No sweetie I KNOW you are nuts!!! :lmao:

The only reason I know this is because you are my twin and I am nuttier than a fruitcake so you must be too!!

At least we share that too!!! BTW, do you have any brothers & sisters (besides me, of course)?

I am the eldest. I have a brother 2 years younger than me. He is the one in Japan. He married about 2 years ago (it was a quickie wedding when he found out he was going to Japan so that she & the kids could go with him). She has 5 kids. He is the brother whose wife just had the baby. I have a sister 7 years younger than me and she is in Cleveland Ohio area. She is divorced with a son & daughter. I also have an adopted brother that doesn't have much to do with the family anymore. He is 9 years younger and is out west. He is twice married & twice divorced. He is getting married again. He is out west.

Ohhhhhhh!!! Yeah!!! :cheer2:

I have one sister....she is 3 years 3 months and 6 days younger than me. She just had her second son and we will see them this weekend!! :cheer2:
We didn't get along as kids as she has my dad's personality and I have my mom's. She just came to the realization my dad's a not so good guy.....took her a lot longer..she had him up on a high pedestal!!

Yes, I got the one that I wanted!!!!!! Hopefully, Pal Mickey will fit in his new Remote Control Silver Convertible!!!!! I got it for $1 and $14.95 shipping. If he doesn't fit, I'll give it to my nephew when he visits this summer.

Too Funny. I hope mickey fits.

For those of you with kids, do your kids like Build-a-bear still? My daughters loved them. I spent quite a bit of money at BAB during our annual school clothes shopping trip. We drive to Appleton WI every fall for school clothes and we always have to stop at BAB. Of course, now they spend their own money on it because they want as much of my money to go toward clothes!!! :lmao:

Becky has 3 bears, 2 horses, & a dog. One of the bears is dressed in a construction type outfit in honor of my father who worked for the Dept. of Transportation. He sits on her Tinkerbell shelf.

Katrina has a bear & a turtle (Denise don't even start on the turtle talk :rotfl: ). The bear is a ballerina in honor of Grandpa's nickname for her (Twinkletoes).

I guess it is better than a cigarette, gambling, drug, or alcohol addiction. :rotfl2:

Our BAB addiction is bad right now.....and only going to get worse as they are showing free movies every Wednesday outside the BAB store. :teeth:

The girls have two or 3....maybe more..not sure animals a piece. We have also gotten the LE Christmas Rudolph and Frosty. I finally got my own bear last year...the Halloween LE that was orange with candy corn on it's fur.

Well, I better get off to bed before I buy any more from eBay. Have a great night everyone!

Night Vicki!!

We had a friend win tickets to The New Cars and Blondie concert so their son is spending the night....gotta wait until Abi and Dylan are asleep then I can head off!!

I'm off to bed too. Vicki we don't have a build a bear near us. The closest one is about 1 1/2 hours away. My kids all had bears from Vermont Teddy Bear Co though. We toured the factory and they got to put the hearts and stuffing into their bears. The outfits are very pricey though.

Vicki, I think that Pal Mickey is soon going to usurp the Barbie World. :rotfl:
I'm suprised it is still Barbie world and not Pal Mickey world. Perhaps she took those pictures as a memorial because "Please excuse the pixie dust as we are reconstructing Barbie's World for your Pal Mickey's Future enjoyment."

In the summer when it's a bit warmer people sun bathe on the sand on deck chairs that you can rent... it's a typical english seaside... with lots of tacky shops selling cheap souvenirs and sticks of rock and candy floss!

I love to go there for the day but would never sun bathe or swim there!
What are sticks of rock? :confused3

one of my good friends is coming over and were planning on relaxing by the pool all day! Its supposed to be 89 degrees, so it will definitely be pool weather.
I also need to put the finishing touches on my speech and practice that a few times so i get more comfortable doing it.
Its so nice not having classes all day today so i figured its time to be a bum :)
Good luck with your speech. :)

Cleaning. I didn't manage to get much done on Saturday. So, now I have to get busy cleaning up for my family next weekend. I'm excited though because we decided that when they are here we are going to spend a few days the next weekend in NYC. I have been wanting to visit and get pictures at Ellis Island for a family history scrapbook I eventually want to do for Phil's family as all of his Dad's parents, aunts and uncles imigrated from Greece around 1910-15.

Yesterday was fun though! Terra and I spent part of the day at the science museum including about half an hour in the butterful garden. Then we went to a Street Performer Festival and, of course, watched her favorite juggler. (There are two street performers in the area that Terra just LOVES. If the even hears their voices as we walk through the market area, we have to stop and find them.)

I hope everyone else has a day more exciting than mine!
Sounds like fun. I've always wanted to see NYC. Good luck with the cleaning. :sunny:

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful day today! Bob and I went to the Indians/White Sox game today. Had great seats in the upper deck behind home plate. We started in the shade, then full on sun. Sox won 11-0. And to anyone else who wears shorts to a baseball game: PLEASE don't forget to put sunscreen on your legs! The tops of mine are burnt to a crisp. We stopped at Steak n Shake on the way home for a milkshake, now Bob's mowing the back yard. I'm off to go straighten up the house (15 minutes a room!) then relax on the couch with some Aloe Gel fresh from the fridge!
ouch, sunburns are never fun. :wizard: Hope the aloe works quick.

Hi DDA! I'm back from our camping weekend. Thanks for keeping it down. It only took me about two hours to catch up. We got to our campsite at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. When they said rustic cabins, they really meant rustic! Ours was complete with spiders and small holes in the walls and floor. We swept out the spiders, set everything up, and it was quite cozy. However, there were boulders everywhere! At the bottom of the stairs leading into the cabin, there was a huge rock that you couldn't move. It was really fun getting up and down that last step. Then on Saturday evening, we noticed hundreds of carpenter ants on the ceiling (wooden ceiling, peaked, with rafters). We went and told the ranger, and he thought we meant just a few ants, so he came with Raid. When he walked in, he went, whoaa!! you really do have ants. He was going to try to move us, but there were no cabins left. He sprayed with the Raid and some other stuff underneath the cabin, and then the ants were dropping like - well, like ants from the ceiling! We swept them all out and didn't have any more problems. We managed to laugh it off and had a good time, anyway. I actually managed to finish the book I was reading before we left and another one (Mary Higgins Clark's "Two Little Girls in Blue"). It was a page-turner like her others. We packed up and left this morning at around 11:00 a.m. When we got near the Friendly's near home, we decided to stop for ice cream. When we came out, Melanie's car wouldn't start. Since I had the perishables in my car, I came on home with two of the girls (granddaughter and friend) and Melanie called a friend to come and try to start her car. It was some sort of loose wire and he got it going. She then came here, moved the stuff that needed to go back to my storage unit into my car and took it all over. Then she came back and picked up the girls and went home. I took a shower, put on pjs, and relaxed here. Even with the few mishaps, it was a good weekend. The weather was great - no rain at all.
Goodness, you handled it really well. I would have been freaking out, of course I have major aracnophobia. Glad to hear you guys enjoyed your week-end despite the problems. :thumbsup2

And here are some highlights from our weekend...

On Saturday, Terra was playing Super Hero most of the day and was thrilled when I thought of making her a mask.

Then yesterday she loved the butterfly garden at the Museum of Science. We spent half an hour with Terra wanting to identify all of the butterflies with the guide.

This is her "Tinkerbell-holding" pose...she decided that like she was holding Tink was the best way to try to be still so one might land on her (several had been fluttering around her for a long time).

And finally...Terra's first crush...Lucky Bob - street performer extrordinare getting ready for his grand finale (spinning a plate on a stick in his mouth and juggling three clubs while standing on the board/tube/box here). We have to watch his show almost every weekend and she got so shy when talking to him yesterday. It was just too cute! One day a few weeks ago when she gave him his tip she told him, "You're my favorite juggler."
Looks like a lot of fun. My boys love to play superhero and Incredibles. I should make them masks. :thumbsup2 They would probably love it, too.

It has been too hot here to do anything. Why can't we have normal weather. It has either been too cold or too hot for this time of year. This is usually one of my favorite times of year. I do not enjoy very warm weather. We are having 90 degree weather with very high humidity. Double yuck!!! I wanted to go out kayaking today but I didn't think I'd enjoy the heat. We are hoping to go at 7pm tonight after dinner.

I just got done making Chuck's birthday dessert (his birthday was April 28 but things were crazy for us then). He is not one for a birthday cake so he asks for a cheese torte every year. It is easy to make but a long process so I only make it a couple of times a year. The best part on such a hot day is no baking required. Luckily, that way it also stays special. His brother also loves it so I try to make it for Thanksgiving time when we are all together. Now that their mom is older, her cooking skills have really dropped and it never turns out quite right when she makes it. They both cringe when she makes it specially for them!

I'm also going to make something out of my rhubarb. I think I saw a recipe that calls for a graham cracker crust from the site that someone posted for me. I'll probably try that since it is way too hot to cook.

We'll be having steaks on the grill and baked potatoes in the microwave for dinner! Woohoo!! Plus leftover grilled corn on the cob. I can't wait.
I know the weather has been so screwy this year. :confused3 Have a nice dinner. If your rhubarb recipe turns out maybe you could post the recipe. I'm always looking for recipes that don't involve an oven in the summer. :teeth:
