Proud mom moment!!

Cassidy's Jazz Band got 2 1's and 1 2 at the State Jazz Band Festival. The 2 was in sight reading(which none do so well in anyway). Now we have to wait until the end of the week to find out if she won a soli award.
Woohoo Cassidy!! :Pinkbounc

Tell me about it...I don 't remember being sun sensitive before...maybe it was the sunscreen...maybe it was too long in the sun.....maybe it was the liquor :lmao:

So liquor and sunshine don't work?? Houston, we have a problem!!

Hi!!

Hopping on and off for exactly as long as it takes me to type this. Have customer events tomorrow and Fri, so may not be on much in the next few days.

But!!!

I just saw that Rooms to Go now has Disney-theme furniture!! Check it out here. Had to share it with y'all as I knew this board would love it!

:grouphug: and :wizard: to all!

Talk to you in a few days (or tonight if I get organized early in the evening).

Jennifer

Kristine --

I have a friend who gets this kind of rash every time she goes to WDW. The doctor told her it is a burn from the reflection from the pavement. Did you do a lot of walking around on pavement? Or possibly the glare from all that sunbathing... :sunny:

BTW: I thought you were going to bed.

Here in PA we do not have tax on clothing items including shoes.

But you must pay tax on bathing suits. I think they are encouraging naked swimming, as swimming suits are considered non-essential.

If you lived closer we could have a marathon! I think that's the only way I watch it. I always swear I'm just going to watch a bit, but I tend to watch all of it over the course of 2 evenings at best!
When Brian goes out of town or has to work all night I don't sleep well so I pull out the videos. I've had them for years so I'm hinting to Brian to replace them with the DVD's for Christmas.

I usually watch all 6 hours at one time. Once I get started I can't stop. I'm the same way with the book.

My former neighbor's husband was a marine and she and I used to have marathons when he was out of town.

Congrats Jen! :cool1:

I am sorry about your friend :wizard: & prayers

Well DDAs....my junior year of college is OVERRRRRRR :cool1:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc
I am so excited!

Theresa -- tell Cassidy congrats from me on her band's accomplishments. That is terrific!

Jennifer -- thanks for the link to the furniture... fun to look through!

I have a proud Mom moment to share too. As you know, Kristin (DD19) is a theatre performance major in college. Every spring the entire department is required to audition for the following semester's Main Stage productions. This is a highly competitive time as they only do 4 shows a year on that stage and there are about 150 performance majors vying for those casts.

The plays being produced next semester are "The Nerd" (a comedy) and "Medea" (... not a comedy ;) )

Kristin assumed that if she was to be cast she would win a role in the comedy since that is one of her strengths. Well... guess what... ::yes:: ... you got it... she is in "Medea." She was cast as one of the Chorus.

The director is a Visiting Artist from the Royal Shakespeare Company who is quite young and a little out of the box, so Kristin is more enamored with the production now. The callbacks were rigorous and she is fascinated by the tack this director is taking so far. The role of Medea will be played by a very talented hearing impared grad student. She will sign her lines and they will be interpreted in the spoken word. I cannot wait to see it!

I am so proud of Kristin and her hard work to get this part and am looking forward to watching her grow as an actor through this new opportunity. If I could, I would buy all the available tickets and invite you all to Tammi's house to stay so you could be there for opening night.... :rotfl2:

Actually, I did both. Right now I feel miserable...it is itching like crazy, plus it hurts.

Kate- good to hear that the MRI was positive. Hopefully it isn't migraines because that's alot to handle for us grown ups much less munchkins.
Congratulations Cassidy!

I just noticed that the DIS says it is 8:24 but my computer clock says 8:37... weird!

my little guy is such a trooper -

we tried one more time to get him to willingly go in the machine - no dice - I told him - you can lay down or they will give you a shot

he said "me get shot"

by the time we saw the doctor and get ready for the sedative - it was about 2:00 and he was fading quick - I still hoped he wouldn't need the sedative - but as soon as he saw the machine - he tried to run -

I felt so HORRIBLE holding him down for the IV and once they give the sedative you can't stroke them b/c the skin is too sensitive - I was holding his hand and looking in his eyes and he was pleading with me to make them stop - it was awful - thankfully he fell asleep on the first push of the IV and they did not have to give him too much medicine

he slept for two hours after - when we woke him up and he wanted the IV out - I told him once he drank his juice they would take it out - he drank his juice and when the nurse walked over with crackers he said "TAKE THIS OUT!!" she thought he was hilarious and everyone agreed he was just fine and could go home

he is asleep now - but they said he will be wobbly for the night and tomorrow - he fell off the couch twice within five minutes of getting home while trying to move around on it

and then he thought it was HILARIOUS to run around my family room b/c he was so wobbly - it was like he had the effects of spinning without spinning so he thought that was GREAT

he is mad at me b/c I wouldn't get him McDonald's on the way home - so Steve is bringing it - he had to keep down soft food first - which he did

we are going to give him tylenol and hope the headaches go away this week - I love the doctor - she gave me her cell phone and told me to call her if I need her - now that is a GREAT doctor

thank you all for your thoughts and prayers - it means the world to me that you all are here to support me!!!

I rescheduled my doctor appointment Friday afternoon and should know more about my knee then!
I've been speed reading trying to find the final update. I hope it's not migraines, but if it is, at least you'll know what you're dealing with. Nick sounds like he was very brave!

Aloe and Benadryl ought to help.

So my friend has reminded me, why I don't like driving when I am tired. He was driving home and fell asleep at the wheel, he hit a tree and the guardrail and he flipped his car over and totaled it.

He is extremely lucky to be alive and to hardly have any injuries. He had to have staples in his right knee, he is bruised and sore all over and his head hurts, plus he doesn't remember what happened, which I think is probably a good thing. He is walking, talking and went to work but is so lucky to be alive. He was only about a mile from his house.

This has me scared because of how I work and am out at all hours. I had a friend who died because they fell asleep at the wheel, so it has me a little shook up. As I sometimes drive when I am tired, it has reminded me I need to be especially careful.

Becky,
I agree. After Steffy and I got back from WDW we went to work the next day and about 2pm she told me to just go home. I was just getting so tired and making mistakes. On the way home there was a lot of traffic stopped and so I stopped too. Thank goodness my cell phone rang because i had fallen asleep for just seconds. We vowed that for future trips, we would take the next day off.

Hello everyone!!! I'M BAAACK!!

And I am exhausted!! We had a lot of fun...it was weird to have no children around. It was in the upper 90's the whole time we were there...Bill was in his glory. We laid out in the sun every day. Yesterday I came done with some strange red rash on my legs..looks like a blotchy sun burn. I was glad I didn't get the the first day, as I think it would have ruined the trip.

We saw a few shows..the biggest production was Mystere (cirque de solieil sp?) I must be the only person that just doesn't get it...everyone but me seemed to love it...it was OK, but I'd never see i again.

I doubt I'll catch up...so if someone wouldn't mind filling me in, I'd appreciate it. I hope everyone is doing well...

I saw a blurb about Nick...Kate, I hope he's doing better.

Paul...Happy belated b-day!!!!!!

Here are a couple of Pal Mickey Pics....

I'm glad you're back safely and had a good time. Looks like Pal Mickey enjoyed himself too!

I think I am going to head to walgreens....I think I have sun poisoning...when I looked it up...it sounds & looks a lot like my legs.
