Good morning DDA! We had some excitement here last night. Emma lost another tooth. As you can tell she was very excited knowing that the Tooth Fairy would be visiting. And it won't be long for the 4th tooth, I just hope the TF is better prepared. This tooth was worth $5.
WTG Emma! I'm not going to tell Nicholas, as he will be very jealous of you. He still hasn't lost that tooth!

Hi Dawn. How's things going?

Did I get it? Yep, I got post 37500 on page 2500. Those numbers people must be rubbing off on me...

So Hunter's best friend and his parents are heading to WDW a week from Saturday. I talked to the mother yesterday and she hasn't even thought about packing. They have made a few ADRs, but not many and they are on the dining plan. :confused3 I have actually tried to avoid talking to them about their trip as I know that I will just get frusterated. When they started planning this in March I offered to make them T-shirts, autograph pages, give them any info that they need, but they prefer to just go with the flow and take things as they come. Chris and I are sitting here thinking that they are going to have a miserable trip as they just don't know that doing Disney requires skill and prep time. You all know what I mean. Between the June heat, no ADR (not many anyway) and no plan of attack, I bet they don't get to see much of the world. She asked me the other day what items they shouldn't go without and when I started telling her she looked at me like I was out of my mind. An extra pair of shoes for Kali River Rapids? You can't possibly get that wet? Wait until they walk around in soggy sneakers or wet jean shorts after that ride, they will find out the hard way.

Deb
Isn't it funny that how unless you are on the DIS or TGM or other WDW forum, you have no idea what you DON'T know about?? We all know what they will miss. Sad thing is, they will think they had a good time, but we know how much of a BETTER time it could be!!!!

The problem is that I've heard so many like this say they didn't have a good time. Of course, that means more Disney for us with less people going but it is so sad to me that there are kids missing out on the absolute magic because mom & dad won't take some advice.

I wasn't on the DIS or TGM before our first trip. However, I was on the Disney site, All Ears, etc. researching (just not in any forums). I knew there was so much to do & see and wanted to make sure I was prepared. I actually didn't start looking at the forums until November of last year (after our second trip). I can't believe how much more valuable info I picked up.

I don't think that it is the only proper way to retire flags. We just did a flag retirement ceremony with the VFW and they also burn the flags, but they are not cut apart first. I have never heard of such a thing. We have done this every year on memorial day.

Deb

ETA: The kids were fighting and I never told you how nice your ceremony sounded and the picture looks great. You have a real talent for these things.

I think burning or burial is still proper. The Boy Scouts also use a ceremony in which the stripes and field are separated before burning, but I think as long as you burn it respectfully, you don't need to cut the flag apart first.

Nope. I just thought it was cute and wanted to see how much someone paid for it for future reference. ETA: Plus, I told Theresa I was done after the Tigger so she doesn't try to start an intervention! :lmao:

Who says I'm not going to run an intervention for you even with just Tigger? :rotfl:
If I find Tigger and Dumbo I will make sure to get both.....and maybe I could bribe you....can't have this one until..... :lmao:

I sound like I need an intervention now. :teeth:

Ok, I couldn't help posting on the "fanny pack" thread too...

DEB,
Sorry you had to cancel..it has been so dreary here too...They say after this NE is over we should get some sun. Love the crafts your boys did.

DENISE,

TERRY,
What a beautiful card. Give that man a big ole kiss!!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

ROBYN,
Congrats to Emma.

Ok, now that I have all my photos in albums I have to put all the negatives & doubles away..anyone have an idea on what storage box to use? Those shoe box kind look good but I have alot of 8x10 photos too that need a place.

If anyone has any kind of :sunny: could you please send it this way? When is it officially summer? cause I could totally use some 90 or higher days. :cold:

:furious: :furious: I had to put my .02 in on the fanny pack issue. LOL That woman needs to get in the real world. I'm real curious as to what she really wears to the parks.

Happy Anniversary, Terry & DH! :lovestruc

Congrats on the new job, Denise!

Good luck on the house, Amy!

I know I'm missing a lot of somebodies. I can't remember all I just read. :(

Chuck's results are back. Negative for lupus, lyme disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. However, they did find some kind of imflammatory joint disease but don't know what. Chuck has an appointment with a specialist in Green Bay now on June 21st to have more tests.

I meant the burning part, not the cutting a part section. I am sorry for the confusion, going back and reading it, that does appear to be the case. The only way to properly destroy a worn out United States flag is to burn it, respectfully.

They now only burn one flag at the ceremony which is the one that is cut apart and something is read about what each section means, each stripe represents something, the blue section represents something, etc. The rest of the flags are burned at a later time because there are piles and piles of flags that are collected and it would take forever to burn them all at one time.

I'm glad to hear it isn't any of those. Here's hoping the specialist can figure out a good treatment plan. :wizard:
