First we have to stay off the roads in MI because of Vicki's DD Becky.... NOW we have to stay of the roads in GA because of these wild and crazy three!!!

Great picture!!!
You might want to add MA to that list. My 2 older ones just took the training wheels off their bikes. :rotfl:

I've never heard it pronounced Carolynn when it's spelled Caroline. Are you sure those people aren't really named Carolyn(n)? I'll have to ask Julie if she has problems with it because she has a Caroline. It's like the Neil Diamond song, Sweet Caroline.

I get mad when people call Christopher Chris. I figured his friends would do it but it's adults we have the problem with!! GRRR!!!!

PS I still like Tammi too :teeth:
Needless to say I will not be showing this unofficial poll to Brian!

Two of the Caroline's I know (both 70+) get really mad when people say Carol lyn. It is Caro line. They both say it so angry as if it has been happening for what 70 years???

Just a thought....

Amy-loved your carosel photos! My Emma would love the shark! :wizard: Hope you get some good bites on your house.

Are the kids still going to your Dad's house??? I think ODTT ought to work for his kindness. ;)

My kids usually end up at my parents house one night each weekend so he will expect ODTT anyway ;) Ithought it would be nice to get away for the day, but who knows what we'll end up doing.

Lynn - How is swim team going? Congratulations on 1,000! Your girl's night sounds like fun! I feel your pain with the heat. Yesterday it was almost 100 with high humidity. We had a cool front today and it only reached the low 90's . We're also in a drought.

Swim team is going great. The boys really enjoy it. It does make for really long Thursday nights though.

We did have a great girls night. The rest of the family went out to dinner and to go see Cars. I was going to surprise the boys this weekend and take them to the movie but this worked out best. I had the house to myself with my 5 girlfriends from about 6pm until 9:30pm. We had a lot of fun!!

Today was a weird weather day. I am sure it is because of TS Alberto but it was very cool weather today.

OK - I think I just spotted the TF. She put the $ and pixie dust under his pillow, and then put the tooth in the little 'My First Tooth' keepsake thingy on his nightstand, and sprinkled PD there, too. Good?

That's great Tammi. You done good. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

If y'all can stand any more posts from me tonight, I'd like to do an unofficial poll.

We're down to 2 names and I'm interested to know which you like better and how many girls you know with these names. I checked the popular baby name lists and they're #22 and #82 (out of 100).

Anyway, the two names are Caroline and Lauren. The middle name is Elizabeth. Our last name will go well with all of them. I don't want to post it here but if you can't choose without knowing, PM me :teeth: .

One name is DH and Christopher's favorite. The other is my favorite.

I only know of one other Caroline but several Laurens. My favorite is Caroline Elizabeth. Sounds very southern...........like a true southern belle!!!

Ok, I have a dilemma. I switched the reservation to ASMo and now John is very upset and mad. Turns out *HE* is the true resort snob, not me. And he's upset that Rees won't have the CM hotel, the monorail, and the MK View. So now I'm totally torn as what to do.

He says the $1600 is worth it for the convenience, the nicer rooms, view, and CM and the monorail for Rees. So should I just chalk it up and switch it back? I really don't know what to do.

Thanks.

It looks like Chris has decided that we will not be going to bike week this weekend. He saw how much stress I was under and made the decision for me. I knew there was a reason that I love him so much. Now I'm trying to think of something else for us to do.

Deb

I love him too!!   Thanks Chris!!

I vote for (drum roll please)...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
CAROLINE

We do call our Caroline, Carli but just because it is short and cute and a little bit easier to spell. I have never heard anyone call her Carolyn, but I have had a lot of people tell me that they wished I would just call her Caroline, because it is such a beautiful, classic name. I hope in the future (when she is a successful doctor or lawyer) she will go by Caroline. She thinks that it is really cool that she has 2 first names!!! Most importantly how many people can actually claim to have a Neil Diamond song named after them (except Angelina & Brad's baby girl, and also anyone named Cracklin' Rosie :rotfl: )!!! I have already informed her that she will be dancing with her daddy to "Sweet Caroline" when she gets married!!!

I did struggle when I was prego w/ her on how I should spell her name, since I knew we would call her Carli. I debated briefly on spelling it Carolyne, and spelling it Carly or Carlye. I also have no trouble finding personalized things for Caroline but I have never found anything for Carli.

My Caroline is Caroline Grace, and I love Caroline Elizabeth!!!!

Whew, now that I got that off of my chest  !!!!!

I've been thinking because I'm totally baffled by this. Carolyn(n) and Caroline are two very different names here. They don't sound similar at all. Maybe it's a regional thing because here the emphasis is on "line" in Caroline and in Carolyn the emphasis is on "car" (pronounced care).

I thought we'd have more of a problem with Lauren being called Laurie or Laura since here they sound similar when pronounced. I've had my name (Dawn) mistaken for Lauren.

This definitely has me curious. I might have to start a thread on the CB asking people how they pronounce the 2 different names!

Well, I'm off to bed too. I have to be up at 4am to leave the house by 4:30am so I can make my meeting in Traverse City tomorrow. After the meeting, I'll head to Lansing to pick Becky up on Thursday. I should be able to get online tomorrow night but it depends on how tired I am after the early morning. Take care!!!!

They are both great, but my vote is for Lauren. I know fewer Lauren's then Caroline's. I also agree about the mispronounciation and do think it is easier than 2 c names, but either is beautiful.

Dawn, so glad you had a good check up. I vote for Caroline. I've never heard it mispronounced, unless you count having 5 syllables in a 3 syllable name... car-o-li-i-ne

Tammi, congrats to Nicholas! The tooth fairy leaves $5 here for the first tooth and $2 thereafter.

I am so sorry - I forgot to check back in - it went well

he was SO good - I told him they were going to listen to his heart and that he had to lay still and they would put stickers on him - he laid right down on the table and didn't move or talk until she told him he could! I guess he remembered what happened when he didn't lay still for the catscan!!

The test didn't seem erratic to me - but the nurse did say she saw some irregularities but she didn't know what they meant - so they will get back to me in about 48 hours - so I am guessing Friday - especially since my doctor only works on Tuesday and Friday!!

We went to McDonald's and got him a happy meal - that was his reward - which he knew ahead of time - and he would do anything for cars - the toys are REALLY nice!! Although he did say to the nurse - me good boy now me go see cars again!!! Good thing Steve and I want to see it and we plan on going to see it this weekend with them!!

Glad Nick's tests went well today.

I personally would pronounce it the way you describe if they were spelled that way. However, many others are not so great at spelling and would probably pronounce it whatever way they are used to.

I wouldn't expect Lauren to be pronounced any other way. To me, Lauren doesn't have an automatic nickname like Carolyn and/or Caroline has Carol.

I'd be interested in finding out what you find out on the community board.

Well, everyone, I may not be posting as much as usual, although I will keep up with the thread, as it's an escape from realty. John has told me he wants a divorce, and as you can imagine, I am devastated. I am scared to death of what this is going to do to our kids. He has taken them out for the day and he wants to "talk" to them tonight. They have absolutely no idea. No, our marriage has not been blissfully happy lately, but I had no idea that it reached this point. I have not told my parents, which is a phone call I am dreading. If any of you who have been through this, especially with little kids, can offer me some advice, I would really appreciate it.

Oh Tammi I am so sorry to hear this. I have no advice for you as a mom or wife but my mother divorced twice and I know the last one sucked bad (I was the middle child (8 or 9 yrs old) through all of it... not fun at all). I will tell you that being the kid during that time was not fun at all and to this day my brother will not talk to his dad (older sis and I have 1 dad and brother has a different dad).
I can also tell you that if you do not work it out (and I will pray every day and night that you do) I have some advice from a child view. Things such as NEVER speak ill of John infront of the kids....Alsways help them to get gifts for him for fathers day, birthday and Christmas. Why? Because it shows them you are a good person and care about them even if mom and dad don't live under thae same roof.
My former stepfather would say bad things to use kids about my mom and for all those things, none of use speak to him at all. It is very sad because it has been just about 30 years now.
Tammi if I can help in anyway please PM me and I will give you my number.
