Lynn, That would be why it is affectionately referred to as Hotlanta, not hot Atlanta. :rotfl: :rotfl2: Can't you tell I made too many road trips, from Orlando to Atlanta when I was in college.

That's funny that you referenced Hotlanta. I had actually typed that 1st and then changed since I wasn't sure if everyone would know what I was talking about. My husband left for work this morning at 6am and it was already 72 degrees. It definitely looks like another hot day.

I started by new routine this morning:
5:15am up and fixed coffee and breakfast for DH and I
5:45am had morning devotion with DH before he left for work
6:10am got on the treadmill for 30 minutes
6:40am hoped in the shower
7:00am in front of the TV with coffee to watch Good Morning America

I am usually not getting up until around 7-7:30am each morning and rushing to be out the door by 8:30am. I needed a better routine so we will see how this goes.

Hi everyone...

We found out tonight that Christopher made the #1 team (for his age group) in the travelling soccer league. He was soooo excited!! Now the fun begins....it's quite the time commitment.

Kristine

Kristine -- that is wonderful news!!! Way to go, Christopher! Good luck with your team!

Well, this must be the day for bad news. I just got off the phone with my dad. His cousin, and best friend, committed suicide this morning. "Uncle" Richard never married, was eccentric (that's the nicest way to put it), and didn't really have any friends other than one sister and my family. Recently, he "decided" he had cancer. However, he never got it diagnosed by any doctor. He'd been making cryptic remarks about "taking care of the problem", but we thought we'd talked him out of it.

I guess this morning, he decided he didn't want to be a burden to anyone (as if), so he went to the cemetery with his shotgun, and shot himself. My dad is really shaken up, and is now blaming himself. I tried to tell him that uncle Dick made the choice to end his life, and there was nothing more that any of us could have done. We've opened our homes and hearts to him for the last 76 years, but in the end, it was his decision. It's cold comfort for my dad, though.

I hate to see dad going through this. It was just last year that he lost his sister to cancer. He's really having a hard time. If you could add him to your prayers, I'd be grateful.

Thanks for letting me share this.

Glynis -- your dad is definitely in my prayers.

Well, it's off to bed for me now! I've finished up all the laundry and packing for our camping trip tomorrow. We'll be gone until Saturday afternoon. I'll try to check in tomorrow morning, and I'll definitely check in Saturday night.

Until then, :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for Tammi! These next few days will be rough, and I'm just sick that I won't be here for you. Please know that I'll be thinking about you all the time, and praying for you and the kids each and every day!

To the rest of you: Hold down the fort, and take care of each other! Love ya, all!

Have a great trip! I hope you have :sunny: skies and lots of fun!

Have a great day!

Our Sunday School Teacher challenged us all on Sunday about the morning devotion time and my Doctor told me months ago about 30 minutes on the treadmill everyday. I have my bad cholesterol down but now I am trying to get my good cholesterol up. Plus...........I was able to get the dishwasher unloaded and loaded again with no dishes in the sink. I am going to be out the door in about 10 minutes and I feel like I have been able to get a lot accomplished this morning.

Talk to ya'll later............Lynn

Good Morning DDA!

Wanted to catch up as I spent all weekend out and about. Emma lost her 4th tooth last night so I think we are done for a while. Today is her last day of school! :Pinkbounc I am more excited than her as it means no schedule to follow for the next 2 months!

Tammi, :grouphug: to you and to Nicholas and Alyssa as you face this. I don't have any words of wisdom to offer, except that with the strength of the DDA behind you I am positive you will get through this. I am so sorry. The 3 of you will be in my prayers.

Glynis, How sad. My neighbors close friend comitted suicide last year and it is something that she has had a hard time dealing with. :grouphug: to your family as they deal with this, especially your dad. On a lighter note, Have fun camping!

Vicki, Here's :wizard: for Chuck, that the medicine starts working and that the drs can give you some answers. :grouphug: to you as you go through this.

Jennifer, :welcome: home! Can't wait to hear more about the trip! So happy that the house closing went smoothly and that you are getting settled in. How exciting for you and Kyle. Here's :wizard: that your utilities get hooked up fast.

Becky, :bday: Sounds like a great birthday, even with the few bumps!

Denise, Great pictures of the kids with their bikes! Emma says  to Rees, Davis and Brantley-Kate. She is very excited that she has now lost that 4th tooth as it has caught her up to her new friend, BK.

Amy, Love the pictures of Alyssa. She is such a cutie! :goodvibes Hopefully you feel better. I hated being pregnant the 2nd time around near the end, somehow it isn't quite as fun as the first time! :wizard: to getting an offer on the house and to getting settled before Matthew makes his apperance!

Jennifer, Glad to hear the tooth is getting better. I hate the caffiene withdrawl headaches!

Lynn, Way to go on the weight loss! :cheer2:

I know I missed some so here's :cheer2: :grouphug: :wizard: to those!

Thanks Jo! We will be going in March, not sure of the exact date yet. We will be staying in Paris & take the train to Disneyland. We were thinking 2 days for DLP, is this to much time, could we do it in a day? Our plans are to stay in Paris for 4 days, 2 of those going to DLP. Our trip will start in Switzerland, we are planning on 2 weeks of traveling. I would love to go in warmer weather, but that is dh's busy time for work.

I would say if you have only 4 days in Paris.
I would only use 1 @ DLP.
I would rather miss a few things @ DLP than the city it self.
Have a great trip.

I KNEW I must have missed some posts last night!!

Kristine:

Congrats to Christopher!! That is so cool!! :cheer2:

In an odd bit of It's a Small World. Turns out my boss, the preacher man, is the voice of a Disney character. He is Dripper, an inhouse character for water conservation and recycling (?). If you take the backlot tour the character is on the water tower. I just find it funny that the man is a water drip!! :teeth:

HI EVERYBODY!!!!

I am so sorry that I haven't been around much lately  . I have missed everybody SO much, and I have been reading (as much as I can)!!!

Life has been crazy!!!! I think that the last time I posted was around Kyle's 1st Communion (which went SO great), and it seems like the craziness hasn't stopped since!!! We had pool put in a few weeks ago and OH MY GOSH, I don't think that we would have done it if we had of known how incredibly much work we had to do in the yard once it was installed. The salesman that sold us our pool was so vague as too how much we would have to do :confused3 !!!! But for the most part we have the work under control now and hopefully the weather will warm up soon and we can finally enjoy it!!!! The kids absolutely LOVE it!!!!

We just got back from a week long vacation with Dave's whole family (19 of us total in one house :scared1: ), it definitely wasn't as bad as I was imagining, and most importantly I think my kids will have a ton of memories from spending the week w/ their cousins and aunt's and uncle's!!! We went to Nag's Head N.C., it was beautiful, and very low key, it was truly one of our most relaxing vacations ever!!!! Our weather was really good but not terribly warm, we all came back with tans though, and we swam and did the beach everyday!!!

We are now looking forward to a short vacation in Gatlinburg in July w/ some friends, and we are already counting down to our December Disney Vacation!!!!

The kids are out of school for the summer  , and I am SO sad that I am now the mom to a first and third grader, where does the time go???? Kyle is tutoring w/ his braille teacher this summer, this helps him SO much to stay ahead w/ his braille work!!! I am incredibly proud to say that Kyle has been placed in the accelerated classes for next year, you can't even imagine how much of an accomplishment this is for him. We are SO proud that he has overcome all of the stumbling blocks associated with a person with a disability and is thriving and working above his level in school!!!!

I am still working hard on my diet and I have now lost 38 lbs. since March, but I haven't lost anything in the last few weeks and I am bummed. At least I didn't gain anything on vacation!!!! If anyone has any tips or suggestions I am all ears!!!

That is about all that has been going on here, I am so sorry that I have been incognito lately, but I truly have missed everybody and I promise to be back on more often now that things are slowing down!!!!

If anything major is going on let me know, I know I am out of the loop on a lot of things, so let me know!!!! For everything that I have missed though :wizard: :cool1: :cheer2: :grouphug: (OH YAY NEW SMILIES!!!!) :wave2:  pixiedust: :bday: :welcome: etc.etc.!!!!

Talk to you soon!!!!
Julie

Good morning :sunny: This is post 2000for me!!!!!!

We are back from Holland MI! Had a blast! I'll post pics when I can get them uploaded into Photobucket. My "almost" nephew is getting SO BIG! He'll be a year on July 18th. The boys went to Chicago for a White Sox/Indians baseball game, and the girls (and nephew) went to the mall shopping. I found my nephew this adorable onsie outfit, red with hawaiian flowers with Goofy surfing on the back! He wore it to the beach on Sunday.

Good luck with your new routine :wizard:

Congratulations Emma! I agree about school being out, I am so happy to not have to worry about getting the boys up & out the door! Riley did start summer school today though. But it is only for about 6 weeks & he will get 3 day weekends. This was not mandantory for him, but with all the trouble he had this past school year I thought it might help.

Morning all. Headed to the pool. Chanon, if I book a cruise earlier (ie when the dates are released), can I transfer the reservation to you in January and get the extra benefits? We are AAA members and have transferred regular Disney packages for incentives. If so, that would be AWESOME and give you some DDA business. Supposedly, the spring/summer 2008 DCL dates should be released in the next few months (before Jan).

Be back later.
