What's the challenge?

If a single individual can eat an entire Kitchensink in less than an hour it is free. If I know Chris he'll want to eat one by himself everyday  He loves ice cream, cake, cookies, whipped cream.

The kitchensink was very tasty. I really liked all the cakes that were in it. They boys liked it too, but they couldn't eat too much.

When I started posting I had no clue I was close to a milestone, I just started posting, after posting several in a row with no one else posting I almost went to bed. But then I realized that it was pretty close to the milestone, so I decided to go for it. The closer I got the more I thought someone had to be on the sideline ready to pounce, thanks for letting me have it Clare.

Vicki - Tell me that you make your rhubarb pie tart! That's the only way I'll eat em! And then there are those restaurants that make strawberry rhubarb and it's too sweet to enjoy the rhubarb...it's a sin! :teeth: Thanks for letting me know that the season has started though! I'm gonna have to start calling around some restaurants and seeing if they have any rhubarb pie yet! YUM!

My rhubarb has finally matured enough so that we have fresh rhubarb. It has been 10 years since I've had rhubarb and I have no idea how I used to prepare it. When I was a kid, we just cooked it and ate it like applesauce. As an adult, I've also made rhubarb pie (but I can't find a recipe in my books). Anyone got any good recipes so I know what to do with it. My mouth is watering for a taste!!!!

Vicki,
This website has some for ideas. I haven't tried any of them but some of them sound good. Rhubarb is the one thing that we forgot to take some of from my Nana and Pop-pop's house when we sold it. They had many acres and tons of flowers and crops and things planted that come up every year, the people who bought it , I am sure had no clue what a lot of the stuff is that comes up every year.

I like it slightly tart with a hint of sweetness. I've had some good strawberry rhubarb pie but never any local place. It's always some place that I can't ever have it again.

Deb,
Are you and Chris still trying to go down for the marathon? I know at one point you had been considering it.

I'm off to take Becky to her friend's graduation party. When I get back, I have to work on my office before I can DIS. See you later.

It looks good going in individually, but I don't know about once all those flavors start melting and running together.

We got our first packs of zizzlingers today and I am happy to says, thanks to hints on the DIS that we got 3 in each pack....Belle in red dress, Jasmine and Snow White, and 3 of the super heros whom I can't remember.

Nicholas and I had a super soaker battle in the back yard. I'm proud to say I drenched him and only had but a few drops of water on me.:teeth:

We are going out to eat now. YUM!

Afternoon all.
Sounds like a lot of us have sent the day cleaning house.
As it is another cold rainy day.
I also cleaned top to bottom.
I'm happy to say only took me 1 hour.
Ramiro cleans his room & vacumns.
My house used to take me 2 days.

How I have cut my cleaning time to nearly nothing.
1. Got rid of tons of extra nick nacks & pictures.
2. 1500 sq. ft. to 900 sq. ft. 2 baths to 1 bath.
3. Got rid of XDH never learned how to aim. :lmao:
4. No shoes inside, slippers & bare feet only.
5. Most important (Neat & Dity). :mickeyjum

I have to admit I don't miss anything I have let go. :cloud9:
Nice to have a lot more time to relax.

We had to take our cat Charlie to the vet this week... on Sunday morning he peed on our floor length curtains and I had a fit! Then later on he peed on a pair of socks that I'd dropped after doing laundry... I thought he was being naughty... Then on Tuesday night he just wondered round the room crying and squatting down on anything on the floor... like the newspaper, or some papers I bought home from work... we had to keep grabbing him and running him up to the litter tray... poor thing. We took him to the vets on Wed am and he has cystitus (sp) apparently it's common in male cats after something stressful happens (probably the arrival of our new sofas!!) So he's on meds and is back to his old self! Apparently once he gets it once it's likely to recur, and we have to watch him because if he ever can't pee it's life threatening and we have to take him to the vets immediately even if its the middle of the night!!!

Phew! Tuesday was a stressful evening and made me think of how on earth you all manage with sick kiddos!
:grouphug: Poor cat that doesn't sound good. :wizard: That he doesn't get it again.

Ah - you guys are so sweet!!

I have been reading along but not posting - I just feel so overwhelmed and want to send PD and congrats and all that good stuff but I am so afraid I am going to miss someone that I keep putting it off

I think at this point a collective :wizard: - :grouphug: - :Pinkbounc
would be best!!

Things went well for Steve yesterday and now he is just recovering - I guess he will get to return the favor later this summer if I have surgery! He does not have a huge recovery process just needs to take it easy for a few days.
So we headed to blockbuster and rented 9 movies for the weekend - 5 for the kids and 4 for us!

I am also trying to keep on top of things at church - remember the lady who can't seem to let go of her old festival job - I know she means well and she has been helpful but she scares me that I am missing something!

And I found out that the VBS woman was told what to do by the Director who apparantly didn't bother to find out how things worked when she took over - what she should be doing - and now the director is out of town -

the other woman has not responded to my emails so I imagine she is pretty ticked off right now - so I sent an email to the Director explaining how things work and let her know that if she wants to change things next year that is fine but this year it is too late in the process and that I have been gathering the registrations like I always do and assigning the volunteers - I can't wait for the director to get back to decide how to do things and since everyone else is doing this the way we used to - and we have our volunteer meeting on Tuesday night!
:wizard: :wizard: I hope things get settled for the volunteers. Hopefully Steve's recovery goes smoothly. Enjoy your weekend. :goodvibes

I've got a hunch on which prodecure that Steve might have had done, but I could be off base. Chris had a procedure that required a low key weekend to recover from and now there are no kids in our future :lmao:

Deb
 Even after 4 I still can't seem to make that decision. I keep going back and forth. 4 is enough but I still keep thinking of those little princess: :guilty:

I kind of miss those days of Barbie and Winnie the Pooh movies.

Enjoy the weekend!!
I would watch Winnie the Pooh even without the kids. :teeth: I just loved those books growing up. And love the cartoons even as an adult.

I hope everyone's Saturday has been productive like mine! We've cleaned the cats room (yes they have their own room!) finished 3 loads of laundry, dishes are washed and put away, back porch is clean, front lawn is mowed, the cement slab has no grass on it now, but does have the patio furniture and umbrella out now, garage is cleaned...i think that's about it! Steaks are thawing for dinner on the grill, potatoes are scrubbed...I'm taking a nap on the porch!
We're attempting to clean the playground room and toy room. Our formal living room has a Little Tikes 8 in 1 adjustable playground, ball pit w/ tunnels and tents and little slide/swing thing for babies. (we don't have a yard the back is a cement patio. I would really like to move to a house with a yard but DH is not sure about where we would live yet :confused3 ) And our bonus room is the kids toy room. So we're trying to be productive. Although I keep taking breaks. :cheer2:

Thanks May 18thers for my postcard! I got it yesterday. It was the perfect pick me up after an otherwise yucky week.

I've come to the conclusion that I pretty much hate my job now. Plus, being stuck in the office for so long I am feeling more intensely the loneliness of not having any friends around here. So, we have decided that if not before then, that I will hand in my notice as soon as we get back from our Oct trip. I feel a little better knowing that there is a set time in the future when we will move to St. Louis and be surrounded by family and friends again.

Well, since I have been inspired by Chanon's productiveness (or am I feeling guilty becuase of it? ;) )...I am off to work on my kitchen. My parents will be here in a week and at the rate my week days go sometimes I really need to get things mostly ready this weekend.

Talk to you all later! :wizard: and :grouphug:
:grouphug: Sorry you're having a yucky time with work but at least you have your move to look forward to. It is nice to live near family and friends. I still miss mine and the loneliness gets to me as well. :wizard: Hope you're able to get your house spit spot for your parents.

It's frustrating isn't it :scared1: I love our pets so much, but I am at wits end. The older dog often Poops inside as I don't think he even knows he is doing it now. Sometimes he does it while he is laying down. I am constantly cleaning the rug. The female now requires pretisone and antibiotics for he immuno dificiency disease (probably for the rest of her life) and the meds make her have to pee and it isn't always outside. She also has a really purple, blood tinged tongue which I am assuming is from the meds so when she licks her face all the time she has blood tinged fur which makes her look mangy. The cat goes through his stressful times and marks everything. I love them, but don't know when I will have to draw the line. My oldest son came to me last night and told me that he thinks it is time to have his dog Tuffy, the older one, put down. He said "Mommy he can't stand up good and almost can't walk" Nick has been his biggest advocate. He cried himself to sleep last night. I just keep praying he goes on his own. I don't want to have to play God. Each time I buy his meds I think well, I'll give him one more month. What to do, What to do?

Deb
:grouphug: How hard for your family. I hope that you're able to make the best decision for Tuffy.

We got just a little rain last night, and John did water our front lawn earlier this evening.

my3princes said:
No kidding. Can you imagine no rain and warm weather. Woo Hoo. We got a little sprinkle, but it never really started raining. I may actually have to water my outside plants. We have temps in the 80s and humidity.

Deb

Ohh rhubarb, I just clean the stalk and eat it.
