Good morning, DDAs!
Update on games for Andrew: Well, the DDA good wishes and PD came through again! Andrew had great games last week and his confidence soared!
Our team was in a three way tie for first. On Tuesday, we played one of the teams we were tied with. Andrew played well the first game, getting a couple of hits, and throwing out a couple of people from third base. We did end up losing by two runs.
The next game that night was against the same team. It was a protested game from earlier in the season. (The coach of this team is a horrible man and he threatened my brother, our coach, after that game.)
Anyway, we started in the bottom of the 7th inning, tied 6 - 6 with us at bat and our last batter with one strike against him and no outs. He ended up striking out. We went to the top of our order and that kid walked. He stole to second base. Next up was Andrew. I was so nervous that I turned around. I heard the umpire call a strike, then I heard the ball hit the bat and turned around to see it go foul. I heard the bat hit the ball again and again it went foul. All this time I was praying for a hit. Well, he was hitting the ball with the bat, but it was going foul. This is when I remembered Lynn's advice that she gets very specific during her kids games. I finally said, "God, please let Andrew have a hit out in the field that isn't caught." The next crack of the bat sent the ball flying over the second baseman's head. It sent in the winning run from second base. The game was over and we won. Woo Hoo! I'm so glad that I posted for PD and good wishes. The smile on Andrew's face was priceless at that point, and his confidence soared.
The game on Friday, we did lose, but again, Andrew played well.
Thanks again for all my DDA friends and their help with Andrew's confidence.
Last night, Jake had a very important game and they won. He had three awesome hits -- not bad for a seven year old. They each have two more games, so please keep them in your thoughts that they have fun and play well.
I'm wishing everyone

but not too hot and

for everyone who needs it!
