Sorry Jen, I was just mentioning how great it would be to hang out with Kevin and Amy(and Alyssa and Matthew) again...

As far as the Dole Whips go all you need is Blue Bunny Sherbert and Dole Pineapple Juice and your good to go, no mixing or measuring... Delicious

No problem here! Just whining a bit for fun ;)

I keep meaning to look for the Blue Bunny at the store. Does it have chunks of pineapple though? I'm a little weird about textures, and I think that wouldn't work right with me :) At this point we use a recipe for the ice cream maker which is dead on the real thing, but you always have to wait a day or so for the canister to freeze. Unless you're us, then you have to wait several days as the canister breaks, mixture gets spilled, people keep buying the wrong ingredients, etc!

Next time it's Blue Bunny and juice! :thumbsup2

Tell BK she is gorgeous as she is and does not need to worry :wizard:

The whole body image thing is just horrid - you should be taught to like who you are for what you are not what you look like.

My friend at work (29) suffered from anorexia as a kid quite seriously - she now runs on a treadmill to stay trim and is a slim UK 10 (US6?) - she looks great but if she loses any weight she will look ill. One day I saw her eating some bread and lettuce for lunch, her boyfriend (39) makes lunch so I jokingly asked if he'd forgotten to put the filling in... she told me that her DB had told her she was getting fat and needed to diet  Needless to say I went mental! She asked him how much she should lose and he said well what do you weigh? Apparently she doesn't know what her weight is as she says if she weighs herself she'll start going back to her old ways, so she just goes by how her clothes fit. He told her half a stone (sorry 7 pounds!) should do it!!!! Seriously she would dissapear if she lost that much weight!!

Anyway long story - but it really got to me at the time and still bugs me now - he knows about the anorexia and I just think that is a really dangerous situation to put her in, especially as she could actually put on a few pounds and look more healthy.

Rant over... please return to your scheduled programming :teeth:

:furious: It's people like that, I tell ya!..... that is really stupid of him, especially knowing her history. Hopefully she gets the support she needs elsewhere and realizes he is not (at least in this aspect, obviously i don't know the whole situation) very good for her! :sad2: :wizard:

I didn't realize how lucky I am to have a library I don't have to pay to go to and can go to any in the county. I am off to work have a great day everyone. :)

No kidding! I didn't either, but I should count my blessings! We are members (for free) of 3 different county-wide libraries. One of them even has the MOST nominal fees I've ever seen for late charges, etc, and you can request everything online and pick it up at any location or even the drive-thru. And they also have literally every movie Kyle and I have ever looked for (and there's been a countless amount!) and you can be put on a waiting list for that and the books. We really take it for granted!

Hi y'all!

Thought I'd come in and see what's shaking since I'm awake now.I was all sleepy, watched some TV, got up to go to the bathroom and my Mother was dressed...I had gotten her in her pjs about 8pm tonight so I wouldn't have the hassle that I have EVERY night of the world around 9pm with her to get them and her depends on. :sad2: siiiiiigh....so I got her to get her pjs back on and I gave her some Tylenol PM..yeah I wanted her asleep...OY! :guilty:

So I've read a few pages.Have comments when I was reading but didn't have another window open to write them as I went along. :confused3 My brain is mush.I am so worn out from dealing with her.I'm getting in touch with Medicare this week and see what sort of help I can get. It's wearing me out. Some days I feel like I can't put one foot in front of another.

I think I was reading what duckyfor donald said about putting it in God's hands and that's where I am ...about a month ago I found a broadcast of Joel Osteen on a Sun night on ABC Family.http://www.joelosteen.com/site/PageServer He has done me so much good.He is SO uplifting!! I get a daily prayer from him.I don't know how I'd feel if I didn't have the hope I get from these prayers.

Anyway yesterday's message said to write down at least 10 things that you are thankful for every day.The DDA is on my list. I sit here and read everyone's stories, problems, advice, kindness and silliness and I'm so happy that we have all found one another. :grouphug:

I don't always comment on everyone's post but each one means something to me.I want each and everyone of you to know that YOU make this place the WONDERFUL thing it has become and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Oh wow...I really need some sleep!

Y'all are in my thoughts and special PD and prayers for all that need it. :wizard:

Night!

Alicia, prayers and pixie dust for you. That has to be so draining both physically and emotionally.

MORNING DDA!
Nothing exciting going on here. That could be why no posts in a while.

Denise - For some odd reason, I hate the dentist too. :confused3 But I do look forward to the free toothbrush at the end of my visit! Does Rees's dentist give out stickers?

Have yet to read Angels and Demons, but really liked the DaVinci Code. I didn't picture the lead at Tom Hanks though. Excited to see Paul Bettany play Silas. :thumbsup2

Plenty of :cheer2: and :grouphug: and :wizard: for everyone!

We only have to pay, because we are not residents of any of the four counties in that system. For our family, $25 is quite a bargain! We already buy tons of books, but if I bought everything that we read, we would quickly run out of money.

Goodnight all!

I absolutely hate when people know secrets and I don't!!! I hate also knowing a secret because I have to tell!!!

Last year my mom came and surprised us with a visit and Abi refused to talk to her for a couple of hours!! I guess I know where my baby gets the secret dislike :rolleyes1 .

This made me laugh, Theresa... Kristin HATES secrets too. And we have no idea where it came from. She loves to help plan them for others... like the time the two of us gave Bob three nights at the GF as a Christmas gift.

A perfect example of her dislike of being surprised was her 16th birthday trip to WDW. It was just the two of us and we had reservations at POR for 5 nights, or so she thought. She had always wanted to stay at the Contemporary and it has never been a resort that the rest of us had any interest in. So, as a surprise to her, I booked us into the Tower and requested MK view (which we got). The limo drive had instructions ahead of time to not say a word and off we went to WDW. When she finally realized what was going on she started crying and yelling at me all at once. Over and over she said, "You know I hate surprises!" But when I offered to have the front desk call POR to see if they had any rooms available she started to laugh. We had so much fin that trip but I will NEVER plan a surprise for her again. :rotfl:

Could it be possible that I know more than the Queen???!!!! :teeth:

Amy :)

I would say knowing Paula she probably has 5 or 6 SSP's and is playing us all off each other because we think we know the 1 or 2. :lmao: :lmao:

I'm doing well. I worked quite a bit this weekend and went to a party. Not sure if when I am going to fall asleep as I just got up around 4pm. After going to bed a little after 9am. My mystery employee showed up, turns out he was in prison. He was driving to see his daughter and got pulled over. He had a warrant out for his name for not paying a previous ticket so they took him straight to prison. He had the nerve to ask if he could have his job back. It is not my decision, but I don't think I would hire him back.

I have been busy doing paperwork for Girl Scouts, planning the bridging ceremony and working on an adult recruitment campaign. Somehow the idea got to council and they want photos and more info once it is together to share with other service units and to perhaps use on the council level. So I can't mess it up.

I've also been trying to apply to grad school, fill out FAFSA paperwork, and have to figure out when to take the GRE. Yuck, I hate standardized tests and all those forms. I should have started my master's right after my bachelor's I would almost be finished but alas I did not.

I think that is about all for now.

Would you share it with me as well when you get it done? That is one of the major issues that we are struggling with in our council. I haven't been involved as much this year but I'm going to an adult only Girl Scout week-end this Friday so will find out if they have any cool ideas to share with you.

Good morning everyone! I thought everyone might need a laugh today. This video was posted on the CB but I know a lot of people here don't venture over there so I thought I'd post the link. You'll need sound so if you're at work turn the volume down a bit so you don't get caught ;)

This guy has some good moves! I especially like the part after Kung Fu Fighting :teeth: .

I did some reading last night trying to catch up but I didn't take notes so I'm off to try to catch up again. Hope you all have a great day!!

Thank you for the compliments Theresa, I knew if I didn't do it right away I would forget as it would get lost in the shuffle of things I must do. I hope your sleepover goes well and it helps those girls increase their self esteem.
Becky would you mind sharing this with me too?

Growing up I knew a Penny Nickels and a Misty Dawn, parents really should think before they are allowed to name their kids!
DH used to work with a Richard Richard. Only the last name is pronounced Ree-shard.

Shana-my prayers are with you and your entire family.

Kristine-baby Nathan is beautiful!!!

Denise-continued prayers for Rees. (I did make it to the PO finally)

I am behind again trying to get caught up at work but I really need some advise. Please tell me if I am I over reacting to this:

Saturday was my birthday and Lizzie was upset that she didn't have a gift for me so I asked DH to take her to a small local bookstore when he went out to run a errand. When they came home I heard DH & Lizzie discussing a Soduko book they bought for me (I am a numbers gal so I would have really liked it). When they gave me the gifts there was a presidents sticker book from Lizzie (my DH is a history buff and he said I could do it with Lizzie and maybe I'd learn something too-nice huh?) and an early reader history book about 2 local girls who scared off the British by playing the fife and drum from Joe & Emma. I had told DH the trip was my gift so he didn't need to get me anything. I asked DH later what happened to the Soduko book and he said he couldn't find it when they were wrapping the gifts. Lizzie had taken it. It is now on her desk. I told her that she really hurt my feelings by taking a gift that was meant for me-especially when she knows what I have planned for her birthday. I'm really hurt by her but am I expecting too much from a 6 (nearly 7) year old? I'm really mad at DH for allowing her to get away with this and for allowing her to treat me like this. How can not see how bad it is for her to think this behavior is OK? Now I don't even really want to go away with her. I am considering canceling the trip and using the Southwest credit to purchase air for the family trip. I've spoken to Lizzie about it several times but she still hasn't given up the book that isn't hers. I don't think I should just take it from her. DH said he's spoken to her twice but I don't see how he ever let this happen in the first place.

Is this all just about a stupid book? I think it so much more. I just don't know what to do/how to react.
