I need to rethink my costume ideas now for MNSSHP. Anyone have any suggestions for my mom, myself, Nicholas and Alyssa?

Mary Poppins, the 2 kids, and either the mom or the housekeeper?

Tia did you get my email?

I did! I have to add Christi's info when I get home today and then see where the paths cross. So far it looks like the party is our best bet since you've insisted on going on your own EMH heavy schedule. :teeth: ;) I wish Terra would sleep in like that!

We just got home from a day of running around and dodging downpours.

For whatever reason, this morning Alyssa told me that she wanted to get her ears pierced. Now this is a change for her because I made the mistake of telling her that it was going to hurt a little bit the last time she asked to have them done. So for the past 8 months or so she was adamant about NOT having them done. When I picked her up from VBS I asked if she still wanted to get her ears pierced. Yes, she said. So off to McDonalds we went for lunch and then to the mall. She picked out little pink flowers with a clear center. She sat up in the chair, and luckily there were two girls working the piercings, so I got both her ears done at the same time, just in case she backed out after one. She didn't even cry! She was so proud of herself and now gazes in the mirror. After that I took her and bought her ballet slippers for the summer class that she is going to start on the 10th of July. My little girl is growing up!!!!!

Very cute, Alyssa!!! I like them! My 10yo sister is still balking out of fear though at the same time she really wants them done.

Update on my BIL....

Brendan and Erin met with the doctor on Monday. The doc said that Brendan has probably had the disease that caused the cirrhosis (Erin couldn't remember the name at the time, but is starts with "s") since he was young if not birth as it usually takes over well over a decade to cause as much damage as he has (he's 21). His siblings will need to be aware of the possibility and his twin brother should be tested soon (unfortunately he has no insurance and probably won't heed that advice :( ).

Brendan will probably need a transplant in 2-5 years. There is a medication that could help slow the progression and delay the transplant by a few years. He will start taking that after a second doctor confirms the diagnosis. That should happen in the next week or so. Also, Brendan will meet with this second doctor in September. The reason for the new doctor is that he is associated with one of the two transplant hospitals in St. Louis whereas the current doctor is not.

After the Sept appointment they will start the phych, cardio and other exams needed to be put on the transplant list. Then they will get him on the list as a very low priority. Then as the time comes that the transplant is necessary he will be ready to go and just bumped up as needed/allowed.

Also, the doctor said that though he has not experienced any outward symptoms yet, he probably will in the next 6 months or so due to the current level of damage and progression.

So...that is where we stand now. Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

I vote for the gift card. People can be very specific about their wants/needs when it comes to strollers.

would you get it at babies r us or target?

they each have different selections

Our babiesrus here has a much bigger selection than target, so I would say BRU, IMO.

Before I forget, we got Chuck's x-ray results. It shows degenerative arthritis in his spine & hands. Don't know exactly what that means (you nurses might). I did a little research on the internet and scared myself. We see the doctor again in 2 weeks so decided I better wait to talk to him before getting myself worked up. Reminder to self: Vicki try not to worry about things before you know the details. It just ruins today. The prednisone is helping but we think he needs to split it & take half at night and half in the morning (instead of all in the morning). The doctor told us he could do that if he needed to. Chuck wanted to give it a week to see how he does. He wakes up quite stiff in the morning. He is back to work but is tired in the evenings.

He also wants to go do something fun and for himself so what does he choose ... kayaking. I'm really worried to try to give it a try! What will I do if his hands cramp up and we can't get to shore! I'd have to try and tow him (we always have a tow rope with us as I teach kayak safety). Or worse, he can't get out of the kayak. I picture me having to tip him into the water to get him out of it. I think I'm going to try him into geocaching instead. He is not having any trouble walking and we like to explore new areas.

Thanks again for all the thoughts & prayers.

I am glad that the medication is helping so far. I have to agree with Steffy's advice and don't read to much online yet, it will only scare you. There are so many different variables for each person. I would wait for the doctor to give you more info first then start researching the things you can do to help. Phil does that all of the time and it drives me crazy as he is such a pessimist to begin with that he zeros in on the worst possible scenerio each time. :wizard: and :grouphug: to you both!

The stuffy skins are twice as much as what they are in the store on eBay. Don't even look. They aren't worth it.

Do you have your source lined up yet, Vicki? My best friend walks to DL almost weekly and I'm sure she'd be willing to help out.

Hey

my sister is looking for BABW at myrtle beach this week -

if she gets them - could I send her the coupons and money to get the skins if my source falls through?

ETA:

I didn't even notice this was post 8000!!!!!

Thanks for noticing June!!

I have someone that was going to get back with me. Let me see what they say. If I don't hear anything this week, I'll definitely ask you to see if your best friend can do it! That would be awesome!

p.s. I started typing this two hours ago and I just now had a chance to get back to it. and it makes no sense to me now so I am deleting!!! :confused3

Warning! Do not let Pal Mickey see this post! Warning!

Minnie went dress shopping today. She found the perfect dress. It has the veil, ballet slippers, & bouquet. She wanted to show it to all of you to see if it will be ok for the wedding so she threw it on over her street clothes so that I could get a quick picture. What do you all think? It does need some alterations as it is a little big (so we currently have it pinned in back). The bouquet and slippers are on the front of her dress in the 1st picture (they are kind of hard to see). She is holding the bouquet in the 2nd picture.

Wow - she looks just beautiful princess:

Just got this in the all ears newsletter which might be of interest to some of you...

... from an anonymous reader: The Disney Dining Plan is now experimenting at Deluxe Resorts with allowing room service under the program. This should go into "full" mode by July and be part of the plan. Each room service meal counts as two table-service options

Why do you like 38? I haven't made any requests yet. I just pulled out our map from the last time we stayed there (in 1996). We were in building 37, and we really liked that location. It was very convenient to the North Depot and a quiet pool. I enjoyed the walk to the main building and pool area. I have heard that many people like to request 14 and 18, but I think that I like the area around 37 and 38 better. I just haven't decided whether I want to make a request or see what fate has in store for me.

Beth
Beth - is that a new signature? It's very cool! Did you make it or Kate? My one piece of feedback would be to slow it down a tad as it's quite speedy :goodvibes JMHO - do with it what you wish :)
