Kodaly! Also, I teach in solfege because of the ear training benefits. So... I will use solfege in these lessons, ladies. Think Sound of Music, "Doe, a Deer" ...

Once again I am playing catch-up.

ELLEN-your sweatshirts look great!

PAUL-so you are now a "singing sheriff skunk" - sounds like a cartoon character to me.

YOOPER-Congrats on receiving your DVC info. sometimes compromise is the answer. I let DH get his hot tub, he then felt so guilty, he took me to the DVC presentation.

TIA-What type of books do you like? I am playing catch up with Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. They average 800+ pages each with a time travel theme (back to the Scottish highlands of the 1700's). I really enjoy them. I also like the Janet Evanovich series about Stephanie Plum (comedic mysteries). Sorry to hear about your computer problems. Hope they are fixed quickly. If you take your home laptop in, can your IT guy configure it so you can log in from home?

GLYNIS-How did your appt. go at the Dr.? I would love to have your salmon recipe.

KELLI-So Disneyland might make DVC even more intriguing?

KATE-What are dream dinners? You know if you put Julia in charge of Nick's diapers, maybe he will potty train himself in record time :rotfl2:  .

BECKY-Good luck with the job interview, and I hope you feel better.

MAC- :grouphug: for the new medical problems being faced by Mya and you and your wife. As parents, all we hope for our children is the best. Mya is blessed to have parents that will do all they have to, to help her. As for DVC or TSS, it would depend on which resort you prefer. The "sold-out" resorts can still be available thru DVC for $92/point. SSR is available for $83.50 with a referral (if you need one, just let us know). TSS is a very reputable resale agent. The one thing I would watch out for right now is the prices that BCV and BWV are commanding. By the time they are costing $85-$88/point and you add in closing costs, dues, etc, you may be paying $92 for resale and you still have to wait for ROFR and closing time. If you have any questions, ask away.

GO to this thread, In the top left corner is says "find an Eye M.D." Click on that. I found 15 in "CHicago". My recommendation is to ask around though. Start with your pediatrician and friends. If you need help, pm me. Dh did residency with a guy from Chicago. I can make some calls to him for recommendations. Good Luck. Those do not sound like terrible issues. The eye is so resilient!

Thank you for this link!!!

I have no idea what happened, apparently I have 49 pages to read here and I have no idea on the other thread. I haven't been able to open the DIS in two days. I finally am using my dial up connection. The cable connection works for the web, but not the DIS. Thanks Paul for letting me know about the new thread. I can't wait to catch up on all the chaos?

Good luck with your daughter's eye issues. I hope you can find a Dr. who can get you in quickly.

As for the "lazy eye" issue, my cousin suffered from this, and his was corrected when he was about 10-12 years old.

I live about 45 minutes from the outlets. I was looking on the map and can see you are about centrally located in NJ so you might be about a 3 hour drive from here.

So you are probably a 4 hour drive from DC? I guess depending on traffic!!
Hope you can make it for the meet.

im definitely thinking about it--it all depends on if i have summer classes and if i could talk anyone into coming with me..id completely get lost on a 4 hour drive! :rotfl:

Mac - I jsut wanted to say that if you buy SSR vs. resale - you will have a longer contract - their contracts are 10 years longer

Do any of your little ones wear glasses? My youngest failed the eye school exam..took her today for follow up...she has terrible vision in her right eye. She couldn't see the biggest letter on the eye chart..have to see a specialist and sorta freaking out.

Kristine

The same thing happened to us with our middle son. In fact we had been at the pedicatrician the day before and had his sight tested and they said it was fine. When the school nurse called me I said that she must be mistaken because he was just tested. She said she was pretty sure, but would retest in a couple of weeks. She did and sure enough he has a bad astigmatism. I couldn't believe how bad his vision was when we saw the specialist. The good news is that it won't get worse, the bad news is that he has to wear glasses all the time. He is 8 now and was 6 when he was diagnosed. It was upsetting for him and for us, but now that his vision has been corrected he does much better with everything. Just be glad that it was caught early.

Deb
