First of all I would like to say that it is great to see everyone posting again. I have missed seeing a lot of you.

:grouphug: To kate for option 3. :grouphug: Denise for the job. :grouphug: Rees for the surgery :grouphug: Davis to have a quick recovery. If I missed anyone specifically then here is some extra :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: just for you ;)

I ended up taking Tiffany to the vet again today. They are confident now that she has the immuno dificiency disease, although they aren't sure which one. Apparently the treatment won't change even if we spend $100s on testing. She will now be on prendisone for the rest of her life. Thankfully it is not an expensive drug and we will be changing the dosage until we find the minumum effective dosage for her. Right now she has white pusicules (is that a word) on her anal area and a big one on the tip of her tongue (that has got to hurt). It will probably take a week or so for the sores to go away. I had our male in the car the the Vet (the new one) agreed to look at him too. She does not think that he is at a point to have him put down which is good news as we have been struggling with that decision. She does however feel that his back legs will completely give out by the end of summer or fall. When that happens we will have no choice but to put him down. He is so mentally aware and wants to be a puppy, but his body is just giving out. She also gave me a prescription for another med which will work in combination with his current arthritis med. I will have to get a price for it at a drug store. Hopefully it isn't too expensive as his current meds are $60/mth already. After the Vet visit I had to completely vacuum my car as it was covered in dog hair :sad2:

The kids are in bed, but Nick keeps getting up complaining that he isn't feeling right. He has had a little cough and has a nasty cold sore in his nose so I won't be surprised if he is sick in the morning. Summer can't get here fast enough for me.

On a bright note, I held our last den meeting of the year tonight. We just have the Pack Picnic on Saturday then we have a break until September. I may try to get them together this summer to do an aquanaut unit, but I'll wait and see on that one. I need to put the awards together before Saturday, but at least I know it is the last time for this year!!! :teeth:

Deb
:wizard: for Nick. Hope the meds for the pets work well and aren't too expensive.

Chuck has been really stiff and getting worse for about a month. He went to the doctor today. He has to go back to have some tests. They are looking for lyme disease, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. I sure hope they find something treatable because he has been miserable.
:grouphug: :wizard: I do hope they find out what's bothering him quick and thsat it is easily treated.

Thanks for the update. I noticed Andrew had a great couple of games and that Lindsay stopped in to say hi too. I read Glynis' update. Y'all are in my prayers and glad everyone is doing well. Hope anyone sick feels better. Oh, and good luck on the NCLEX, Jen. And have fun on the cruise.

BK had her dress rehearsal last night. She did well, and her class looked adorable. The recital is Sat. Kids had a swim b'day party today in a neighborhood where the homes start at 1.2 million (so out of our league it is hysterical). The pool complex looks like Storm Along Bay. Unbelievable. We stayed 4 hours and had so much fun. If you can't be rich, it sure is wonderful to have friends who are and share the fun with you!

Tomorrow kids have a playdate with lots of their school friends at the park. Then Friday is Rees' pre-op appt. Sat recital. Sunday my mom flies back. Monday is surgery.

Oh, and please send PD my way. I got a call this am for the preschool teaching job at my church! It's the lead teacher position for a 2 year old class. I can have my choice of 2 days a week, T-Th or M-W, or teach all 4 days. I told her I would like the 4. So I go next Wednesday at 10am for the interview. Keep your fingers crossed! It would be perfect, close to home, and at our home church. Hours are 9am-2pm, so I could get the kids on the bus and be there when the bus drops them off. And I'd still get a three day weekend every week by having Fridays off!

Everyone is doing well here. We're loving the summer vacation already. Kids have been playing outside, going to the pool. It's so hot, but wonderful if you're in the water. We go to the beach in 2 weeks, and I can't wait. I need one more swim suit, so I'll join Jen in that shopping.

Hope everyone on the DDA is doing well!

Sending :grouphug: and :wizard: to Rees for his surgery.

Sending :grouphug: and :wizard: to you for the interview to go well and to a quick bathing suit search.

Sending :grouphug: and :wizard: to Brantley Kate for a great dance recital.

Sending :grouphug: and :wizard: to Davis and John for having to deal with everything you are all going through.

Hmmm, let's see what I can do.

Becky has decided to give her notice at the group home which we all agree with. She really needs to de-stress her life. She also spent quite a bit of time making flower pots and wings for her Brownies.

My last day with the group home is June 14th, although I am only scheduled to work there this weekend and nothing else. Except they keep calling to have me work, but I keep telling them no. I don't care any more as I have an end in sight.

As for the flower pots, I now have to repaint another pot as one of them got knocked off the table at the ceremony tonight and shattered. It got knocked off during the ceremony. I know it was an accident but it frustrating none the less. Before I can paint I have to go buy another pot, as it isn't fair to the girl whose got broken since someone else broke it and they all have names on them.

Vicki -- the unknown is so scary!

My DH woke up this morning with some kind of bite on his arm. It's now about a 6 inch circle. He went to the dermatologist, and they gave him three prescriptions, but it's still growing. He says it doesn't hurt, so I'm thankful for that.

PD to Chuck and to his doctors.
:wizard: He might want to consult a doctor if it keeps growing, could it have been a poisonous spider?

Oh my gosh.... did you all hear about this horrible mixup in Indiana?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060531/ap_on_re_us/mixed_up_victims

I cannot even IMAGINE what either family is going through emotionally right now. :sad2: Please lift them up in your prayers!

They were just showing that on the local news. Can you imagine sitting by a loved ones bed for 5 weeks waiting for them to recover and when they start to recover realizing it is not your daughter?? Unimaginable!!!!!!!!!! Then to realize that means your daughter is dead??!!!! Even more unimaginable!!!!!

At least the family that buried what they thought was their daughter got good news in the end! Even that would have been horrible. All that grieving for 5 weeks only to find out it wasn't your daughter.

How truly awful for both families!!!!!! Definitely have them all in my thoughts & prayers tonight.

:wizard: to Chuck for a speedy and easily treatable diagnosis

:wizard: to Marci's DH...I would also send him to a Dr. (not that the dermatologist isn't a Dr.) to make sure it isn't a poisonous bite

Good for you, Becky, quitting that job. You needed to for your own sanity. Just keep telling them no (do a Dory imitation, just keep swimming... err, I mean saying "no")

And your flower pot incidence sounds like me breaking Davis' coming out of school the last day. although painting one together ended up being even more special. Glad the ceremony went well.

I can remember when we were first married, not having air conditioning was not a problem. Even when we lived in Hawaii. Fans just seemed to work. Even when we moved into this place, fans and window air conditioners did the trick. But after getting ready for work, putting makeup on and then feeling like I needed to take another shower, I told DH he needed to do for us what he had knowledge of. So for about four weeks he installed Central Air in our house. This meant going up into the attic and putting in all the duct work, and everything else involved. He just kept forgetting that the roof sloped and when he stood up, he would try to stand up straight and hit the nail ends sticking out. A lot of words would flow from his mouth and of course the kids would roll their eyes and try to not laugh out loud. Then he would come down and be covered in insulation and sweating up a storm. I would try to remind him just how comfortable we would be and of course he would just give me the LOOK.
When he finished with it all, of course, it was during the month of July and it had been very, very hot. Well, that Sunday he decided to fire it up and of course, had to turn the thermostat way down. There we were in sweaters and blankets with the temp in the house reading at 50 degrees but he was so excited because it worked.
Then for the whole week it turned very cold. :lmao:

OMG!! You are not going to believe this! Here's a story of how small our world is!!!!
:hyper:

That's too cool. Everybody all together now. It's a small world after all, It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all it's a small, small world. :teeth:

Becky-

Sounds like a good thing to quit the group home. I agree with Denise...just keep saying no!!

Hope life settles down quickly for you.

I'm off to bed. Hopefully, Teresa will be on in the morning so that we can catch up.

Oh before I forget. I think someone is trying to tell me I'm making too many phone calls. Our phone service is out today. I called for repairs and was told that they would have it back up by June 3 at 8pm. Isn't that nice of them. Chuck is really unhappy ever since AT&T bought out SBC. Our service has really went down hill ever since. Don't worry! It won't stop me from making random calls to others from the DDA!

So does this mean we can't call you or you just can't call us or do we have to find alternate forms of communicating with you, like smoke signals! :confused3

When did these ads from Google start appearing at the top of threads? They're driving me bonkers!
