Thanks to everyone who offered me kind words and encouragement regarding missing my DS who is away at school. Everything will be fine, I just always need to get sad for a little bit, and then I am ok. He called today, that made me feel a little better.

Glynis,
I am making your salmon recipe tonight for dinner, I'll let you know how it comes out, but I am really looking forward to it. It looks great.

:rotfl2: When we went back to visit last year we went to the 13 YO baseball games and one of the players had long hair down his back sticking out of his helmet. Grandma(being old fashioned and not up with the times) asked if they let girls play with the boys now. :faint: I was mortified that the parents might have heard. But what are you gonna do with the older generation, they just don't understand the new fashions and stuff. :confused3 Gosh forbid they get an earing. :scared1: She would never let that one go. Secretly, I like some of it to come from her than me. That way I'm not the uncool step-mom, I think it but let her give the lecture. :teeth:

I have an old fashioned thirteen year old!! ::yes:: She thinks boys with long hair or earring looks odd/uncool and hates the fashion of jeans down to the ankles. :cool2:

Now I think the jeans down past the rear is ridiculous but the rest I think depends on the boy!! So I guess I don't have to worry to much in her choice of boys when she starts dating.

But I agree with you let the older ones lecture and we think it

Clare (Rosejo)
I have been meaning to ask you about a saying.
Ok I'm full bloodied British.
Dads side I'm 3rd generation.
Moms side I'm 5th generation.
Anyway when I was little I had a lot of relatives now passed.
Used the expression Jhonny Bull.
What does it mine?
Also does anyone still use it.
My 1 DGM would also always say Churchill would never do this or that.
Talking about the president @ the time.
So everytime I read 1 of your Queens English saying I remember.

Brendita these are for you. We love you!

That's great that you don't have to worry about your DD's boyfriend choices. My poor step-father had us 2 step-daughters and than his DD, my younger sister. None of us made good choices in boys in HS. :headache: Now, as a parent I understand his sleepless nights and why he is now bald. :faint: My younger sister in college might give him a coronary. My DH looks at all this and says he's releived we have all boys.

Ellen,

I missed my DS so much when he went away to college (and was 13 driving hours away) that when my DD went to college, I got a map and a compass, drew a circle of a 5 hour driving radius and told her to not even apply, if the college didn't fall inside the circle. :flower:

tink,

I'd just skip ITTBAB if I were you. That's what I told tinker1bell to do. I thought it was cute and I hate bugs, but it's really okay if that is the last time I se it. It was so intense that my DGD won't even walk near the entrance. The stink bug and cockroaches did her in...

Kristen,

I think I'm going to start planning my trip too. I think I'm going to give my sister a tshirt to let her know we are really going to Disney this year.

I know where everyone is. It's the playoffs!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Talk to you all tomorrow!! :chat: :chat:

So far all is good.
I spend better part of the weekend going through things.
Things to keep, things for garage sale, things to trash.
I'm trying to get together a big garage sale.
It will be a lot of good Disney stuff.
Going from a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, den, formal living & dining room.
To a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment.
Hopefully cross country.
I really need to down size.
Anyone in the Portland Oregon want to help out
or just hang out with me in my garage some weekend?

I went to Texas Road House- but I hardly ate anything I still don't feel right-brought most of my food home. I came home went for a 45 minute walk, and have since been working on setting up the Secret Scrapbook Sister Swap on the Disboards.

I would love to help out if you need. ::yes:: (Of course the fact that I could get out of the house some Sat. without the kids has nothing to do with it. :rotfl: ) But seriously, if you need help I would be glad to. :)

I know it was going better today but now it is slow as mud again or doesn't work at all.
