Steffy said:Gotta laugh about the comfortable shoes. I have worn SAS shoes (the Freestyle, tie up)for years. With everything. Shorts, (YIKES!!), dresses (old lady, yes I am), dressy clothes.
So when my son got married, his wife looked down at my feet and just shook her head. And I said, hey they're navy, just like my dress!
Fast forward to today. I have a soft cast (the infamous black boot) on my left leg and a teak colored SAS shoe on the right leg, that I had a lift built on so I would walk evenly. And then I have this flowered purse that tinker1bell gave me for my birthday eons ago.
So the kids tell me I not only look like a granny, I look like a great-granny!!
And then, and then, I found a grey hair in my eyebrow.....![]()

You with a grey hair? Where? Let me get my magnifying glass out
tmfranlk said:You need VHS right? It's still associated with eBay, but www.half.com has some copies. A new, in shrink wrap, copy is about $6, plus shipping. I have successfully purchased from half.com sellers on many occassions.

I'm off as well to try and be productiveMy mom is making Easter dinner tonight, I can't wait! I don't really have anything else on the plate though (specifically) so more likely than not I'll be on and off all day
If you have a minute, we could use some pixie dust for our mortgage process. I don't know if there's anything wrong, it's just taking a REALLY long time. And I realize that they do take time. I'm just a little nervous because we aren't getting a traditional mortgage. We're trying to get a 'doctor loan' (sounds shady, but I promise it's a real thing) that has all sorts of certain criteria -- no PMI, not taking deferred student loans into consideration (which is HUGE for residents whose loans are more than they'll make during their entire residency), little to no down but with a good rate still, etc. Basically a loan taking your future income/debt ratio into consideration rather than your current situation.
I don't know, there's a list of like 20 things that we are supposed to look for, and we had very little luck with it around here. There is one company in the area that does it, and the rest are online (which I am less comfortable with). If this company doesn't make it work, I'm not sure where to look. And we don't feel like we have a lot of time. God help any students moving out of their city, this is hard enough while staying IN town!

Have a fantastic day!![]()
sent your way.tmfranlk said:I didn't get any.Unfortunately, they only do ham for orders and catering anymore. I had been hoping they would have it as a special for Easter. Instead I had chicken, but still yummy.
tink2020 said:Oh I LOVE Kinder Eggs! My "brother" (long story) used to send them to us all the time while he was stationed in Germany. When I went to Italy, I had at least one every day and brought home about 30!![]()
My absolute FAVORITE treath though (ever. hands down), is the Kinder Pingui. When I worked at a Marriott nearby, one of our favorite business customers used to bring them to us every time he would stay. Kroger and another local grocery store used to carry them for a short time, but now they don't. And even Jungle Jim's doesn't, so I thought maybe they weren't made anymore.... but I found those in Europe as well, and got all of my friends hooked!

mommy2emmersNmo said:Steffy, The unexpected guests and how you deal with them sounds a lot like my mom's family. They love to invite just about anybody they know to our gatherings and while you know who is going to show up there are always extras that just pop in and we always have room for one more and never having enough food is something they truly don't have a concept of.
.
The recipes are his Dad's. So the family showed up at his Dad's expecting dinner, so they walked them all over here..

We planned for 9 for dinner. Eight plates and an infant... The table was set. The food was finished. I had to make two Wal Mart runs as my son-in-law needed more cheese for the mac and cheese and brown sugar for the sweet potatoes.... The food was delicous!![]()

My son and his wife drove up and I had lots of 'smell the baby's head time'...![]()
They dressed him in his Eagles onesie and a "going to grandma's" bib. So cute..

My son-in-law's family showed up with an additional 7 people..... :![]()
You know, we didn't miss a beat. Pulled out paper plates, plastic forks (I so love that my daughter always has them on hand) and we just had a ball.
Nanny T hid eggs in our backyard and the kids ran around and found them...My granddaughter found my Disney easter egg decorating kit (I'm still unpacking from the move...long story) and we blew the yolks out of 3 eggs. She gave 2 to her cousins. We couldn't find the vinegar until after the kids left, so the eggs color wasn't very deep. But we put glue on and beads. They had a ball...
Then we made cupcakes. Nothing as elaborate as y'all. I'm just not that talented. But they were cute and I used Sponge Bob Squarepants muffin liners and my grandson loved them.![]()

This is why we bought this house. The kids had a ball in the back yard. The inlaws had a place to smokeWe had 16 people when we expected 9 and it was no big deal. Just pull up a chair or sit on the sofa and pull up a tv tray or sit on the deck and take your plate and smoke.... There was still plenty of food, some had plates of food to take with, so my DSIL cooked enough.... Everybody gets along, and it is so nice that my DSIL has so much family right near us.
It was such a good holiday. I am blessed.![]()

Which reminds me. On our front porch we have a turtle garden figure. When we got home from the vet, all I see is this little turtle looking at me and all I can do is laugh. I will never look at it the same way again, in fact, I might have to find new home for him.
I don't think anyone is going to look at a turtle in the same way again
bengalbelle said:We had a great day yesterday too. We felt we had been going overboard with the baskets the last few years so we simplified this year. MUCH better! Christopher was crazy about everything in his basket and after he finished looking in it said he wanted to make an announcement. Then he thanked the Easter bunny. The Easter Bunny hit a home run with the Teen Titans DVD. Christopher and Brian watched it for a while yesterday morning while I did some cleaning. Sad, I know on Easter but I was behind from being sick.
We did not go to church yesterday. We haven't been in quite some time, actually. We haven't really found a church that we feel comfortable in. The one we're members in is very large and sort of hard to get involved in. It's also far away. We don't have any Presbyterian churches in our area either. Anyway, my goal for next Easter is to be settled in a church.
For lunch we went to my inlaws and had boiled shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, mushrooms, salad, sausage, Boudin Balls, bread, Peep cupcakes and Strawberry Daiquiri cake. We had a really nice time. There were some close family members there as well. Lots of nice conversation and Christopher spent hours chasing after his older cousin and hunting Easter eggs. He was dirty and sweaty when we left![]()
Today I have to finish cleaning and get back to decluttering. I've been slowly doing this since December! Christopher's out of school this week so I'm letting him be lazy today, but I've got to plan some fun things for the rest of the week.
I hope everyone has a great day!
