I had another wild and crazy weekend.

Okay a quick update,
Olivia was feeling better on Sunday so we decided not to take her to the Dr. Instead I ended up going to the Doctor myself. I woke up at 7 with a severe headache. I took my migraine medicine
An hour later it had not gone away and when I took my temp it was 101.3. So I arrive at my appointment. The Dr sees me he asks me if this is the worse Headache I have ever had I said yes my migraines compared to this one is a 7 out of 10 on pain scale this one was a 10. So they give me 50 mg of Demerol and 25 mg of Phenergan. No change in HA. Then they sent me to the ER for evaluation.

So I arrive at the ER at 11am they admit me start an IV give me 5 mg morphine and waiting for a CT Scan. The first dose of Morphine did not touch the HA so on comes the second dose of 5mg of Morphine. Drops it down to a 8 on the pain scale. Chest x-ray done. Lumbar puncture done.
Since I still have HA I am given Dilaudid and phenergan. Eased the HA to a 6on pain scale. The ER Dr. decides to admit me this is about 4 pm. The admitting Dr finally gets their to see me around 8pm at 6pm I was given more Dilaudid because the HA was back to a 9. Finally get to a room at 11pm. Then down to MRI for an MRI and MRA of the Brain and an MRI of the neck. I have swollen tonsils strep. test negative. Lumbar puncture negative. Chest x-ray negative. MRI’s and MRA are all negative. HA was down to a 3 this AM. They gave me some Advil 600mg and I got to eat and have a COKE. The Dr. finally saw me at 1pm we finally got out of the hospital at 3:30pm went to my mom’s to get Olivia.
This was the first time Olivia had stayed the night with anyone. She sleeps in bed with Jeff and I, I am trying to figure out how to break her of it. SO I was really concerned about her but she and my mom slept on an air matress in their living room.
Okay well that’s it for tonight. Going to take my antibiotic and go to bed so Jeff can have the computer

Mail hasn't come yet. Becky and I have to go pick up Katrina from Marquette so we are taking a swing in to town first to see if they have any packages. Mail doesn't usually arrive until after we will be gone. I'll let you know tonight!!! I sure hope so!!!

well the headache is gone. But I think I am trying to get a sinus infection, as every time I blow my nose it is not clear, but yellow. My ears are clogged, and I am out of breath just walking to the kitchen to get Olivia some juice then back to the desk. I have no energy and I am at home alone with an almost 3 year old. who does not understand why mommy cant carry her or play with her.

well the headache is gone. But I think I am trying to get a sinus infection, as every time I blow my nose it is not clear, but yellow. My ears are clogged, I have ni energy and I am at home alone with an almost 3 year old. who does not understand why mommy cant carry her or play with her.

Has anyone ever had a lumbar puncture. i am just wondering how long your back was sore. I did not have an epidural when I had Olivia so I have no clue if it compares to that or not. I can tell you it was a bit painful.

I'm sorry Jennifer. Try hot, moist compresses on your forehead. Sometimes that helps with the drainage.

I am so wanting to go to Disney. Our family trip in Jan 07 can not get here soon enough. I am so desperate that I went to www.googleearth.com and visited all the parks via satellite. It was pretty cool. I couldn't find the Magic Kingdom so I just followed the monorail lines from Epcot thru the resorts until I reach MK!!!! It was so cool......not as good as being there but it was fun.

I missed reading anything from Clare this morning! Hope to have a wonderful day here as Kristin also has the day off. Off to walk the dog and have my weekly weigh-in. Talk to you all later!

No time to check in this morning - I had to leave for work an hour early... so I could finish an hour early and go pick up my new glasses from the opticians... now I just gotta get used to wearing them!

I had one about 15 years ago to rule a pseudo tumor on my optic nerve. I don't remember my back being sore for only a day or two. What I do remember is my DH passing out on me and having to be carried via stretcher to another room to be monitored. They had to bring my mom in there to stay with me. (picture this......laying on my left side in the fetal position being told to remain still w/ no anesthesia or medication) I mentioned that I needed a drink and my mom then ask the Dr. if I can have some water. The Dr. kind of chuckled and told her I was referring to something a little stiffer than water. I survived and all was well though.

Jennifer, to you! I had a lp last summer and my back was really sore the first and second day. By the 3rd day it was still sore but I was able to take care of Molly and Emma by myself. Your back will be bruised for about 2 weeks and tender.

Its not the back that is making it difficult to keep up with Olivia it is that I have absolutelty no energy. I am out of breath by the time I go to the kitchen to get her some more juice and back to the room we are in.
