When we moved, we got boxes from the grocery store. It saved them from having to break them down and recycle them. Don't know if they will do that in your area or not. Usually you have to let them know the day before their shipment and they'll let you know when you can pick them up.

Liquor stores are good too - their smaller boxes are nice and sturdy for breakable things.

Plus, it will really have your neighbors wondering who's moving in next door! :teeth:

I need someone to congratulate me and Alan is away, so I'm turning to my family for back pats. I made my goal today of finishing one of my final projects for the semester!!!! It's not even due until May 5, but it's done and submitted to the Professor's email. Hooray! It's such a load off my chest. Now I have to create a web page for a library with a link to a blog, take one final exam (ick) and I'll be done until September! Hooray for me! I made it through this semester! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

I know this isn't a big deal to everyone, but it's HUGE to me! Thanks for letting me cheer!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: It sounds like a big deal to me!! CONGRATS!!!

DDA TRIP REPORT

Friday, May 19
8:00 am We need to get to MGM before all those Star Wars Freaks – oops I mean fans…lets toast our trip with some mimosa’s first!!! lmartin2711 & marcij and we are off!

Thanks Kate for thinking of me on the trip. Mimosa's are one of my favorites. Everytime I see the siggie for May 18th it makes me want to be there with ya'll. I don't think my cousin would understand me dumping on her wedding reception party to go to WDW.

When I was young, we used the flip top liquor boxes for packing for our camping trips (we couldn't afford suitcases plus they stacked nicely in the tent). My parents always wondered what the other campers thought when we unloaded box after box of liquor boxes out of the back of the truck and into the tent. Mom finally painted them one year because she is a teatotaler (sp?) and just couldn't stand it anymore. They are really nice, sturdy boxes.

 Hi!
I was so happy to see only 7 pages since I logged off4 hours ago!!

Kate and Tammi- I LOVE the DDA Pixie Dust Fund idea!!! Let us know when you are ready for donations!!

Amy- when we moved, our moving company "rented" us moving boxes. We got a full refund when we returned them 1 week after the move. And they brought the wardrobe boxes to out house the morning of so the hanging stuff from the closets went directly in, on the truck, and right back into the closets at the new house.

Steffy- Congrats on your milestone!!!

Julie- Feel better soon!! :wizard: We ALL get sick sometimes!

Marti- have a safe trip!

Hope I didn't miss anyone...

Most of you who have been on here for a while and especially the past few months will probably remember that my Mom has been steadily declining in health. Well, tonight she died. It was not really unexpected nor sudden, but it hurts, nonetheless. Bob and I were going to PA to visit her and his parents this coming Friday. I guess we will be going sooner now. Please keep my brother in Boston and my sister in Allentown in your thoughts as we all all be traveling at some time this week.

Elin,
So sorry to hear this. You and your family are in my prayers.

Great News to pass along!! :woohoo:

All my hard work has paid off.
We excepted an offer on the house.
$89,000.00 more than we paid for it, less than 3 years ago.
Passed inspection with flying colors.
All is set for a May 15 closing date.
I have an apartment @ work ready for move in May 1.
School isn't out till middle of June.
Then I start looking fo a transfer.
This means I will have to move 2x's instead of 1.
I think my scanity is worth it though.

I can't tell you all how much you have helped me get through this.

Thank you.
Thank all of you.

Congrats!

Hey Kate! What do you think about putting the DDApixiedust website link in your 1st post on this thread? That way if people forget what it is they know a quick & easy place to get to it.
