So what is everyones plans for the forth of July?

We usually go camping with my parents, but since I have to work on Monday (I'm the only one...waaaahhhh) we aren't going. We're all disappointed. As far as the 4th itself, I work online that night, so we'll just stay home :)

I just posted this on the Disney Dining Plan board but wanted to ask everyone here as well.

DH & I are going for a trip in December. I'm considering the DDP. However, we have both cut back quite a bit on our portions in the last year as a weight loss measure. There is no way that we could eat an appetizer, entree & dessert at a meal. We'd be lucky to eat all of that if we shared. Can we order just one meal per sitting and share with the DDP? So then we could have two sit down meals a day. Or do you both have to use the DDP when dining together? I really don't know if it is worth it for us. I'm happy to leave more of a tip for the servers since we would be sharing a meal and it would still be extra work with the extra person.

Vicki -- you have probably already gotten answers, but when we went last December, we were allowed to share meals. We love table service, so this worked well for us. We did as you talked about, and left a tip to make up for eating on only one credit. We also paid out of pocket for the kids meals some of the time and didn't have a problem doing that.

Just a fly by post.

Update on my transfer.
I didn't get the it.
Reason being all our Lexford division sold yesterday.
I didn't want to also transfer companies.
So back to looking at job postings in my field.

Not happy we won't be moving.
I'm happy to be staying with my company.
I will just have to keep looking.

I can't say thank you all enough for your good wishes.

Bummer, I hope something opens up for you soon! :goodvibes

I need opinons on where we should eat this trip.
Thinking of LTT before MVMCP
Candlelight processional coral reef or le cellier
Hollywood and vine (JOJO) breakfast or lunck
Princess Breakfast at norway or lunch
Chef Micky or Ohana Breakfast
1900 park fare dinner
Crystal Palace Breakfast, lunch or Dinner
we have dinning plan so we will have 7 sit down meals. I also have a gift card for rainforest cafe should we do breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Do they have a cake? You could order one of those miniature wedding cakes from GF ;)

I was going to look into that. I do have a cake topper if I need it. It is actually two little figurines - one of Mickey & one of Minnie - all dressed up. They are really cute.

All right all: I am going to bed, I have been unable to get rid of this headache permanently. I am going to go nuts I think!!

I'm off to bed too. I was up too late last night waiting for Stephanie to see the news about Tommy so I wasn't able to read. Talk to you all tomorrow!

Yet another update--

Ive had some PMs asking for an update..I went to the hospital yesterday and again tonight. I got to see him in the trauma ICU. He has alot of machines hooked up and everything..but he looked better than what i was picturing. He is still on the ventilator, and will be having surgery in a couple of days to do a trach. His fever has broken. The other injuries are still the same. They are basically holding off on things to see how and when he stabilizes more.

His daughter will be leaving the hospital soon hopefully, and his niece went home yesterday.

The fire department held a blood drive today and received 105 units of blood, as well as some cash donations. We are working on putting together some fundraisers to help out the family and it looks like the newspaperse are already reporting that and some checks have been coming in--thats going to be such a huge help to the family!

Thank you ALL for all of your prayers--i told them that i have so many people asking about them and praying.t.hey say thank you
That's great news about the daughter and niece. Continued prayers that he will get better.

Hi Jennifer! I honestly don't know if I'm coming or going anymore. LOL!! I've been spending a lot of time outside, work is crazy, the girls are involved in swimming lessons, Kaelyn's in dance and Stephanie's in soccer. My grandpa moved into a residental living place so my parents and Craig and I have been cleaning out his house. Last weekend was the first weekend in a month that wasn't spent over at his house.

I'm also a little sad as last year at this time, we were planning for our trip and now we can't go anywhere. Oh well, I get to live vicariously through the DDA ;)

How's it going with you?
I need to call about getting Olivia swim lessons. Planning her birthday party. fighting HA's

So the Server has decided it wants to be busy. It sure better be cleaning up the flood waters around here.

The sun was out today, but some of the major roadways are still going to be closed for a few days as they are completly underwater. In The City of Reading no one was allowed in or out for several hours. In areas you can't flush your toilet as they don't want you to contribute to the overflooded sewage beds. It might rain here again tomorrow.

Here are some pictures of the area around where I live. Photos are courtesy of my brother. I am considering getting up early tomorrow driving my car and then walking so I can see how over full Blue Marsh Lake and Dam is. It is three feet higher than the maximum height they created it for. It is a Man made Dam and Lake which they made to prevent flooding up and down the area but it is extremely flooded itself. If it wouldn't be there I couldn't imagine how bad it would be.

Do you think it would be more cost effective to get the DDE for AP holders (we'll be getting AP's this year when we go)? There is no way that we'll get the DDP in March because my girls are even lighter eaters than DH & I. Plus, we tend to eat lots of little meals (as recommended now by doctors) rather than 3 large ones. If I understand the DDE correctly, I could be the one to get the DDE and then get the discount on all of our meals (as long as we eat together). Just trying to figure out the most cost effective solution for us.
That would probably be best for you. The DDE. Last year when Terry and I went, I had the DDE for our drinks and other OOP food and we had the dining plan (it was free) for our meals.

Terry is not a big eater either, but having the plan and not looking at prices was really a plus for us.

I'm getting the DDP (paying for it) so my sister won't have to watch what she orders and we can try out the appt, entre and desserts without worrying about cost. She would NEVER order a dessert if it wasn't included. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes I want her to experience one of my favorite things to do while in Disney... Dining!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

So before I post the destructive pictures from the storm I want to post some from yesterday at Atlantic City. Boy, I have been posting a lot of pictures reccently.

Here are the fun fur flip flops I made, next time I am using a solid color or two different skeins or something as the variegated didn't end up an even pattern.
