The Dining Plan was wonderful!

We were on the dining plan for 8 nights from April 13-21! We paid around 800.00 for the plan and got around 1300.00 worth of food! We didn't always order the most expensive thing on the menu either. It was wonderful not having to worry about the bill after a meal. I highly recommend this plan to anyone going to WDW! I will not go back without it.

I agree. We used it for the first time in March and we loved it. I was hesitant at first but did it anyway and boy was I glad we did. We saved ourselves 180.00 and that is big considering that didn't include the exchange rate and were a family of 5. Glad you enjoyed it, we'll be using it again in March too.

This is all good to hear. We are a family of 4 going in June. I did not want to worry about money on this vacation. I wanted it all to be paid for up front. And the best part, When the kids say they want dessert, they can have it. And I will be the best dad in the world!

I have never been on the plan before and can't wait until Sept. I was going to get it anyway and now it's free so it's a double bonus for me!

I enjoyed the Dining Plan, knowing I could order without worrying about the price. When I brought all my receipts home, I found out that we came out even with the food, but where the savings came was that 18% was added on our bill for gratuity. I was never sure if my waitress received that 18% so I always left an extra $5.

I was excited when my wife started reading about how the DDP worked out. In the past we had heard bad things about it. Most of that turned out to be related to people not making a plan ahead of time and making the reservations that were needed. We're at like 172 days to go and have everything already already reserved.

I look forward to not having to worry about paying for meals when we get there.

Your server does receive the gratuity. The difference is, now it's in their next paycheck instead of directly in their pocket from your table.

I wished I would of asked this before hand. I had all wonderful waitresses. I just read in someone's trip report, that they tipped the hostess when they got seated. I feel so bad, I never tipped them. We did have ADR's at all our resturants, we were never a walk-up.

I'm excited to try it for the first time this August! I think it wll be so nice to order whatever and not worry about the price and if it falls into our budget.

This is great to hear! We're a family of 7 and our trip is next week. This will be our first time at Disney World and on the Disney Dining Plan for all of us. We won't be ordering the most expensive things on the menu either. For us it's all in what we normally eat. I'll be sure to add my review when we return once we settle in.
