this is for Clare:

Good morning Sunshine!! Hope you have a great day - and that your assigments fall into place and you dazzle your professor with them!! I haven't gotten to the Post office for you yet - I am so sorry - I was slightly distracted last week - I am going to try to get there tomorrow!!

Okay, I think in my tired daze I missed some pages. From time to time I was seeing quotes that didn't sound familiar, but don't know where I missed them. So to all I didn't respond to  :wizard: and :grouphug:

Paula - I don't suppose you wanted to just head South and crash my birthday party with Mickey on Monday do you? I hate to have to typing in grren again, but....

I decent fare popped up last night so we are headed to CA on Saturday, coming back on the red eye Tuesday night. Downside - I "get" to spend Mother;'s Day with my in-laws who will probably only remember that my birthday is the next day if DH reminds them before we go. Upside - I get to spend my birthday with my best friend and Mickey! We will hit DL for awhile on at least Mon and maybe Tues. Plus if we get done with the inlaws early enough Sun, I may sneak in Fantasmic and Remember. Upside 2 - my sister is in CA until Sun so I may get to see her too. Upside 3 (this is for you Kristin) - if the inlaw visit is out of the way, it may increase the chances of a quick Dec trip.

And now that I am FINALLY caught up, I am off to bed so that I can fall behind again. What's the big idea with working being so busy that I can hardly find time to DIS anyway? :confused3

What makes you think I would post ingreen again? Just because once againI will not beable to do somethingas fun as you (this very weekend) doesn’t mean I would be green at all.In fact I am a rather lovely shade of lime I would say!

I will need to call those stores outright. I will look them up and give them a call in tomorrow. One would think if the size is popular, then they would stock more of it. WAIT!!!!! Military and thinking should not be used in the same sentence, what was I typing? Crazy lady again.

:lmao: :lmao:

military and common sense aren't often used in the same sentence either.

First of all I have no kids, but I'll give my opinion anyways. I don't think I would let my 7 almost, 8 year old go to a foreign country with a relative, especially one who has health issues. I agree with Eric that it is a great idea for Emma to spend time with her grandmother, but not in a foreign country and not at the age of 7. Maybe in 3 years or more depending on past experiences it might be a consideration but I feel she is still to young. You and Eric know her best.

Has Emma ever been away from home without Mom and Dad for a period of time? Has Emma ever spent a week or longer at this Grandmother's house? If so how has she done. If she hasn't stayed away from home for several days or a week, I definitely would not let her go. Has she ever went somewhere to another state without you or Eric?

Before I would send my kid overseas, they would have needed to progress from one night overnights to like a week in another state several hours, before they are going to another country thousands of miles away, where Mommy or Daddy can't hop in a car and be there in a few hours.

If she has spent lots of time with her grandmother and you feel you can trust her than perhaps, but I still feel it is too long and too far away at that age.

This is just my childless perspective, you can do with my opinion what you want.

I second what Becky said - I used to stay with my grandparents for a week or two at a time when I was a kid - several hours away from my parents - but I had my little brother with me too. If Emma has stayed with her grandma for extended periods of time without seeing you then you have something to go on. If she hasn't yet why not organise something for the summer. If it doesn't work out she can come home and you can tell her that that is the reason you don't want her to make the trip - not because you are a mean mommy.

Like Becky I have no kids so do what you want with my opinion too :goodvibes

I am so happy that you were able to convince her to go. Sometimes people just want to give. It's amazing the good feeling you get when you can do that.

I'm sorry to hear about you having to be in the cast for a month. pixiedust: to help the time pass quickly and the healing to go well.

Thanks Vicki!

Ok people I am in need of the Cliff Notes version of what has happened since page 1987. (Not the year 1987, I was in high school and I remember most of that so far, I have yet to get to the senility stage)

Here is my update for you all. (aren’t you a lucky group)

Friday DH came home; we got pizza and watched a movie. Saturday I went to work all day and when I got home we went to Sam’s Club. The girls went to bed at 7:30 (PST in the event you were questions that) and we got to sleep a few hours later. Sunday I got to sleep in, DH made the girls breakfast and then he got ready to go/ 0900 he pulled out of the drive way and we spent the day playing outside.

Now that brings me to today, it was a standard Monday in my house, nothing out of the ordinary.

Glad you had a good weekend Paula - I just had to say - when I read your posts I always read the times in military speak - as in at "oh nine hundred hours" instead of nine o'clock :rotfl2: Do the US military pronounce it the same as us?

ps - Just so y'all know I'll be popping in and out today but don't think I'll have a chance to catch up properly :goodvibes Got those two assignments to crack... ;)

It's alright she needed to get a milestone too. I have to let others get milestones first. I am pretty sure that you still haven't gotten a milestone yet either.

You are right, I haven't. Like you, I am always the one before or the one after. Maybe we could co-post and get one together! :goodvibes

Well - I hope it is in the right place now

but I tell you - those drugs you get after a c-section are GOOD!
No! No! No! They're evil!!

I had Christopher at 11:46am, then in recovery they gave me some drugs. I was knocked out until 8:30pm that night! I tried so hard to wake up and couldn't. I was so miserable! Not to mention the shakes from the epidural :(

At my appt. next week I'm asking my OB to pull my chart from the hospital and figure out what happened AND WRITE SPECIFIC DRUG ORDERS so it doesn't happen again.

Now, once I woke up the oral drugs after that were good ;)

He designed it weeks ago, but he's not happy with it, so he never posted it.
