I’m surprised VB sells for as much as it does now. Which tells me there are people willing to buy because they are focused on the cheap buy in price, not the dues. Which leads me to believe VB will not go to zero. There will continue to be buyers who say, wow, sure the dues are higher, but I can just use that to book a BWV resort view studio in December! Ok, well maybe not that ridiculous (although I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some buyers who think you can do that).

So long as there is theoretically a time of year you can use those VB points at a WDW resort where you can get $50 or $60 of value per point, I think there will be suckers who think that theoretical possibility is not just theoretical, but quite doable.

Those of us on these boards know better and that’s why, outside of a few limited use cases, we wouldn’t consider buying VB.

I'm guessing that it will be tough to sell a contract that has 5 or fewer years remaining on it.
Everything sells for the right price.

Unless DVC resorts are generally under water---meaning, they have Dues that are higher than prevailing rental rates---there will be some residual value there. It might not be worth very much, but it will not be hard to re-home it with someone who can put it to use.

Pretty much the only way Dues exceed prevailing rental rates is through some economic or geopolitical catastrophe that significantly lowers demand for WDW vacations. And if that happens, selling your 200 DVC points might not be your largest concern.

I got spoiled last week with a 9-day turnaround time from ROFR for my BLT purchase. I'm selling a different contract and I'm on ROFR day 11 with no news. My expectations have been set too high this month 😆. I haven't seen any new posts for contracts passing ROFR this week. I know it doesn't matter as the seller since someone will be taking it whether it's the buyer or Disney but just want all the things wrapped up.

The cheap buy-in price is definitely a important consideration - I oont think they're suckers.
Hey, if VB was given away for free right now. I would take one.
