Janet I know you asked some time back how Chuck E. Cheese was. Sorry, I keep thinking I'll catch up on posts and never do. Anyway, it wasn't that bad. We were the only ones there for about 1 1/2 hours.

:wizard: if you need it and I missed you.

I failed my glucose tolerance test yesterday. I expected it, so no surprise there. They've changed things since I was pregnant with Christopher. I have to go purchase a monitor and see a dietician. Last time I just followed the diabetic diet. She said my numbers weren't that bad, and I didn't have any problems from it with Christopher so I'm hoping for the same again.

I also got to see our princess: again. The tech said she is wild! We got a cute shot of her face, her feet, and more proof she's a girl.

We'll be hanging around here for the holiday weekend. I have lots to do around the house. I hope all of you traveling have safe and fun getaways!
:wizard: :grouphug: that all goes well follwing the diet and with the blood sugars.

Need some suggestions. My girlfriend is pregnant with her 2nd girl and her mom has asked me to throw her a shower. I did for her first and my girlfriend has thrown my bridal and 2nd baby shower.

Dana doesn't need anything big as she has kept everything from her first. And she has kept all of her clothes as well. I want to keep it simple but really don't know what to do. I am thinking along the lines asking everyone to bring a casserole or meal that can be frozen for them to use after the baby comes. My other girlfriend, Amy, thinks that is crazy as Dana will expect gifts. Now Amy has no kids and I think that after Molly came I would have much rather had dinners than all the clothes I did get. Gimme your ideas please!!
How about a diaper and wipes shower? Different sizes of Diapers you could designate which size in the invitations you send. 1,2,3,4,5 I would only designate a few size 1.

Keep reading Jennifer!

Look, we are on page 2345.

Tammi's last post gave me the idea of a "Pamper Party" each guest could bring either a package of Pampers or an item to Pamper the Mom. That would be fun and I bet you could come up with lots of games to go with that. I can already think of a few.

Deb
I like this idea.

I seriously did not read Tammi's, Deb's or Beth's post before I posted mine.

I will not be going to DC for the DDA meet. I just used my free ticket to get my mom a ticket to fly back here next Sunday for Rees' surgery. She will be staying 3 days with us to help out. Sorry I'll miss the fun, but I'm glad I hadn't booked it yet and could get it for her.
I am glad you could use your ticket for your mom. I am glad she will be able to help you out during Rees's recovery.
Sorry you will miss the DC meet.

Kristin asked me to let you all know that she is around & well. I sent her a pm so that we can make sure we make plans for our DDA meet in December while we are both at WDW. We are looking for a third person so that we can meet Paula's requirements for getting a pillow. Otherwise, I'll have to make sure Chuck gets a screen name and posts regularly (I'll have to find out how long that means from Paula :rotfl:). Anyone else there on 12/2 & 12/3? That is when Kristin & I overlap.

Here's the pm from her so you know what she is up to.
me! me!. I will be their nov. 28th thru dec. 5th. I had to move it back a day for cheaper airfare. original plan was nov. 27 thru dec. 4.

Ooh, now to meet the pillowcase guidelines set by Paula, we have to schedule a meet while we are there and talk about it on the thread. I haven't really set an itinerary yet. As we get closer, we'll have to make sure that we discuss our get together!

Hey Paula, here is the 1st post about a tentative meet of 3 DDA regular DDA members. UP Disney, Cinderumbrella and myself! :lmao:

Poor Alyssa. I get home from work tonight and Nicholas comes running out into the garage, before I even get out of the car, telling me he hit Alyssa in the head with the door but it was an accident. I get in the house and she is laying on the couch with and ice bag on her forehead and dried blood on her shirt and pants. She looked so sad and pathetic. My first question is 'does she need stitches'--she's already had them once. No. John and Nicholas explain to me that she was chasing Nicholas into his bedroom and he goes to shut the door, with the edge of it cutting her in the forehead. So she has about a 1/2 inch gash. Our neighbors, husband and wife, both nurses, come over to check her out. He works the skin back into place to form a nice line and gives us some saline and patches her up with those steri-strips that hold the skin together. They give us a supply for about a week and say she will prob not have a scar (I hope not!). So I've pumped her up with Motrin and just put her to bed. I hope she has a good night. Poor Nicholas feels so bad.
:wizard: for Alyssa that she gets well soon and no scar.
:grouphug: for Nicholas

Deb,
Are you and Chris still trying to go down for the marathon? I know at one point you had been considering it.

We were never considering the marathon. We are planning 3 weeks at the end of July - beginning of August 2007. Lots of time to plan and save :teeth: I wonder if anyone else will be down there then?

It looks good going in individually, but I don't know about once all those flavors start melting and running together.

I agree, but lucky for me or is it lucky for Chris: His favorite part of a sundae is the sludge at the bottom. He always finishes mine. yuck

I've got a hunch on which prodecure that Steve might have had done, but I could be off base. Chris had a procedure that required a low key weekend to recover from and now there are no kids in our future :lmao:
I'm glad you are following along. We miss you. I hope that the volunteer thing works out. It is so hard to work together when the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Deb
That was my thought too!
:wizard: for steve.

I was gone for 7 1/2 hours and only 2 new pages were posted :confused3 Come on guys we must be more talkative than that.

I had a horrible night at work. My boss is a PITA. He did not schedule enough bus staff and had me short 1 1/2 wait staff. I say 1 1/2 as I had a new waiter that has only worked 2 prior weeknight and he puts him on a short staffed Saturday night. I babysat all night. He even had the audacity to tell me that I was over seating him. He had a section with 6 tables and I never sat more than 3 tables at once. :confused3 I explained to him that it was my job to find tables for customers, not babysit the waitstaff that cleary had no place working on a Saturday night and that if he had trained him properly or staffed us properly I wouldn't have oversat him. I don't think I'll be getting a raise anytime soon, but give me a break :furious: I am usually a very even tempered person and always stay calm even in stressful situations. My good friend that has worked there with me for 14 years even commented that he had never seen me get so worked up. At least tonight is over. I feel bad for the new guy as I rode his butt all night, do this, do that, pick up plates, etc. etc. etc. He must think that I'm a real HCTIB. Oh well.

Deb

Who's here tonight besides Jennifer and myself? Vicki, did you get the office cleaned, are you lurking? Chris won't be home from the Red Sox game for another 2 hours or more so I hope someone is around.

Deb

I'm here but not for much longer. I think this is the latest that I've posted in a long time! I just finished watching Saving Private Ryan on TBS, complete with swear words (and people are boycotting Davinci Code, but we can swear on TV and show blood?!) Ok off my rant now.
