Julia is watching the Disneyland sing along songs

does anyone have this? There is a little girl about 7 or 8 with super curly hair and Julia tells me that is her and tells me all about when she went to Disneyland to be in the tape - that girl has quite an imagination!!

which is why yesterday I got very irritated with my MIL - we were at breakfast talking about the cruise and Julia was telling her she couldn 't wait and the only thing she didn't like was that Captain Hook was going to be in the kids club (Did I mention we have the cruise DVD and Julia watches it often) so I told her that we would make sure she was not in the club when he was there and then my MIL says:

Julia - you know Captain Hook isn't real - he is just a character - it is someone like Daddy dressed up in a costume pretending to be Captain Hook - characters aren't real

why doesn't she go ahead and tell her Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy don't exist either!! ***??!?!?

then today Julia said to me - mommy - are the country bears real or just in costumes

now I know that someday she will figure it out - but she immerses herself so completely in the Fantasy that I really don't think it was necessary for my MIL to tell her that - I would rather just let her figure it out on her own

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! My DD did the same thing to my DGD! My DGD was afarid of one of the characters, so my daughter thought it would be good to tell her everyone was just in costumes. I was fuming!!!

I had to explain to my DGD, IN FRONT OF HER MOTHER!!! that when we go to Disneyworld the characters are real. That is the real Mickey and the real Cinderella and the Prince. Oh I was fuming.....

But the damage was done and it was never the same. When she was 3 on her first trip, we filled her autograph book! This December, nada. I was so mad at my DD!! Just furious. She also told her there was no Santa. At 4!!! Why?????? I just don't understand. Sometimes I think I need to go on Maury Povich and get the dna!!!!

When I told my DH that I had to move the trip up 1 week to save nearly $300.00 on airfare, thanks to a ding on Christmas Eve that I saw 10 minutes before we were to leave for church, he just said ok.
Then I told him we would be leaving on Sunday Feb 5th......

All I can say is we are sure lucky girls, he probably rather be here for the game, but he loves to be with Asher in WDW.

I asked Kate to make a shirt for Asher with Mickey in a Colts uniform & it says: My Daddy missed the Colts in the Super Bowl to give me the World. Of course she only gets to wear it after we beat the Steelers this weekend. (Since then I have been messing around with PhotoImpact and Art Explosion T-Shirt Factory and just when I think I have figured something out... I find somethings else to sit and stare at, thinking hummm how do I do that? Is that in english?)
So in GOOD CLEAN FUN, I'll send you back...

Hi everyone! I'm here.....

As I told some of you, I'm reading along and keeping up -- I just needed some time away.

I'm still in Baltimore, but we're coming home tomorrow evening after Kyle's interview (FINALLY!!!!!).

I have a lot to share about this trip (as we're FINALLY drawing near(er) to the freakin' end of the interview trail)... it's been an interesting one! It's going to have to wait until at least tomorrow though, because I don't have the energy tonight.

I've missed you all, and can't wait to get back in the thick of things!


PS -- Thank you all for the PMs. I appreciate you looking out for me! My "good news" is MUCH less exciting than it has become. Contrary to what some have thought, there are no babies on the way to this family! It was just something we were really excited about that night, but it came at a bad time to share on this thread! It has to do with residency, and I'll still tell when I tell you all the whole story of this trip! But really -- it's not that exciting

I passed all my classes! I have about 6 weeks of class this semester then a preceptorship in the NICU.... then I'm DONE! At least for that program

I'm so sorry that happened to Julia! What a rotten thing to do. My DD8 was just like Julia; really vivid imagination, loves pretending, etc., and she just recently figured out that the characters weren't real. Hasn't stopped her loving them, and wanting autographs, though.

We have the DL sing along songs tape, and that girl really does look like Julia. We love that tape and have to watch it frequently. Is it on DVD now? I haven't been able to find it.

you know - my week just hasn't been bad enough and now this happens:

my MIL called right before dinner tonight - she wanted to tell me something and didn't want to alarm me but she and her sister have noticed (independently of one another) that Julia has just stared off into space for a couple of seconds

so they have decided that they think she is having petite mal seizures. So I said - well I have never noticed anything like that and she says to me - well we do sit down with her and have independent play and one on one time with her - *** does this woman who sees my child every couple of weeks really think that she spends more one on one time with my child than I do? I realize that usually we have Nick running around but it still really upset me.

I went online and read about them and they say they happen 20-30 times up to 100 times a day - don't you think I would notice if 100 times a day my daughter spaced out like that? Luckily DH understands why I am so upset

my mom who spends WAY more time Julia says she has never noticed anything like that but thinks that out of respect for my MIL - I should take Julia to the doctor -

DH thinks we should be on the lookout for a few weeks and get an audiology test for Julia - as there are times when she will say to me - what I didn't hear what you said - she can get lost in what she is doing and there are times I feel like I need to snap her out of what she is doing to pay attention to me but not a vacant look more like she is absorbed in hat she id soing

does anyone know anything about these?

Not according to hubby...he thinks think's it's gonna happen for the bears I myself will just be happy when it's Feb. 6th!
