In all four of our DW trips, we have never been able to get to this ride for one reason or another. We're determined to try it this January. But I have no idea what its like. Is it slow moving..fast..., can you describe it a little bit? thanks.

Dinosaur is an indoor, dark, simulator on a track. It's pretty jerky. The simulator part is the car rocks back and forth, up and down, all the while it's moving forward on a track. Not a roller-coaster, but has a few minor hills and drops. It takes you through a prehistoric scene with dinosaurs popping out at you along the way. Honestly, it scares me to death, and I keep my eyes shut for a lot of it. I think I've made it through with my eyes open the whole ride once. What scares me is the popping dinosaurs, not the movement of the car. You sit six or eight to a car, three or four in front and the same in back.

Hope this answers your question. Have fun!

I would not necessarily catagorize this one as fast - DARK, LOUD, JERKY AND LOSE YOUR LUNCER maybe, but not that fast.

My 3 year old DS and DH love this one - my 7 year old, who has done ToT, RnR, space mountain and the like - will not go on this again. My five year old (who is a chicken like her mother) CRIED the WHOLE TIME.

However, if you like dinos - this is a very well done ride.

It's not really a fast ride. It is sort of bumpy and curvy, and it is very dark and loud. There are life size dinosaurs, and it is pretty intense.

Very loud, very jerky! We have tried this one twice now and I don't think we will again. My dd has noise sensitivities, and I didn't realize just how loud it was the first time we did it. In the photo you can see the top of her head only. Her head is tucked between her knees. Not in fear but trying to keep the noise down!! She said she wanted to try it again this past August so we did. It is just to jerky for us. And we love Space Mt!! Go figure.

Thanks everyone. That was perfect, just what I was looking for. I think I will give it a shot at least once. I have a feeling my boys will love it.

it's actually one of my favorites. it is not too rough and really not all that scary and definintely not fast. the cars have 3 rows and seat 4 in each row. if you're worried about it being too rough, dont sit in the back row. hope i could help you. i'm sure your boys will absolutely love this ride!

First time I thought it was lame because I kept my eyes pretty well shut, lol. This time however, it scared the pants off me! It's pretty intense and it is definitely one of my favorites now. The dinosaurs look so real!

My 7 year old and I rode for the first time last month. I didn't think it was too rough - very much like the Indiana Jones ride at DL - but I didn't expect it to be quite so LOUD! In our picture, I have my head turned to one side and one hand over an ear! My son enjoyed it, though. Besides SM, this is the one he kept talking about throughout our trip.

We have never been on this ride either, but I think we may try it this year. My youngest is 3.5 would that be too young? Is there a height requirement?

Probably a little intense for a 3.5-yr-old. I love this ride, but it is very dark, loud and jerky. I get motion sickness and was a little trepedacious of this one, but it was fine for me. And make a face when the t-rex pops out -- it takes your picture, which you can buy at the end of the ride, of course!

Yup, bumpy and jerky is what I DEFINATELY would call this ride (per my D/H) I am one of those people whe doesn't DO well with that type of ride....Indiana Jones makes me down right ILL! my husband really loved the ride and he gets motion sickness. I think I might give it a try this time but NOT after I eat! Have fun! Helen

I went on it this year and it is VERY LOUD and VERY JERKY. I didn't see much of it because I was too busy holding my 4 year old afraid he was going to get whip lash or something and my 6 year old kept her eyes close because with the noise and the real looking dinosaurse it was too much for her to distinquish the differnce of real and fake. I would try it again without them and not bring little ones on.

Hubby and I rode it for th first time in October. It is very dark and only parts of it go fast. It is a very jerky ride tho. If you scare easily, I would not recommend riding it tho. I loved it, hubby hated the darkness of it and the jerkiness.

My son first went on this last June when he was 3.5 yrs old. He LOVED it & we ended up going on it again.
We are going again in December and he has already said he wants to go back on to Dinosaur ride (he's 4 now)
I guess it depends on your child if you think they can handle a dark, loud, jerky ride.

My son in June also went on the Tower or Terror. He was fine on the ride, didn't cry or nothing BUT he has told me he does NOT want to go on ToT again. He said the drop scared him so he said he will go on ToT when he is bigger but not now! LOL..so it looks like DH & I will be taking turns with ToT.

You just have to listen to your child Also what helped my son, I believe, is before we went on the Dinosaur ride I told him exatly how it is...loud, dark & bumpy. I also told him about the Dinosaurs jumping out at you, BUT I also reminded him that it is all pretend, that the dinosaurs are not real.
He did perfectly fine so if you think your 3.5 yr old can handle it, let him try it...he may love it.

As for height requirement...I want to say it is 40" but it could be 42" I am not 100% sure which one.

Thanks Dan for that link, most helpful. Now I don't know if I wanna try this. I normally don't like jerky rides when I don't know when the "jerk" is going to happen, especially in the dark. Should I try it just once???

Thanks for the info. My 3.5 yr old does scare easily. So we will see. I know his older brother who is 5.5 would love it so maybe I will have him go on with Daddy and my dh can decide if the 3.5 would like it or not. I myslef get sick on those kinds of things so I don't know that I want to take the chance even going myself. Thanks again for the info!

I went on it with my husband and 2 kids age 11 & 18 (at that time). All 3 of them thought it was boring and too tame. I felt it was much easier than Space Mountain which I hated because of the jerking. We didn't feel it was scary at all because we knew that the dinosaurs would be jumping out at us so we were prepared the entire time to be surprised. Debby
