I just tried making ADR's on-line for Sept 29th @ Liberty Tree and "The Diamond Horseshoe" was offered as an alternative. Has anyone been there? WDW dining website shows as table service, buffet and casual dining. I don't recall seeing this last time I was @ MK (Nov 2008). I have a few questions:

1.) What was on the buffet?
2.) How much per adult?
3.) Were the food and desserts good?

Any info would be much appreciated... :)

The Diamond Horseshoe used to have a show and be open all the time. Now I think they just open it when the crowds get really heavy. I was looking for something in the park for 9/29 and was coming up empty for a long time. Just a few days ago the Horsehoe opened up and I snagged it for 5pm. The menu is the same as the Liberty Tree which we have been to twice. They serve a family style all you can eat meal with apple cobbler and ice cream for dessert. It was nothing great but I want to be in the park for the Halloween party that night so I was glas to get the res.

Hope that helps!

You didn't see it because it's open only during free dining and during crowded peak periods, when they need overflow dining in the Magic Kingdom (MK has only five TS restaurants to start with).

It's operational as a CS during lunch (serving sandwiches) and a TS at dinner. Dinner is the same all you can eat meal served family style as Liberty Tree's dinner. All the food comes from the same kitchen as Liberty Tree. Have seen on the boards that the servers even wear Liberty Tree costumes.

Price is $29.99 per adult.

Ahhh... no wonder I hadn't seen it... We've only been there in November and December. Maybe we'll give it try and report our experience on the forums... :thumbsup2

Thanks SO much for the info!

FWIW, we ate there a few weeks ago and thought it was decent. The steak and ham in particular were really good. The Mac and Cheese was weak. But overall it's fine, particularly if you are a carnivore.
