I made my deposit today! YEAHOO!!!!! Pop Century Sept 25-Oct 2, requested King room, standard view, non-smoking, 70's section (I'm not picky ;) )

I need help though. MY DBF has not been to Disney since he was about 6. He is not really 'excited' that much about this, and he is concerned about the amount of money we are going to be spending. I am a very overly excitable person, expecially when it comes to WDW!!!! He is more laid back and now I am feeling guilty that we shouldn't spend this kind of money if he isn't THRILLED to go like I am :( Help me convince him! How can I show him how great it is! (We've watched the videos- he wasn't overly impressed- it's just not the same as being there.) I'm thinking we should just go and then he will see and then it will be easier to get him there the next time :) :) :)

I'm happy dancing for you!:bounce: There's nothing like that "booked and deposited" feeling.;)

As for getting DBF excited, he might just be one of those that doesn't GET excited - until he gets there.;) We hear about those types everyday here on the DIS. In the meantime, order a planning video, go get some planning books and indulge YOURSELF in some serious WDW fun.:teeth: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Yeah, we've been together for almost 4 years now so I know him pretty well, and he never really gets Overly Excited about things like I do (unless it's sports related ;) ) He says he wants to go, but he keeps mentioning how much it's going to cost, and that is bringing down my excitedness. I know once we get there it will be so worth it, but I just want someone to share in my excitement with :) That's why I'm on these boards! Where else could you find total strangers that are SO excited for you to go on vacation! :) :) hahaha

Well, he came home from work today with a Barnes and Noble bag in his hands. We had gone the other day because I wanted to look at Disney books, but ended up not getting one because he was making me feel bad and it just wasn't very 'exciting.' Well, he went today after work and got the Passporter book for me because he knew it would make me happy and he wanted me to know that he does want to go, even if he isn't showing it like I am. SIGH! He doesn't usually do things like that, so I know he must really mean it. :Pinkbounc

He sounds like my DH. He complains left and right about going but once we get there he is fine. This last trip we took was for a wedding i was going to. he insisted he only wanted 2 days in the parks so i bought him a 2 day pass from the wedding site...guess what???? We had to upgrade and he spent 5 days in the park and actually asked some questions about DVC!

That's good to hear- I'm glad I'm not alone. I really believe that once we get there, he will have such a GREAT time! He just needs to trust me and not worry about money so much :) :) :)

Funny Update:

So now it's about a month or so after my original post and (since then) I have made decorative binders with the dining information, have read my passporter a million times, and I put a poster in our kitchen with Disney stickers all over it counting down the payments we have made (can you tell I have an education degree? ;) ) Last night when he got home from work DBF came in to talk to me (he had just been in the kitchen) and he said 'I know you are going to think I'm just saying this to make you happy, but I'm not, I'm really excited to go!' When I asked him what made him suddenly feel more excited he said because it was getting closer and because he had been looking at the poster in the kitchen and realized how close we really are to being there! So for anyone else with a hesitant spouse/SO THERE IS HOPE! :)
