Join the club! Of course, you could come to the World in January to do the half marathon with us, and then we'd be able to meet each other and see the World at the same time.

Sometimes I get a little overwhelmed as I realize that although I know DL like the back of my hand, I know nothing about WDW. I can't wait to learn, though!

I would love to go in Jan, but DH is scheduled for a four month deployment to the land of sand sometime that month. But then again the military changes it’s mind faster than I can keep up with.

I was looking to see if I could afford to come in January for the half marathon. Looking at American Airlines which is what we usually fly, it is $774 from Green Bay stopping in Chicago (the week after is only $218). So I checked to fly out of Chicago directly - $610. I can fly into Miami first and then onto Orlando for $346. That is still higher than what I'd want to pay. I'm still looking.

Anyone want to share a room if I can make it? I'm trying to find a way to make this affordable so my DH doesn't freak on me for wanting to go by myself. He won't really want to go but will be concerned about the money. I still have to put together our budget to show him we can afford DVC now. I'm afraid I might lose that one as we want to put in a pond/stream, put the flooring in the breezeway, etc. this year.

Chanon - Next time you're on the TGM forum will you look at my revised itinerary and see what you think. I was trying to take some of the advise, but I'm not sure if I like how it turned out. I don't think my version was too bad, especially with just the two of us so we'll see.

Everyone else - What is your preference when it comes to park hopping? We tend to park hop every day. The main reason being that we don't usually take resort breaks because, well, it's just not worth it for me. Terra either naps before we get back or wakes up as soon as we get there so then I have to entertain her the whole time so it's no break for me. If we stay at the parks, hopping gives us a nice break. Plus, I like the change in scenery. My original itinerary had different parks for AM and PM. Trying to take into account some advice from other posters I ended up with 3 days that are all the same park (4 if you could our AK day from open to the parade and then no plans for the night). What does your family prefer?

HUMMM.... It was more like he tried hiding the ring in a oyster instead of a pearl at that place in Epcot in Japan while I was on the Haunted Mansion in the MK, so when we went back the next day I'd find it but then it was gone type of dream. Like I said, it was weird.

I don't have far to look for my first post. Well, after the 80's fashback last weekend, I might have to go back a little further. :teeth:

Kate - What are these famous bags I'm hearing about?!

Maybe he hid the ring on your first trip and takes you back every year hoping to find it, I hope this trip he will!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Kristin -

What kind of Maclaren did you get for Kyle? What weight is it rated to? I saw one in someone's sig picture and her son was definitely bigger than Terra. She said it was a Triumph and was rated to 55 pounds, but everything I can find online says 40 for the Triumph and nothing for the Quest or Techno. AlbeeBaby has one color Triumph on sale for $110 that has me tempted, but probably not if it is for up to 40 pounds. Terra is currently 35 and 37-38". Since I replaced the wheel on our Pliko P3 is doesn't seem to push as well as it used too. I think we veer too easily, something that was already starting to happen more. I'm not sure what the deal is.

Also, does the Maclaren TRULY fold one handed? I can't fold my Pliko without using both pointer fingers, then one hand, then my foot and the help of the ground. An easier fold and load on the bus wouldn't be bad.

welcome to all the newbies.

I have often forgotten to put the money from the toothfairy and have said it was raining and the fairy couldn't fly thru the rain, then she had to catch up from when it rained etc etc. :teeth:

My family usually park hops. However because my girls are older and my DH needs the break, we go back to the resort between. If it were just me, I'd stay in one park, have lunch, take a break in the park and people watch. Then head to another park doing some more people watching and enjoy the second park of the day. It just makes it seem like you've done so much more when you park hop. We have been known to do three parks in one day.

Hi, everyone. Thank you so very much for the prayers and calls. Rees had a good nights sleep and was able to go to school today. I've talked with the GI doctor this morning and am waiting to hear back from him on whether they will schedule the Upper GI ASAP or do an endoscopy instead. I am certain he will need the Fundo repaired quickly, and John and I both want it scheduled as soon as possible. We don't want to see Rees in that kind of pain or do permanent damage to his esophagus.

Again, thanks to you all, and I will keep you posted.

Denise,
So glad to hear Rees had a good nights sleep.

With all the talk of kids birthdays, it made me realize that my babies both are hitting a major milestone this year. Becky is going to be 18 on July 13. Katrina is going to be 21 on September 23. :sad1:

That is exactly what I like to do! While Terra is napping in the stroller, I just walk around enjoying the scenery. I bought the Hidden Mickey's book for this trip durin those times. I also people watch during that time. Then we park hop sometime after lunch and just have a leisurely evening. Last August when we were there for 4 days with my mom, dad, sis (9yo then) and my dad's collegue with their 8yo we did the break thing the first day. Terra had already napped by then and was bored at the condo. For the rest of our stay, my mom, Terra and I stayed in the parks to just look around and watch the shows/movies while everyone else went back to the condo.

I got some cute Mickey and Minnie cookies today at Walmart, the backs are dipped in chocolate and they have colored sugar on top. They also had a package of Donald and Daisy and I thought of Rees and how he likes Donald Duck and was hoping he had a good day at school.

Becky

I bought those for the kids about a month ago and they loved them, I put them in baggies and sent them to school for snack everyday so DS didn't finish them in one day!! I got the donald and daisy and haven't been back to WM since.

That is so cool that you have found a way to blend both traditions. Do you mind me asking what you do? I am not Jewish, but I love to expose my children to different religions, and traditions (in the hopes of making them a more well-rounded bunch of kids). I've wanted to try a Passover dinner, maybe for next year. Could you give me some hints? Anyone else is welcome to chime in as well!

We are going to my sister for passover tonight and about to leave, I will PM you some recipes this weekend, most of mine are from SA. It is amazing the little things that are similar, tonight my children will find the afikomen (small piece of matzah that gets hidden) on Sunday you will have an easter egg hunt, we also eat boiled eggs tonight in salt water etc etc

I need to go but will send you some recipes etc on the weekend.

I think they need tie dye shirts....and since I didn't give myself blue melons :lmao: the last time I tie dyed I would like to do it. Unless Kate wants to do it. We got a green at the tie dye place that is lime green!! Vicki work on the travel schedule for the boys and I will happily send mine on his merry way. I am going to put a disposable camera in with mine as I am not as tech savvy as you all and would love pic's for the girls to see without waiting until mom gets better on the computer. Do we need one for the other 2? I did win 3 cameras awhile back and I could donate them.

Oh very funny!! :lmao:

OK...I am behind...don't think I'll catch up..so what's the deal with Pal Mickey? Is he travelling all around? Can I still sign up??

I am going crazy...since Bill's dad died in Feb. his mother has been doing very poor (mentally). Every day there seems to be a new problem, delusion or paranoia to deal with. Some days I have a hard time dealing with it.

My firstborn son is going to be 4 tomorrow. Wow! Where has the time gone?! For his birthday we're just going to do cake and ice cream with the family, but this weekened we're taking him to the park in a neighboring town that has a kiddie train, kiddie roller coaster and a merry-go-round. (This is their website.) We plan on spending the day there. Tonight we took the family out for a pre-birthday dinner at a nice new Mexican restaurant.

This is my boy riding on the train last year (the date's wrong on the photo!)

He's adorable! Happy Birthday!

Vicki, Your girls are so close in age to my 2 boys. Scott will be 18 on Sept.2 and Mike will be 21 on Dec. 3rd. 2 milestones for us this year as well!

On the topic of the Disney shortbread cookies: We love them at our house!

My kids love that they have chocolate on the back, and favorite characters on the front! We've had Mickey/Minnie, Donald/Daisy, Pooh/Hunnypot, Chicken Little/Fish Out Of Water, and all the Princesses in Spring Bonnets. They are darling. They smell wonderful, but I haven't been able to try them, yet. I've got another 20 pounds to go before I dare. But they are so cute to look at!
