Dh is off work today as well, so he is taking me out to eat

Deb I hope the weather holds out for you this weekend :wizard:

Denise I am glad to hear that Rees made it through the denist appt. I have one myself tomorrow & I am not looking forward to it

Amy hope your sonogram goes good today. I always loved getting these & seeing my baby growing & seeing the little heartbeat, oh it was pricless.

Riley is doing fine, scrapes & bruises never seem to slow him down. Makes me worry sometimes. He broke the same arm 2 years in a row. The 2cd time he came in the house as calm as could be & said mom I think I broke my arm again :faint: He has another game tomorrow night, hopefully injury free :teeth:

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Catch you all later :goodvibes

okay all caught up. I really need to do some house work but just can't get motivated.

:rotfl2: I just read that and thought - you need a Fly lady 15 minutes! :rotfl2:

I am so converted - Glynis will be proud of me :goodvibes

There's an ad on tv at the moment with this cartoon woman looking stressed and it tells the story about how mornings are a nightmare as the kids can't find their school books, or they're doing their homework etc etc chaotic - and that they never have breakfast and eat sweets from the corner shop. The mum whips out a bottle of some new milk and cereal drink packed with e-numbers and says - but now I've found this the kids can drink it on the way to school and get all the nutrients they need...

The first time I saw it I turned to DH and said seriously - she should get FLYlady - then she the mornings wouldn't be a nightmare and she'd have time to feed them a proper breakfast :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The spell is working on DH too, for three years I've been telling him to make the bed (he's always up last) to no avail... then I tell him Flylady insists the bed is made and bob's your uncle { ;) } he starts making it! Properly too with the pillows on top of the duvet and everything

Gotta  FLYlady :thumbsup2

Well I just got back from the dentist - spent half an hour hanging upside down in the chair - quite literally - have a great headache now the bloods come back! - all for a nice new shiny white filling! Never had one of those before I'm a cheapskate and usually have the awful mercury ones but they put the price of those up so I stumped for a white one instead.

Going to get back to my assignment for a while now.

Oh Denise I was thinking about Rees and BK and Davis while I was hanging upside down in the chair - hope the trip to the dentist went ok for them :wizard:

I guess I should start putting clothes in the camper, but the way the weather has been I'm not sure what to pack. I am really hoping that it isn't a wash out. :grouphug: :wizard:

Thanks Kate!
How's your knee today? And how's Nick?

Thanks again for all the weather well wishes. The forcast this morning says only a 20% chance of rain now for Friday and Saturday and only a 10% chance on Sunday. The power of the DDA is amazing. Which one of you is related to mother nature? ;) I'm really starting to look forward to this trip.

Deb

Maybe it is my connection to the Groundhog... :lmao:

 I'm in Salem, MA (about 30 minutes north along the coast) and am in the city for work during the week and at least one day of the weekend to do something fun with Terra. If you have a few point in your schedule let me know! I should be around. It would be great to meet you.

Tia -- My brother and his family live in Burlington and we are staying at the Marriott out there. When we have a better idea what our plans are I will certainly let you know. I would love to meet you too!

Well, Bernadette sent me a post card from WDW as a thank you for taking notes while she was gone. It is sitting on my kitchen counter. This morning Chuck says to me "Do we need to get you a bulletin board or something to hang in the hallway to display your stuff as it comes from Mickey's travels?" How awesome is that??!!!!

He has always been that way. He might not agree or like something that I want to do but he always supports it. I'm so lucky!!!!!!
WOW! What a great guy! I'm happy to help enable you. :teeth:

Can I just say how amazing the power of the DDA is. When I requested pixie dust this morning there was a 40% chance of showers for both Friday and Saturday and they were actually saying pretty much a wash out. I checked the forcast later this afternoon and it is still a 40% chance on Friday, but only a 20% chance on Saturday  Keep it up DDA. We have powers that even we don't understand. :grouphug: :wizard:

Deb
How cool is that? Here's continued :wizard: pixiedust: that the forecast stays good.

Tonight was just for parents. They went over rules, we got to meet the Principal and K teachers, tour the rooms, ask questions, etc. The kids go for Orientation Aug 3 and the first day of K is Aug 7. You, me, and Dawn all have kids starting Kindergarten this fall. We'll have to commiserate together.
I've got one going off the K too and my baby going off to preschool (that should be real interesting....).

I want to thank everyone for your support yesterday. My DH is brilliant and caring but clueless. When planning Lizzie’s birthday trip I suggested he take her because I was already planning the trip for me and he’s a horticulturalist so I thought he might enjoy the Flower Fest but he said he wouldn’t know how to check into the hotel. I talked to him yesterday and told him he should have Lizzie give him the book (that isn’t hers) and wrap it up from Joe & Emma. So after dinner Joe took Emma by the hand and they gave me the present that DH wrapped. Joe tied on a ribbon with bow and Joe made out the gift tag-To Mommy From Emma. Emma was sick on my birthday and didn’t really take part in the gift exchange so Joe thought the gift should be from her. Isn’t he just the sweetest little boy? Empathetic beyound his years.

There was lots of talk here of double names. One of Lizzie’s Girl Scout leaders is Kelly Kelley. I used whitepages.com to look up her phone number one day and forgot to put in city & state and got 6 pages of Kelly Kelley and none of them were her. :rotfl:

Kate---I need to warn you those margaritas are really strong. You better wear your knee brace the day you have one of those!!! If you want any of my photos full resolution let me know. I have a feeling it will be a lot busier on that DDA trip than when I was just there so it may be harder for you to avoid people in your shots.

Tia-congrats on booking your trip! I'll have to see about meeting up with you guys in Boston. I'll just be home that week from Lizzie's trip and I don't know to tell my DH that I'd like to meet some nice ax murderers I met on the internet. :teeth: He was born at least 100 years too late. He hates technology and is very leary of the net.

Still catching up at work….

Thanks again everyone!
Bernadette

Sounds like my DH!! When he flew to CA last summer without us, I gave him a whole folder of step by step instructions with each leg of the trip mapped out and an envelope attached with the money for that left (subway, bus, shuttle, etc).

DH was also leary when we first started meeting with playgroups in CA as I found them online. We worked out an agreement of no in-home playdates until I knew the people well. For the first dozen or so park playdates, I would call him when I arrived, an hour later and then again as soon as I left so that he could be sure that everything was okay. It was a little extreme in my book, but since it kept him happy and me in the company of other adults, I was willing to go along. Just remember there's safety in numbers and there are two families involved now!

Vicki - those are HILARIOUS!!

The UPS guy just rang my doorbell!! Wonder what it could be!!!!

I promised Julia if he came while she was at school that I would wait for her to open him - so he has a couple more hours in the box - I hope he understands - but the reception he will get from Julia will far outweigh mine!!!

Recipe pretty please :)

Here's the recipe for Orange Pork Chops for anyone who's interested:

4 boneless pork chops (3/4" thick)
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
1 can (6 oz) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1/2 C. chicken broth
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 C. cooked brown rice

Sprinkle both sides of porkchops with salt and pepper. In a nonstick skillet coated with Pam, cook, chops for 3-4 minutes per side or until browned. Transfer to a greased baking dish. In the same skillet, cook garlic for 1 minute. Stir in the orange juice concentrate, broth and Worcestershire sauce; bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Pour sauce over chops and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until meat is cooked through. Serve pork chops with sauce and rice.

I think my knee feels better - but it still collapses - I also have been very easy on it and since the PT is no longer intensive - I think that really makes it feel better -

but since I am not really using it, I am not sure how it will do once I use it normally - so the question is - is it strengthening or am I just not using it? I guess WDW will be a good time to find out!!!

Nick is getting better - he doesn't have major headaches any more but when he cries - he starts to hold his nose and tell me it hurts - I think I am going to take him back to the doctor early next week - it gives me a chance to really see what is going on - I really think it is allergy related as whenever he does get a headache he seems to try to blow it out

This is where the in-laws actually come in handy! They live about 15 minutes from the park and we always stay with my best friend who lives about 1/2 mile away. We can watch the fireworks from her front porch or the boys' bedroom and walk to the parks. Going to DL at least once while there is my consolation payment for going to see the in-laws and for letting DH stay home when we do. Crazy travel-hating man only goes when there is a holiday involved. Actually, taking advantage of that fact is why we are going now instead of after the summer...then it would be birthday season for his family and he would need to go too, thus costing me $250. So, we're going now and thus have more money for Disney! ;)

Well, you are going to have a wonderful time! I absolutely can't wait until we go. We'll be kidless and with another couple (our really good friends) so it will be a time to do what we WANT to do and not what the kids say we have to do. Should be fun and relaxing!

I can't wait to hear about your trip!

Isn't it amazing what the power of positive thinking and some prayers will do? I think the important thing is that we're all focusing our energy on something that is important to someone dear to us! We are all wholeheartedly hoping that this campout will be a success for your sake! You've done so much planning and preparation for it! Let us know, and we'll keep the prayers and pixie dust coming.

Great! Please post pictures & info on the pals DDA adventure thread after Julia gets home. I hope that she has as much fun with him as I did getting him ready. I'm not done yet. More surprises to come for all the pals.

Dawn (that is my sister's name)

I hope this anesthesiologist is much better than your last one. By the way tell your dh that 39 is not old, I should know I just turned 39.
