How precious. Makes me want another. :teeth:
I am definitely missing a gene! I looked at him and thought he was gorgeous but then I moved on... :rotfl: it's the same with my friends kids - at any age... when they're babies I sit and stare at them fascinated and when they're older I love to play with them... but I don't actually want one of my own... people always say I'm so good with kids that I'll change my mind when I'm older... which bugs me a bit because I know I won't, I just look forward to being an aunty :)

Ds Blake had his church choirs musical production tonight with another performance tomorrow so am now behind again. He was the youngest kid and a few time he was a beat off on the dance steps but overall did well. :goodvibes Unfortunately the day was kind of rough cause Zachary had 4 meltdowns today with 2 being in public. :guilty: So there was someone at church who seemed to look at me pointedly (maybe I'm being oversensitive :confused3 ) Oh well tomorrow will be brighter :sunny:
Clare: I loved the oak tree quote I copied and save it I think I might put it on the whiteboard in our kitchen to remind myself. :) :wizard: Hope you can get your writing done and out of the way.
Vicki: Congratulations :cheer2: He looks like a cutie.
Amy: Love the pics. The one of Alyssa dancing is just too sweet and the cake one very cute. Yep DH loves Red Robin's fries too. He can eat 3 baskets yet he never gains weight. :sad2: That's just wrong.
Deb: Sorry to hear plans got messed up and that the campout didn't go well. Hope Nick is OK. :wizard: Hopefully next weekend will go better. :wizard: :wizard:
Julia: Congratulations to your brother when is the pirate: due?
Bernadette: Welcome back and have fun getting ready for your next trip. :thumbsup2 I'm sure you and DD will have a fun time.
Nicholas and Matt: :woohoo: Congrats on the wins.
Baloo Have a nice Sunday and a belated party: :cake: :bday: to Joe
Becky: Nice pictures Was the first one inside the Castle? :confused3 I have never been inside but always wanted to eat at CRT.
Anne Marie :grouphug: It is hard taking all the baby stuff down and acknowledging their not our little babies anymore. I'm not sure I will ever be good at letting go as they grow. I still see them the way they were when we first brought them home sometimes.
Jo Nice to see you  Enjoy your weekend off. It must be nice to finally be done with no more house projects taking up your free time. :wizard: I hope you have a lovely Mother's Day and your ex is true to his word because you deserve it.
Anyone I missed :wizard:
Denise: Are you feeling OK today? Is Rees having any more reflux pain? :wizard: that the fig household is having a great weekend.
And that's all folks :wave2:

Good evening all. Just got home from work so I'm heading back to page 1994 in hopes of catching up. I thought that I'd be home alone tonight and have plenty of time to catch up, but it didn't work out as planned. Chris and Nick ended up coming home from the Boy Scout Camping trip as Nick collided with another boy during a game on wet grass and fell backwards hitting his head on the ground. Thankfully we have an EMT and a Peditrician that are leaders so he was well checked over. He apparently lost his color and threw up so they thought it best that he come home tonight and sleep in his warm bed as it was cold and rainy at the camp. Colby and Hunter were at my parents while I was at work and Colby had already decided that he wasn't spending the night. As soon as Hunter heard that Nick got hurt he was ready to come home too. So instead of just me we have a full house. Nick said that he no longer has a headache and his color is back so that is good news. The pediatrician thought that he might have a mild concussion at worst, but wasn't overly concerned. Nick just wanted to go to bed, but he had spent all day outside involved in busy activities which he isn't used to so I'm sure that he is exhausted. Chris just watched and he is exhausted. I'll be back catching up now.

deb

:wizard: Hope he's feeling better this morning and that you had a nice evening with your sons :grouphug:

Nothing wrong with that my younger sister doesn't want any either. Which is good since she hasn't found a DH yet :rotfl: But even than I think she means it which is OK she is one fun aunt when we make it all the way out there to visit. :)

He thinks that he was throwing up because he tried the chili that was served for supper and he doesn't normally eat chili. We were proud of him for trying it.

I was so touched by Hunter's reaction. He was genuinely concerned about his big brother, but he also told my Mom that he was really worried about Mommy because she spent days getting everything together for the trip. He didn't want me to be upset that they didn't end up camping over night. :rotfl: It really touched me that one of my kids noticed that I spend so much time getting everything perfect for them. It was an ah ha moment.

Deb

:cloud9: See that makes all the hard work worth it - you've got some great kids there Deb you are so lucky

The shorter dresses are in right now but geesh flip flops? That's like wearing your jammies to the prom.

I wore flip flops on my wedding day... but I did get married at Sunset Pointe... and I don't wear heels so wanted something comfy... they were pretty gold ones with flowers on to match my dress :)

Well - y'all weren't very chatty last night - anyone would think it was Saturday night and you all have real lives to live or something! :rotfl:

Well my cat woke me up at 6.45 - I've already done my aerobics session - caught up here - and it's only ten to eight! Nothing more to do but grab some rice crispies and get back to writing...

Hope you all have a great day.

Hi all! I just wanted to share where I went this morning, otherwise known as a very proud aunt moment

My nephew is a pitcher for his high school team and just signed to play college baseball (on scholarship) at McNeese State University here in Louisiana. His signing was at the school this morning. He will play next year as a Freshman and his coach told him he thought he'd be there 3 years then be high enough in the draft to go pro. That's a long way away and anything could happen between now and then, but I'm so proud of and excited for him. He's a great kid!!

Here's his picture:

Cool, congrats :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Okay I can, I think, answer this one without the ewwww factor. When going into the place where any big equipment is held, hangar for example, some of the smells are so strong you can taste them. I personally think coffee always tastes like how gas smells unless it's in an Arby's Jamocha shake. Then yummmmy!!

eta: I see Paula answered!!

Is that counted as coffee??
Then I love coffee too :teeth:

Now that question definitely could have been answered by doing a web search!

Of course, it's a movie based on the book silly! Directed by the famous Francis Ford Coppola. Starring a bunch of "up and coming" actors: Patrick Swayze (Darry), Rob Lowe (Soda Pop), C. Thomas Howell (Ponyboy), Matt Dillon (Dally), Emilio Estevez (Two-Bit), Ralph Macchio (Johnny), Tom Cruise (Steve), Diane Lane (Cherry)...

Amy :)

Tom Cruise - the crazy one - yucky!!!!

I want to say HELLO  to everyone else.I am heading for bed.

Today ,well May 6, was Joe's birthday. We didn't do anything just worked around the house then hung out on the patio.Joe barbqued spare ribs and I made a yummy chocolate cake.We had a few drinks,my mother gave us fits tonight and I'm just worn out.

Have a super Sunday DDA! :grouphug:

Alicia - sounds like you had a relaxing day, yesterday. I cannot believe you got all caught up in one reading! WOW!

As Steffy says: "Nice to see your typeface here" :thumbsup2

When I was at uni I used to have a load of post it notes stuck on my wall with quotes on, my friends used to take the mickey but I think that inspirational words can be good for you to read now and again!

Everytime I hear this Tim McGraw track I think of the DDA so I thought I'd post the chorus here:

We carry on, when our lives come undone
We carry on, 'cause there's promise in the mornin' sun
We carry on, as the dark surrenders to the dawn
We were born to overcome
We carry on

When we're going through the bad times it helps to remember that the dawn will come and things will get better.

I have to hold him down - put it in his mouth and tell him he can't get up until he chews it - I wonder how long before he just gives in

It's so strange to hear when parents have to do that, I have never had a problem giving either of the kids medicine. DS loves the blue medicine (raspberry advil) and will ask for it just out the blue every 6 months or so when he is not sick.

Now getting DD her shots at the Ped. is another story and she needs her 12 yr ones this time and DH refuses to take her.

Off topic but while I am posting pictures, an awesome view of the MK from my favorite ride.

That is one of Chuck's favorite rides as well because of the view from the top. He really enjoys it at night.

Do you think that she'll read your note??!!! :lmao: I don't think she needs the warning anyway. She has to have some program that sets off alarms in the house to warn her that we are getting close!

Probably has the trips refreshing the page for and yelling the numbers while she does other stuff :lmao: :lmao: :teeth:

Everyone is different and needs to do what they are happy with. Being an aunty is great too! You get to spoil them and send them home. I'm looking forward to eventually being a grandmother (Katrina isn't sure she wants kids but Becky does). My sisters kids come and stay with me every couple of summers. I love having them.
