It just hit me. You guys are doing the Segway tour on your Trip in less than 29 days!
Do you plan on giving us a trip report on this? I've been dying to do this and not sure if I really want to spend the money yet.

There is one up the road on Abernathy RD where the Michaels is.
Have you been to the new centre they built by Perimeter it has a whole bunch of new restaurants, a super target, stores, high rise apartments etc??

I very rarely leave Gwinnett County. I am so busy with kids activities. What about one of these Saturday afternoons??

April 29th anytime.........Do you know of a park where we could meet?? If we do next Saturday the 29th maybe our husbands could also come and we could all bring our own picnic lunch. What do you think??

I am not very close to my mother. My dad was sick when I was a kid & my mother gave me to my grandmother & uncle to raise. They were like angels who swooped in & took such good care of me. I wouldn't have anything that I have today or be the person I am if it were not for them. My grandma died when I was 18 & my uncle Vinnie died in 1996 5 weeks after my first child was born. I was 27. I miss them dearly & wish they were both here to see my kids. Anyway thats the story there....this is why I would love to just take off with my DH & the kids & go to Disney for the holidays to avoid the rest of the family all together..

I promised myself when I was young I'd try to be a good mommy. I love my babies so much & couldn't imagine someone else raising them. I love to play with them, do crafts, listen to music with them, read to them...just BE with them. I think I go overboard even to the point of spoiling them sometimes because I want them to have such a happy childhood. Whoa..ok getting to heavy here Just wanted to get that off my chest.

I think that your grandma and uncle would be very proud of the mother you are and of your kids. It's so much fun being a active, loving, fun mommy and I know that your kids appreciate it more than you'll probably ever know. (Hmm...didn't Glynis say something similar to me just a few days ago. I guess I should listen to her and myself.) Don't worry about spoiling them. I am a firm believer that it's all in the attitude, not in how much or how little you give them monetarily.

Only bad thing is $13,000.00 goes to our Realtor.
Xdh & I split $77,00.00.
I can live with 38,500.00 + $5,400.00 Tax Refunds.
That lives me with $43,900.00.
That will help very nicely with our move.

I so can't wait for school to be out.

Hello DDA –

Tammi and I lied to you last night – but we just weren’t ready to go “live” then. I am so sorry as I am sure the lame design I threw together to throw you off our trail was very disappointing

I want to introduce the DDA Pixie Dust Fund.

As we all get closer, there are more and more situations where I am getting PM’s asking to do something for a fellow DDAer. I think it is amazing how we all want to help each other.

But I hate to constantly be sending you all requests for money and making people feel like it is something they have to do and I also worry that if I don’t do this –we might hurt someone’s feelings.

In addition, people are constantly asking me what they can do for me when I design for them – I am sure that all the designers get asked this question and we just have to say – nothing.

So I have been kicking this idea around for a while and have decided now is the best time to start it.

You can contribute to the DDA Pixie Dust fund anytime you want to and in any amount you want to. You might want to do a small monthly donation, a one time donation, when you see someone you want to spread Pixie Dust to or maybe no donation at all. You may also earmark your donation for something specific.

In addition, when people ask me what they can do for me when I make a design for them – I will ask that they consider contributing to the Pixie Dust fund. I would love for all of the Designers to consider doing this.

I will then keep track of the money and hold it in a special account. When something arises that we as a group want to spread Pixie Dust – I will use this money. On some occasions it might be sending flowers or a gift to a fellow DDAer (and I don’t mean birthday gifts, etc – I mean when they have a death or illness in their family) but what I would really love is to see this grow to where we can do awesome things.

For example, a group near Denise takes about 20 special needs children to WDW once a year – Denise and I would love to design and make each of them and their families custom shirts and deliver them to them just before their trip.

I will keep an eye on the fund and when I think we have enough for a Pixie Dust project and we have one in mind – I will use the money to do it

You all have my word that I will be responsible with the money and not use it for my own personal purposes and Tammi has agreed to help me out with it. We will always let you know when we have done something with the fund and would love suggestions on ways to spread pixie dust!!

Let me know what you all think – and remember – I know we are not all in circumstances where we can do something like this – so this is completely voluntary – just an outlet for those who want to do something!!

As Tammi and I were talking about how to execute – she thought having a web site might make it easier for us to keep people updated and let people know about the fund – so off I went to create one and lo and behold Becky’s voice popped into my head – “wouldn’t it be neat if we had our own online magazine”

Woohoo!! This is awesome Kate. I love the idea of the fund and I love the site. It would be neat to be able to contribute to a trip for special needs kids. I was trying to figure out how I could do something like that. This is perfect.
