KMH1 said:Well, it's official. I need to stop cursing. The Donald Duck in me uses a few choice words during moments of frustration (break out the hot sauce Glynis!) and tonight, when Alyssa couldn't fit the crayons back in the box, well, she used one of those words...about six times before I realized what she was saying. Actually, Kevin picked up on it first, and since he swears once every two years, you know who got the blame.
Please, can I still swear here?

My dad is/was an alcoholic so I do know my way around a few bars from a child. Could be why I haven't been in a bar in eons!!

Glynis said:My kids were asking the other day if they could get some pen pals for the summer. Would it be ok with you if they wrote to your kids? If so, could you PM me your address? Maybe this will help cheer Rees up (and the other kids, too, as they have to watch him go through all this). We'll be travelling quite a bit this summer, all over our state, and my kids would love to send postcards from all the places we will go. Let me know if this is something you think would help your kids.

Glynis said:DH had to work late last night, so I ended up making pancake puffs for the kids, and having a piece of string cheese for my dinner. Yummy! Yes, I'm being sarcastic. Boy, did I want a pancake puff. The only thing that held me back was the pain that I knew I would be in if I ate one. Yikes!

This is a great idea, to bad I don't have a sandwich maker!Glynis said:I got a sandwich maker for Christmas 2 years ago, and my kids love the hot ham and cheese sandwiches I make in it. About a year ago, they requested pancakes. Now, I love to eat them, but hate to make them. I can never flip them so they look good, and it just is a mess. So, I made a batch of pancake batter, and used the sandwich maker to cook them. It made them all puffy and golden brown. My kids loved them so much they now request them on a regular basis. I love that I can make them so easily. They also freeze and warm up easier than my old pancakes. The kids can also just hold them in their hands (without syrup) and munch on them for a snack. Very yummy!
bengalbelle said:Y'all are going to think I'm such a nut but I can't stop crying. Today was Christopher's last day of Pre-K, which is bad enough in itself, but it was also his last day at this school. We loved this school and were so happy when he was accepted but made the difficult decision to move him to another school that is competitive academically, is a K-12 school (current school only goes to 5th), and has MUCH cheaper tuition once he hits 6th grade. If we turned down the spot at the new school we wouldn't have a chance of ever being accepted again so we decided to move him and at least give it a try. I thought I was OK with our decision, but I've been so sad since I picked him up. I've been trying to hold it together in front of Christopher but I started tearing up when we went through the bag of summer materials she sent home for him. He hugged me and told me it's ok. Damn pregnancy hormones! My 5 year old is handling this better than me!
Thanks for listening.
