would take 7 or 8 years of use to break even on the extra cost of Hybrid...so I figured I would not hang on to a vehicle that long. Ha
