A little PD for Davis please. He vomited in the middle of dinner (twice- very fun) and is running a 104 fever now. He's missing his class meet at the park tomorrow am now. He's pretty miserable. I just ran down to finally eat some dinner and then I'm headed back to check on him. John's watching Piglet's Big Movie with him right now.
:wizard: I hope you had an easy night.

I ended up taking Tiffany to the vet again today. They are confident now that she has the immuno dificiency disease, although they aren't sure which one. Apparently the treatment won't change even if we spend $100s on testing. She will now be on prendisone for the rest of her life. Thankfully it is not an expensive drug and we will be changing the dosage until we find the minumum effective dosage for her. Right now she has white pusicules (is that a word) on her anal area and a big one on the tip of her tongue (that has got to hurt). It will probably take a week or so for the sores to go away. I had our male in the car the the Vet (the new one) agreed to look at him too. She does not think that he is at a point to have him put down which is good news as we have been struggling with that decision. She does however feel that his back legs will completely give out by the end of summer or fall. When that happens we will have no choice but to put him down. He is so mentally aware and wants to be a puppy, but his body is just giving out. She also gave me a prescription for another med which will work in combination with his current arthritis med. I will have to get a price for it at a drug store. Hopefully it isn't too expensive as his current meds are $60/mth already. After the Vet visit I had to completely vacuum my car as it was covered in dog hair :sad2:

The kids are in bed, but Nick keeps getting up complaining that he isn't feeling right. He has had a little cough and has a nasty cold sore in his nose so I won't be surprised if he is sick in the morning. Summer can't get here fast enough for me.
Deb
Tons of :wizard: for your dogs, Deb. I just made an appt. for our dog to have his surgery on the 9th, so I hope everything goes smoothly. It is so sad that they have to go through all of this.

I hope Nick is feeling better today.

Chuck has been really stiff and getting worse for about a month. He went to the doctor today. He has to go back to have some tests. They are looking for lyme disease, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. I sure hope they find something treatable because he has been miserable.
Keep us posted on his condition. I hope it's nothing too serious.

Perhaps talk about something you know well. Perhaps Disney, there are so many options that you could make a great informational speech about Disney. :thumbsup2
Oops. I should have figured that this would already have been suggested. Or teach them how to make their own t-shirts.

Then I made these aprons -I used dark transfer paper for the crayon and blocks - the aprons were $14 for 3 - but I used my Michaels 50% off so they were $7 - I bought the other two seperately and they were $5 each - I splurged on the flower and butterfly appliques and they cost $11 and those are of course - Julia's handprints - so the aprons cost me $28 to make 5 - but I could have cut the cost by $11 and not used the appliques

but since I only spent $35 on the 5 teacher gifts - I didn't mind splurging!!!
The aprons are great. They are so bright and colorful!

I think I need the java blue!
That one is very popular around here. I have the bag, wallet and small cosmetic case. I tried to buy one that would last year round, as it is too expensive to have one for every season!

I haven't posted much lately but have been dropping by to read so that I don't get too far behind, hopefully after this weekend things will slow down.
But after reading this post I have to share a family story. When my youngest DD was 3 we were visiting at the in-laws and we were sitting around looking at family picttures when my mother-in-law showed my DD a picture of my DH, my oldest DD and myself, I was pregnant in the picture so my MIL told my DD that she was in the picture too, she was in my tummy. My DD's eyes got as big as saucers and she looked at me very nervously and said " What did you do? Eat me? " :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Needless to say she brought down the house!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's good to see you again!

Kate -- these are terrific. As a teacher I can say that I would be delighted with these gifts :)
Can you make any other suggestions of what teachers would like? I have 2 weeks to figure something out.

WOW! Look at all of my posts. Paula would be so proud. :goodvibes ;)

So does this mean we can't call you or you just can't call us or do we have to find alternate forms of communicating with you, like smoke signals! :confused3

We can't send or receive calls at this time. I have a work line in the house too and I can send calls on that but can't receive. We tested it from outside and it isn't something in the house, it is definitely the phone companies problem. I do have a work cell phone that "sometimes" works at the house. I'll pm it to you. Otherwise, it will require smoke signals!!!! :rotfl:

Well, my drama for this week is I can't find airline tickets for a decent price (all right decent to me)

My mom said she's willing to pay anywhere between $350 and $700 A PIECE for our tickets....oh my goodness I about passed out when I read that.
So I will be talking with her tomorrow and getting my tickets purchased.

I will be at the DC DDA Meet!!
:woohoo:

I just finished Julia's teacher gifts and I can't even begin to tell you how pleased I am with them!!!

This is the keychain blocks that we made - I actually did these after she went to bed - I bought the little blocks for $2.99 (30 of them) then I used a sharpie to outline them and add the letters - then I drilled a hole in them and put a leather like string through them - it was $2 and then the key rings - they were about 25 for $2 - so my total cost was $7 for these

Those are all awesome! Can I be one of Julia's teachers? I like that they are practical gifts. WTG Julia & Kate!

My sister just moved south and my niece is totally into Vera Bradley - she is not that big here - but I started looking at stuff and decided to buy this backpack

ec_1_b.JPG

I am so in love with it and I have had it less than a week - I am already starting to look for one for the fall b/c this is obviously a summer color -

I can't even tell you all how ridiculous that is b/c I am the type of girl that HATES purses and never understood why people changed them with the season or their outfits -

but this makes me want to!!!
I find it very interesting how different things are in the south vs. other areas. Vera Bradley is VERY popular here. I LOVE that color blue!
I was sort of surprised to learn that kid's smocked outfits (both boys and girls) weren't very popular in other parts of the country. I'm watching several bishop dresses on EBay right now and they're all from southern states.

Thanks! Steve didn't think I should put Julia's handprints on it but I love them on there - she will have the same teacher next year so I think she will love seeing them in the aprons next year during craft time! She can compare her handprints to it!!

I think the handprints are what make the apron extra special.

Kate -- love the teacher gifts. They are really special and will be treasured by the teachers. I agree with Vicki -- the handprints are what make them extra special!

Vera Bradley is very popular here. I love the java print!
