We have the DL sing along songs tape, and that girl really does look like Julia. We love that tape and have to watch it frequently. Is it on DVD now? I haven't been able to find it.

Toys R Us has it here in Alabama! You might find it on Amazon.com if you don't have a toys r us there.

does anyone have this? There is a little girl about 7 or 8 with super curly hair and Julia tells me that is her and tells me all about when she went to Disneyland to be in the tape - that girl has quite an imagination!! :rotfl2:

which is why yesterday I got very irritated with my MIL - we were at breakfast talking about the cruise and Julia was telling her she couldn 't wait and the only thing she didn't like was that Captain Hook was going to be in the kids club (Did I mention we have the cruise DVD and Julia watches it often) so I told her that we would make sure she was not in the club when he was there and then my MIL says:

Julia - you know Captain Hook isn't real - he is just a character - it is someone like Daddy dressed up in a costume pretending to be Captain Hook - characters aren't real

why doesn't she go ahead and tell her Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy don't exist either!! ***??!?!? :confused3

then today Julia said to me - mommy - are the country bears real or just in costumes

now I know that someday she will figure it out - but she immerses herself so completely in the Fantasy that I really don't think it was necessary for my MIL to tell her that - I would rather just let her figure it out on her own
I agree with you. I want my kids to hold on to the "magic" of believing as long as possible. A lot of my relatives think that my kids are far too naive for their age. :confused3 Children grow up in this day and age way too fast IMO so I want them to keep their childhood imaginations and fantasies as long as possible. :goodvibes Maybe you could explain your feelings to her when the kids aren't around. :chat:

Hi Kids!! Have you all been playing nicely in the playground??? We had an eventful weekend - its funny now, but wasn't then.

The readers digest version: Matt had a playdate on Friday and he is allowed to have the friend stay for dinner. So I put in some chicken nuggets and fries (Pay attention here - I don't cook). I go to take them out, of course I didn't use an oven mitt but used my sweatshirt instead (first mistake). I burned my hand and dropped the chicken. That proceeds to fall back into the oven, starting a small fire on the oven coils. I scream bloody murder for Skunka, who comes racing down the stairs, missing a stair and falling the rest of the way. So now I'm burned and his back is out. Needless to say, we had an eventful weekend!!! We need a break!

So send skunka some love - his back is a little better, but he's not himself. I can't wait to go away in a couple of weeks... we need some R&R!!

What a awful weekend. Here is :wizard: for both of you to get better. Are you make some t-shirts for your coming up trip?

Well.. I am a temporary SAHD.
The company I work for is slower during the winter months. They gave me the option to take 5 months off, so I jumped at it (got to keep all my benefits, seniority, vacation time and bonuses).
I figure my daughter will only be this little once. I felt like I was missing out on alot.
Since I have been home with her, we have mastered the art of going to the potty(yay! no more pull-ups), sleeping through the night in her own bed(yay! now I can get more personal "attention" from my wife), and, she has been healthy as can be.
The preschool/daycare that she was in, always seemed to have at least one child sick all the time, consequently, she would constantly get sick.
I am dreading the end of Feb. when I have to return to work.
For so long we couldn't wait for Feb. to get here for our trip.. if only I could freeze time when we're there.
I really feel for all the SAHMs and SAHDs out there. It is alot of work, but the rewards have be awesome. I am sure my daughter or I will never forget this special time we had had together.
It is nice though, to come here for some adult conversation sometimes. My wife works really hard and it has really given her a break too.

Isn't it great! Phil works at home. While I'm at work in the morning, he's the SAHD. Come 1pm, I get to be the WAHM for the rest of the day. I know that he loves getting to play with Terra all morning.

I'll have to check it out. We wore our first tape completely out last year and I tried to find a replacement. Couldn't find one on ebay or in any of the stores. I finally ordered it direct from the Disney site, but they didn't offer it on DVD. I'll keep checking. With as much as my kids watch it, I'd like it in a format that won't wear out as much.

My father bought us a tape a few years ago called "A Day at Disneyland". It is a fantastic look at most of the rides at the park. However, it's older, and doesn't include any of the stuff from CA, or the newer rides in DL. I'll be really sad when that tape wears out. There is no replacement for that! Yikes.

We are going dec. 1-10. I want to check out some of the different resorts. I have never seen POFQ or POR.

Kristine,

Steffy and I stayed at POFQ. We were in building 4 right next to the food court. We also were really close to the bus stand. Our Mousekeeper (Fanny) was just great. You can click on allears.net and can see pictures of each resort. The thing that was the main reason was the double sink :rotfl2:

I have heard good things about POFQ.I think if we ever stayed there, we would have to stay at POR...since were are a party of 5.

Paul and Marti, hope you both feel better soon, ditch the chickn' and eat some steak for a while or try that teriyaki salmon.

Kate, congrats on the cruise and AP

Yes I saw Jen's egg harched, looked like a horse to me. :rotfl2:

So I have awesome news!!

As you can see I am training for the 1/2 marathon next year - DH has agreed to go - he might train - not sure if we are taking the kids or not

My MIL told me yesterday that she is getting ready to book us on the April 28 2007 Magic

and we are going in December 2007

so the other night I said to DH - we should think about getting an AP - he said - there is no thinking about it - that is a no brianer!!!

No wonder I love him so much!!!!

I'm insanely jealous! Well, probably more insane. ;)

I posted a few days ago regarding having to take Kirsten to a pediatric eye doctor...well, she has very poor vision in one eye plus "lazy eye" This requires patching for 4 hours per day. Since taking this picture, things have gone steadily down hill...the adhesive on the patch bothers her skin, she has been crying for 2 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried a "pirates patch" which was way too big for her. :(

Oh no, poor little thing! I hope you can find something. :flower3:

My 5 year old son had a problem with lazy eye last year, I was able to find a child's size "pirates patch" at Wal-Mart but he did not like wearing it so I called the doctor and he prescribed eye drops, we used them once a week the only problem with the drops was they his eye stayed dilated, but it must have helped because his last check up his eye had really improved.

I hope you find something that is able to work for her.
