Dear Mr. Holmes,

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you. All too often in life people only take time out of their busy schedules to write a letter of complaint; I can assure you this is not the case!

I will keep this as brief as possible – my husband turned 40 last year and all he wanted for his birthday was to try to be Grand Marshal of the Share a Dream Come True Parade. I called everybody and anybody with Disney to be told repeatedly that it is a random procedure and one of the true moments of magic within the Kingdom. I was crushed, but determined to do whatever I could to make my husband happy. (I’ll save the glowing remarks about him, but trust me, he’s a great guy!). I made t-shirts for us and kept my eyes open on Main Street. That’s when we met Fritz – the source of this letter. He is such a wonderful man, so caring and kind. He never flinched when a crazy lady (me) bounced up to him and blurted out “could you please help me make my husband’s dream come true?” He never let on that he was the correct person to see about the parade, explained that he had to make a phone call about it and could I wait. I told him I’d wait all day for the chance to make my husband happy. He came back with the good news and we went to share it with our group. Can you imagine a 300 pound man in the middle of Town Square, jumping up and down, crying and hugging Fritz?? It was a magical moment that we will never forget. I’m sure you know what a valuable employee you have in Fritz; I just wanted you to know that the guests at the Magic Kingdom appreciate it as well.

You would think that the story stops there, but it does not. On our next trip to the world we stumbled across Fritz again on Main Street. We thanked him profusely for providing memories that are irreplaceable and pushed our luck to ask for a favor. A friend we had met online wanted Tinkerbelle’s autograph, but as you know, it is difficult to ask a fairy for an autograph!! But Fritz again went above and beyond. If you open the attached link you will see that Fritz again made memories for somebody else’s family. He does what ever is necessary without a blink of an eye and I think an employee should be recognized when they go above and beyond. He made precious memories for two families and they will both be forever grateful. Would you please see that Fritz gets a copy of this letter? I don’t know his last name or I would send one directly to him. In the link we refer to him as “Fritz” to ensure his anonymity and preserve the magic for others. I think you’d be pleased with the comments from the DIS Board about Fritz as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this and the link. We think Fritz is the best and wanted you to know as well.

Sincerely,

Marti *******

I think that it sounds great, Marti! The perfect blend of personal feeling and the facts of the situations. I know I would love to receive a letter like that if I were Fritz or his supervisors.

You would think so. I hate to change all of insurance, but I guess I'm going to start calling around for other quotes. Or make him do it

Edited: those posts went by quick!!!
Congrats Kate on getting 27000 on page 1800 :cheer2:

only 6 post away before 27000......who wants it??
Anyone want to claim it??
I personally don't really want it since I don't know how to design a fancy enough celebration. But someone needs to claim it!!!

:grouphug: Marti. I am sorry for the loss of your uncle. I hope that your migraine is feeling better quickly. If it helps, I think it may be moving my way so maybe yours will subside now. :wizard: :grouphug:

Glynis, Being the person that has been out of school the longest sounds like a big plus to me. You are more mature, confident in your abilities, have decided what you want to do with your life and are reaching for that goal and from all that I've read you've got them beat in the smarts department too. Give yourself a pat on the back and enjoy tonight. I'm sure your presentation will knock them dead.

Deb

Aww, thanks. I really needed that, Deb!

I have no idea what happened there - I saw you say 12 posts and thought woohoo I'm in with a chance and then everyone posted at once and Kate got it!

Lyn is posting that there are 6 left and she's actually 6 too late!

:rotfl:

Kate have you noticed yet? :)

I hadn't heard of it either. Merriam-Webster says the definitions are British. So maybe Theresa's family picked it up somewhere? :confused3 Her definition was right on!

You weren't alone though! I like the word, it's fun :teeth:

ETA: I'm a nerd, aren't I? :rotfl:

I'm really leaving now, running late in fact -- but I had to know why I had never heard the word

I'm relieved to hear it is of British origin. You can ask me anything about math and I'm clueless, but I'm pretty up-to-date on sayings.... now I don't feel quite as dumb as I did! And no, you aren't nerdy!

Does anyone use Juice for downloading podcasts?

I've downloaded a stack of Disney podcasts and can't work out how to transfer them to my mp3 player

So I really don’t want to post about my last week as it will probably bring me to tears again but I feel I need to update my DDA family and also to get some of these things off my chest to perhaps reduce my stress level. Last time I was on the Disboards was last Tuesday morning, except for briefly last night and I got kicked off.

If you are still reading, with my excessive blabbering I am so grateful. If you’ve read this far you deserve a great big hug and a pat on the back. So many people would have stopped reading or listening to me go on and on. I know there are many people out there who have it worse off than me. I really don’t need pixie dust and well wishes, just someone to listen to me get all this crap off my chest. Thank you for listening to me *itch and whine.

You are all so awesome and some of the kindest, most caring and thoughtful people in the world. I can’t do enough to thank you for everything you have given and brought to my life. Even though I have never met you I appreciate you making me laugh, cry and understanding my Disney obsession. I’m hoping that I can possibly go to the DC DDA meet, so I can meet some of you. Thank you for everything. I'm not sure when I will be on again as I am off to work.

Becky

Becky-

You made me cry for you....darling you need to find a nice quite room and cry and fall asleep and find time for yourself.

We'll be here with :grouphug: and ears whenever you need them.

I wish I had an answer to your problems but I don't. I just hope they get better shortly. Saying no is a learned thing and I am still learning but getting better at it with practice.

The guy sounds like a real doorknob and you are better off without him, even as a "friend".

I wish we all lived closer to help you out!! Until then :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Becky --

:grouphug: to you and :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: . You have way too much going on in your life right now, so lean on us whenever you need to. I hope you get some rest soon, and peace in the decisions you are making.

Oh, Marti! :grouphug: to you! It is so hard to lose someone like this. I don't blame you for going back to bed. The migraine by itself would be enough, but add the loss on top of it, and it only magnifies everything.

I wish there was something more I could do for you! Take care of yourself, and your family. You will all be in my prayers.
