:( Sorry to hear that.

With my Asthma, I really do believe on the very hot days, my AC is what helps me breath easier.
It does. My oldest has asthma and he does breathe easier when we visit relatives w/ AC than at home during the summer. Someday when we move, one of my criteria will be AC as well as a backyard. :cloud9:

Lynn -- I love TGM... not everyone does, but I swear by his tips. I have subscribed for as long as he has been in business... 4 years??? He saved two of our Christmas trips by updating his website at the last minute and I will be forever grateful for that!
I have a question about TGM. If I subscribe and we're not able to go on our trip as planned, will I be allowed to change the date or will I have to resubscribe?

Good morning, DDAs!

Update on games for Andrew: Well, the DDA good wishes and PD came through again! Andrew had great games last week and his confidence soared!

Our team was in a three way tie for first. On Tuesday, we played one of the teams we were tied with. Andrew played well the first game, getting a couple of hits, and throwing out a couple of people from third base. We did end up losing by two runs.

The next game that night was against the same team. It was a protested game from earlier in the season. (The coach of this team is a horrible man and he threatened my brother, our coach, after that game.)

Anyway, we started in the bottom of the 7th inning, tied 6 - 6 with us at bat and our last batter with one strike against him and no outs. He ended up striking out. We went to the top of our order and that kid walked. He stole to second base. Next up was Andrew. I was so nervous that I turned around. I heard the umpire call a strike, then I heard the ball hit the bat and turned around to see it go foul. I heard the bat hit the ball again and again it went foul. All this time I was praying for a hit. Well, he was hitting the ball with the bat, but it was going foul. This is when I remembered Lynn's advice that she gets very specific during her kids games. I finally said, "God, please let Andrew have a hit out in the field that isn't caught." The next crack of the bat sent the ball flying over the second baseman's head. It sent in the winning run from second base. The game was over and we won. Woo Hoo! I'm so glad that I posted for PD and good wishes. The smile on Andrew's face was priceless at that point, and his confidence soared.

The game on Friday, we did lose, but again, Andrew played well.

Thanks again for all my DDA friends and their help with Andrew's confidence.

Last night, Jake had a very important game and they won. He had three awesome hits -- not bad for a seven year old. They each have two more games, so please keep them in your thoughts that they have fun and play well.

I'm wishing everyone :sunny: but not too hot and :wizard: for everyone who needs it!
:cheer2: WTG andrew and Jake. I hope the rest of their games go just as well.

Dawn - at this age I would go with the old - when a mommy and daddy love each other very much God puts a baby in the mommy's belly as a sign of how much they love each other -

if they ask how - you can just say it happens when the Mommy and Daddy spend special time together

I have also heard the old straight answer - "The daddy has a sperm and it goes into the mommy who has the egg and they grow together to make a baby" sometimes works - it would scare me that Julia would ask how the sperm gets to the egg :lmao:
That's what the script I read said. Mommy and Daddy lie real close and he puts his...near her...and the sperm swims...Gosh I'm blushing just typing this to y'all and I'm supposed to tell it to my 5 year old that would be totally obsessed with the information.

Hope you get to have AC maybe even befor the move. :wizard:

Happy Wednesday, DDA! I have been reading along but not posting. Between the server :badpc: and my headaches, damn humidity, it seemed like a no win situation. I was able to send a few PM's but even that was a chore.

We are in the throes of potty training Molly. She has this amazing ability to strip out of her diaper at the beginning of nap and being able to stay dry until she wakes up but she refuses to use the potty. She will hold it until she has a diaper on. UGH!

So I will probably not be posting a lot until we get past this. I will try to keep up to date as I do not want to get too behind.

Here's :wizard: :grouphug: and :cheer2: to all who need it!
:wizard: Good luck with Molly. Potty training is such a pain. I don't look forward to doing it a 4th time. :guilty:

A little PD for Davis please. He vomited in the middle of dinner (twice- very fun) and is running a 104 fever now. He's missing his class meet at the park tomorrow am now. He's pretty miserable. I just ran down to finally eat some dinner and then I'm headed back to check on him. John's watching Piglet's Big Movie with him right now.

Poor Davis! I hope that it was just too much excitement and sun today and that he's feeling better soon!

Good evening DDA!
just wanted to let you guys know that i did my speech tonight! It wasnt as bad as i thought, but i went 2nd to get it over with....i ended up getting an A!!!!

Next week we have to give an informative speech--i have NO clue what to write at all! its going to be interesting!

Yay, Jen!!!! That is so cool! I knew you could do it!!!!!

As for next week, find something you like, and go with that. I had to do something similar in college, and chose stage makeup as my topic. For my speech, I demonstrated how to create bruises. It went over quite well! Good luck on whatever you choose to do!

First of all I would like to say that it is great to see everyone posting again. I have missed seeing a lot of you.

:grouphug: To kate for option 3. :grouphug: Denise for the job. :grouphug: Rees for the surgery :grouphug: Davis to have a quick recovery. If I missed anyone specifically then here is some extra :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: just for you ;)

I ended up taking Tiffany to the vet again today. They are confident now that she has the immuno dificiency disease, although they aren't sure which one. Apparently the treatment won't change even if we spend $100s on testing. She will now be on prendisone for the rest of her life. Thankfully it is not an expensive drug and we will be changing the dosage until we find the minumum effective dosage for her. Right now she has white pusicules (is that a word) on her anal area and a big one on the tip of her tongue (that has got to hurt). It will probably take a week or so for the sores to go away. I had our male in the car the the Vet (the new one) agreed to look at him too. She does not think that he is at a point to have him put down which is good news as we have been struggling with that decision. She does however feel that his back legs will completely give out by the end of summer or fall. When that happens we will have no choice but to put him down. He is so mentally aware and wants to be a puppy, but his body is just giving out. She also gave me a prescription for another med which will work in combination with his current arthritis med. I will have to get a price for it at a drug store. Hopefully it isn't too expensive as his current meds are $60/mth already. After the Vet visit I had to completely vacuum my car as it was covered in dog hair :sad2:

The kids are in bed, but Nick keeps getting up complaining that he isn't feeling right. He has had a little cough and has a nasty cold sore in his nose so I won't be surprised if he is sick in the morning. Summer can't get here fast enough for me.

On a bright note, I held our last den meeting of the year tonight. We just have the Pack Picnic on Saturday then we have a break until September. I may try to get them together this summer to do an aquanaut unit, but I'll wait and see on that one. I need to put the awards together before Saturday, but at least I know it is the last time for this year!!! :teeth:

You can change your dates as often as you would like. I first bought TGM almost 3 years ago for a trip that has yet to happen. I finally just used that subscription for last Dec and will purchase again for our big family trip next Feb.

He doesn't complain about headaches anymore but he does this sniffing or blowing or something with his nose - that I know indicates it is bothering him - I am going to try to go see the doctor with him this week
:wizard: I certainly hope they figure this out.

I wondered if someone would ask ;)

You guys probably call them candy canes or something. They are sticks of flavoured hard candy that look like this:

cnv0403.jpg

They are sold at sea sides up and down the country wrapped in cellophane with the label having a picture of the seaside.

When you bite them they usually have a word inside - the name of the seaside or sometimes your name:

Thanks. Those look cool. :thumbsup2 We have stick candy but I've never seen them with names inside them.

We got home about lunch and the girls were so very happy to see us both. THEN…. It was start getting ready for the weekend away. Now that is another story. I will post that fun filled weekend later.
Usually I think the turtle is good but :worship: maybe we have to get away from the kids for that.?. :rotfl2: Glad you had such a good time. :goodvibes
