Teresa - I am glad you joined in - and how cool that you and Vicki know each other!!!

Rumors are correct - I went to the doctor today and surgery it is - my doctor isn't a surgeon and in fact - no one in his practice can do the surgery so he is sending me to another surgeon - who will tell me 1 of 3 things

1. Sorry - your knee is too screwed up and I can't help you - let's pray this is not his answer b/c then basically I am screwed and will have to wait until my knee has a total breakdown and I have a knee replacement

2. I will give it a shot but I can't promise you anything - which again could someday result in knee replacement but at least give me a chance at relief and recovery

3. You are the perfect candidate for this surgery and it will fix everything - OBVIOUSLY this is what I would love to hear from him!!!

So that appointment is next Friday morning - so if you all could keep me in your prayers for then

Denise - I hope you get the job - that would be wonderful!!

Paula - leaving your kids gets easier and easier and in the end makes you a better parent!

Sending that it ends up being option 3. I also am sending for Nick that he feels better. and for Steve and Julia as they have to deal with everything.

So I got a random call from Disney tonight. Apparently ADR's were made with my phone number for last week plus there is one for June 13th. I was like, I wish I could use them but alas I did not make them and can't figure out how it happened. The one for June 13th was a mistake for ours on August 13th but it had been corrected by our travel agent. The others were made several months ago. I am guessing someone entered our phone number instead of a reservation number or something, but they were no shows.

Perhaps they were a sign I should have been on the DDA trip or something. I just thought it was really weird.

Good evening DDA!
just wanted to let you guys know that i did my speech tonight! It wasnt as bad as i thought, but i went 2nd to get it over with....i ended up getting an A!!!!

Next week we have to give an informative speech--i have NO clue what to write at all! its going to be interesting!

Congratulations, good job on your speech.

Perhaps talk about something you know well. Perhaps Disney, there are so many options that you could make a great informational speech about Disney.

Well, my drama for this week is I can't find airline tickets for a decent price (all right decent to me)

My mom said she's willing to pay anywhere between $350 and $700 A PIECE for our tickets....oh my goodness I about passed out when I read that.
So I will be talking with her tomorrow and getting my tickets purchased.

I will be at the DC DDA Meet!!

Hunter was 5 and Nick was 7 when I was pregnant with Colby. They asked the same question and I answered it completely. They were not at all phased by it and probably don't remember the conversation now. I am a strong advocate of giving straight answers when asked.... I actually just called them both in the room and asked them if they remembered the conversation. Hunter did remember any of it and Nick turned red and said the didn't remember. I think Nick's information came from friends at school as he had a basic idea, but didn't have the places right He says that talking about it is totally embarassing. Hunter on the other hand listened to the facts and left it at that. I'll probably get a call from school tomorrow as They will be educating all their friends At least they might get the correct information this time.

I've also heard of people redirecting the question back to their kids "We honey how do you think the baby got in my belly?"

Whatever you choose, good luck. I think it is easier earlier, as it is just biology.

I don't have kids, but I agree with Deb tell them earlier, rather than later. As you want him to get proper information from you instead of his friends or someone else. I know he is only 5 but the things kids that age talk about might suprise you. Or the things elementary age kids find on the internet is scarey.

At our Brownie sleepover one of the girls, she was 6 talked about something she saw on the internet, she started to describe a girl giving a guy head. Let's say I changed the subject quickly. Only because I did not feel it was in my place to be telling 1st through 3rd graders what was going on, that is up to the parents.

The girls were talking before bed and this girl said to the other girls not to say anything to anyone else. I wasn't sitting right there but was listening in on the conversation, I don't think they realized I was listening until I butted in.

After that I made sure to hand out internet safety rules to all of the parents and I did mention it to this girl's mother. Whether or not anything was said or done to the girl, I don't know but I just wanted to make them aware of what she said.

I know it may embarass you but it is better he hears it from you and starts feeling comfortable talking to you about these things, instead of going elsewhere to get his information. Make it a conversation, let him ask questions, don't just give him a speech it will make it more comfortable. Tell him the answers to his questions, use simple terms and proper terminology. It is afterall just another part of the human body and normal life. I know it is easier said than done.

Good luck to you, sending and to give you the strength to get through the conversation. I know you can do it.

Well we've been getting strange # calls and text messages on Cassidy's new phone so it's a good thing to register ours to keep those pesky telemarketer calls. Thanks for the reminder!!

I get all sorts of weird calls on my work cell phone for someone named Eric, apparently this person left a chain of unpaid bills and things and they are all looking for this person. So not only do I get the legitimate calls, I get all of these calls searching out someone who no longer has the number. Even if this number was registered these calls would still happen as they were businesses the person who had the number before dealt with.

I am going in August. That is how they messed up the June 13th, it was supposed to be August 13th the travel agent submitted the wrong month to the day. The travel agent sent an email after we got the phone call from Disney, to say they took care of the problem. But the others are a mystery.

I just finished Julia's teacher gifts and I can't even begin to tell you how pleased I am with them!!!

This is the keychain blocks that we made - I actually did these after she went to bed - I bought the little blocks for $2.99 (30 of them) then I used a sharpie to outline them and add the letters - then I drilled a hole in them and put a leather like string through them - it was $2 and then the key rings - they were about 25 for $2 - so my total cost was $7 for these

Then I made these aprons -I used dark transfer paper for the crayon and blocks - the aprons were $14 for 3 - but I used my Michaels 50% off so they were $7 - I bought the other two seperately and they were $5 each - I splurged on the flower and butterfly appliques and they cost $11 and those are of course - Julia's handprints - so the aprons cost me $28 to make 5 - but I could have cut the cost by $11 and not used the appliques

but since I only spent $35 on the 5 teacher gifts - I didn't mind splurging!!!

Thanks! Steve didn't think I should put Julia's handprints on it but I love them on there - she will have the same teacher next year so I think she will love seeing them in the aprons next year during craft time! She can compare her handprints to it!!

My sister just moved south and my niece is totally into Vera Bradley - she is not that big here - but I started looking at stuff and decided to buy this backpack

I am so in love with it and I have had it less than a week - I am already starting to look for one for the fall b/c this is obviously a summer color -

I can't even tell you all how ridiculous that is b/c I am the type of girl that HATES purses and never understood why people changed them with the season or their outfits -

but this makes me want to!!!
