ATTENTION

I will be at the shore starting tomorrow and will be back home next Friday. There is an internet cafe close by, but I don't know if I will get there unless DH goes fishing and lets me have the car. I do have to check out the shops since I told Steffy that we might have to change the location of our yearly shore shopping trip.
I know when someone goes away they ask everyone to keep the posting down to a dull roar. You can see how that works :lmao:

So I will just say, KEEP POSTING lots and lots :lmao:

and no I will not post pictures unless I am taking them. :rotfl2:
I would scare ya'll, especially if I was wearing a bathing suit which I will not.
Have a wonderful time, Terry!!!

Something disturbing happened tonight, and I'm not really sure what I should have done. I just know that I didn't do the right thing.

I was walking home from a very lovely Art Show/Ice Cream Social at the elementary school. Thank goodness my kids weren't with me. This man that I know only a little (though he has become the Scout Master for our Cub Scout pack and is an assistant leader in Miles' den), started screaming horrible things to his older (perhaps 4th grade) son. Something happened between him and the younger son (1st grade), and the 1st grader was bleeding on his face. I didn't see what happened, but I got the sense that it was accidental, not malicious. I just couldn't believe the words that this man was screaming at his son. The mother was doing nothing. I am very embarrassed to say that I also did nothing, though I came home sobbing (and I'm getting teary as I write this). Dh said that I was right to stay out of it, but I just can't help feeling for that little boy. I can't believe this is a one time thing. You don't flip out in public like that. He was truly awful. I can't even write the things he was saying, absolute obscenities and things that must have made that child feel like an absolute nothing. Even if the older one did something on purpose, the man's behavior was totally uncalled for.

Miles will no longer be allowed to be anywhere near that man, but what should I have done for the son? The boys don't know me at all, nor does the mother. I feel like I let a helpless child down completely. And I'm in tears again...

Beth

Beth,

The one thing you have to remember is that there is nothing you can do to help, nothing. Unless the wife asks for help, she will probably never admit there is a problem or even realize it. It is possible that she would get backlash if anyone did try to help. Just know that having seen him go off like that you are justified in keeping Miles away. You do not have to offer that man any reason why either. That also might set him off and you don't need to be around that. I would tell someone higher up than him so he is not involved with other Scouts anymore. JMHO

I swear that the first post didn't go thru because it said the server was busy :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

I didn't know we were sharing the brain. I promise you can have it back tomorrow since I will not need it for the next week :lmao: :lmao:

Just stopped by to say night and to have a great weekend! I think I'm turning into Becky and her work stories...we've been swamped lately...one person on vacation, two just left for other jobs, we had two new people start, but they are still at the stage of "how do I answer this person with the right answer"...I've worked this week from 8am to 6pm, and I force myself to leave at lunchtime, even if it is only to go sit in the car to get away! I'm done tomorrow at 12:45pm then off to Michigan for the weekend. Gonna see my nephew (and got suckered into babysitting, oh darn! :teeth: ) so have a great weekend everyone!!!

Just hope that she doesn't bruise it like Denise did ours!

I promise I will not hurt it at all. Right now I am already on down time. I left work and promised that I would not think of it for the next week.

Even though it will be very busy with the last minute people still trying to get their kids signed up for our camps---they only knew about them since April or even before :lmao:

Terry -- have a terrific time at the shore.

Chanon -- have fun in Michigan with your nephew.

Beth -- you did the right thing.

Kate -- good luck tomorrow at the Dr.

Beth I agree with Terry. I would definatelly report it ti someone so he was not involved with the kids any more. I would also file an annoymous report with CPS. it proablly wont do anything but at least their will be a written report.
:grouphug: for you having to witness that.

Beth, please remember that ALL calls to CPS are kept confidential. The parties involved will never be told who made the call.

Jennifer, I didn't mean to sound like I was trying to correct you. It's just that some CPS agencies will not accept an anonymous call, and I didn't want Beth to think that the parties would be told who made the call.
