So as a long time fan of POTC, what do you think of them adding the new characters to the attraction. There seem to be a lot of people upset about them ruining an already great attraction. I love POTC. It is probably one of my top 3 attractions. However, Walt was about innovation as well as traditions. I like the idea of maintaining the integrity of the attraction but adding some new characters. JMHO.

It doesn't bother me a bit! Especially after seeing the video clip that Kelli sent. It looks really unobtrusive to me. Can't wait to see it in person!

Thank you Vicki!

We haven't 100% determined where yet but the plan is to have one place in DL & WDW that everyone gets their picture with knowing that others were in that exact spot on their trip. Then we will share them with the rest of the DDA upon our return. For myself, I want to print them out and put them in my DDA friends scrapbook. I like the June's Goofy statue in WDW.

Then Kate had another great idea that we all get our picture with a character. Clare suggested it be our favorite character. As we share them, Kate will create a collage with all of them together.

Yippie! :cheer2:

I've reimaged my laptop (basically wiped it out and started from scratch). The buildabear site won't come up for me. Can someone try it to let me know if it is the security on my laptop or whether the site is having a problem? The site is http://www.buildabear.com and it just shows a blank screen when I try it. Thanks.

ETA: Forget it! Now it works. It hadn't worked for hours. I tried doing a search to make sure I had the right site name and it didn't come up. But I just tested the link I posted here, and it works. Go figure.

Riley had his ear pierced when he was 8. When he 1st asked me I told him when he turned 13, but he kept trying to do it himself  Garrett has not shown any interest in having his ear pierced.

What about the boys? :lmao:

Childrens clothing sells pretty good, especially in bigger lots. Not sure about the swing & highchair due to shipping.

Speaking of ebaying, how does kids stuff sell on there? I have all my baby supplies, swing, high chair, ect., which are all in really good condition. Plus boxes upon boxes of clothes. I keep everything thinking I would take it all to a consignment shop, but they take so much of the profit up front, I don't think I would make what it is worth.

Glynis you asked for this awhile ago.

Amazing German Chocolate Cake
Recipe from:
Chocolate from the Cake Mix Doctor
by Anne Byrn
Cookbook Heaven at Recipelink.com

Serves: 16
Baking Time: 48 To 52 Minutes
Preparation Time: 8 Minutes

· Vegetable oil spray for misting the pan

· Flour for dusting the pan

· 1 package (18.25 ounces) plain German chocolate cake mix

· 1 container (15 ounces) coconut pecan frosting

· 1 cup water

· 1/3 cup vegetable oil

· 3 large eggs

1. Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly mist a 12-cup Bundt pan with vegetable oil spray, then dust with flour. Shake out the excess flour. Set the pan aside.

2. Place the cake mix, frosting, water, oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat 2 minutes more, scraping the sides down again if needed. The batter should look thick and well combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it out with the rubber spatula. Place the pan in the oven.

3. Bake the cake until it springs back when lightly pressed with your finger, 48 to 52 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool for 20 minutes. Run a long, sharp knife around the edge of the cake and invert it onto a rack to cool completely, 20 minutes more.

4. Slide the cake onto a serving platter and slice.

** Store this cake, wrapped in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, or in a cake saver or under a glass dome, at room temperature for up to 1 week. Or freeze it, wrapped in foil, for up to 6 months. Thaw the cake overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

This looks so yummy! I can't wait to try it! Thanks for remembering!

Thanks Janet and Jo. That's what's held me back from ebaying anything.....to much of a pain to figure out how to box things up. Maybe in August when people start school shopping I will put some stuff on there.

With Glynis back we can bring this up again. I would like to make this a final vote for the DL meet in 2007. Here is what I have so far. The three majority month started as Feb, Mar and Sept. The lat time I asked this is what people answered as far as picking between Feb, Mar and Sep.
So please think about it and if you'd like to add your name, that would be great.
As soon as it looks like we have a month (I think we already have one, but I have to ask again anyway) the we will start the palnning process and ROE and SOE. (do you know what ROE and SOE stands for?) Any and all guesses are welcome.

make a four berry jam
1C of each berry (add blueberries)
This is one of my faborites
And how about berry pies?
Or berries for shakes or fruit drinks?

Can I come over?:)

Sure, you can come anytime, as long as you bring your girls. My kids would love to play with them.

I make a pretty good raspberry freezer jam, and have had good success by adding peaches or apricots to the berries. Makes for a yummy taste.

Have I mentioned how much I love to can? I can't wait for my salsa garden to start producing!

Haven't made it, Glynis, but my Mom used to make currant jelly every year when I was growing up. I have to tell you that she was not a great "canner" so it must not be too hard. Plus... it is YUMMY!

Currant jelly is my secret ingredient in my Thanksgiving gravy! So yummy! I can't wait to make my own and not have to pay an arm and a leg for a tiny jar of currant jelly this November.
