My firstborn son is going to be 4 tomorrow. Wow! Where has the time gone?! For his birthday we're just going to do cake and ice cream with the family, but this weekened we're taking him to the park in a neighboring town that has a kiddie train, kiddie roller coaster and a merry-go-round. (This is their website.) We plan on spending the day there. Tonight we took the family out for a pre-birthday dinner at a nice new Mexican restaurant.

This is my boy riding on the train last year (the date's wrong on the photo!)

party: :cake: :bday: Happy 4th Birthday!!! party: :cake: :bday:

My baby will be 6 on Monday!!!!

I always think that my kids birthday's are a little bittersweet!!! On one hand I feel such joy because of how much they have grown and become their own person and what they have accomplished throughout the year. Don't get me wrong I want that, but inevitably I end up crying at some point during the day  !! Because I hate that they are a whole year older and growing up SO quickly!!! Can't they just stay small forever???? I guess what always does me in when I think, __years ago today I was giving birth and he/she was so small and just starting their life and now look at how far they have come!!!!

Sorry for being such a depressing drama queen today!!!!

It's a little small but this clipart could have made a great addition to the segway shirts... to signify the absent DDA's laughing...

Make sure you book that Segway tour along with your airfare. ;)

How exciting for Kyle making his First Communion. We will be there in 2 years. I love watching all the little ones walk down the aisle in their suits and white dresses and veils. It's such a milestone for them. Congratulations.

I will, I will :sad2: !!!!!

I am really excited for Kyle's First Communion, it is such a big milestone I think!!! He is really looking forward to it, but Carli is extremely jealous!!! I am glad I have a son doing it first though because it seems like the girls are a lot more work and expense  , what else is new???? I swear I am going to be broke by the time April is over with, between Easter, a birthday, and First Communion!!!

To be quite honest with you, medical problems aside, I don't know how you worked to begin with, with triplets. You must be a very strong woman to put in the hours at work and then the hours at home. Yes, I do it too, but with only 2 kids, and a dh that helps out a great deal, and I barely have enough hours in the day. My hat is off to you.

My thoughts exactly! I really don't know how you do it.

Rees and you entire family are in my prayers. Glad to hear he made it through the night.

Maybe they would be good shirts, for those of you staying home to wear, on the day we do our ride!! :rotfl2:

Then you have to turn around and pay for your wax job, your tan, your mani/pedicure, the bar tab at Jellyrolls....:lmao:

I think I'm a candidate for worst mom of the day award. Lizzy lost her first top tooth last night and was SO excited. We have a special tooth fairy pillow she uses. She came in my room crying this morning that the tooth fairy didn't come.

Well, the last time she lost a tooth it was in the middle of the night and she left the tooth on my vanity. My DH went to wake her up that next morning and I heard her say the tooth fairy hadn't left anything so I put it on my vanity where the tooth was.

Last night I had put the $1 coin on my vanity but was wait for her to fall asleep before I put it in her room and then I forgot/fell asleep myself. So this morning when she came in crying I told her "maybe the tooth fairy left it where she did last time". We told her the tooth fairy must have been real busy and that since she lost the tooth so late in the day she wasn't really "on the schedule" so the tooth fairy didn't have time to search for the tooth. She seemed to accept this "explanation" fine.

That's a really cool idea - I could show him the sights of sunny Bristol, England... although it might cost an absolute fortune to ship him over and back... I'd love to do it though :goodvibes

Can mine go over to her first??? PLEEEEEEEAAAAASE!!! :rotfl2:

Dutch Meatloaf
1-1 1/2lb ground beef
1 cup bread crumbs
1 beaten egg
1 envelope Onion Soup Mix
1 8oz can tomato sauce
3/4 cup water
2T brown sugar
2T mustard
1T vinegar

Mix beef, crumbs, egg, onion soup mix and half of the can of tomato sauce. Shape into loaf in baking pan.
In a seperate bowl, mix the rest of the tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, mustard and vinegar. Pour over meatloaf. (I normally double this and cook the extra in a side pan in the oven, so I have "extra gravy" for the mashed potatoes.)
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours or until done, basting frequently.
What kind of mustard do you use? Yellow, brown, dijon?? I don't want to mess it up.

One more recipe...I tried this last summer at a baby shower and had never had it before. I was pleasantly suprised!
Broccoli Salad
2 bunches broccoli, cut into bite size pieces (raw), 10 slices cooked crumbled bacon, 1 medium julianned red onion, 1/3 cup raisins (optional).
Mix all above together and refidgerate.
In separate bowl, mix 1 cup real mayo, 2T cider vinegar, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2t. black pepper.
Mix into broccoli.
Toss in 1/2 cup toasted sunflower seeds right before serving.

If you don't want to mix the dressing yourself for this one....the bottled ColeSlaw dressing is just as good(sometimes better)....we also don't do bacon but put sunflower seeds in instead. Yummmmmmy!!

Poor Lizzy. At least you had the money out and available. Just think of the predicament you would be in if there was no money AT ALL!!!

My youngest loves choo choos as well! He is 1 1/2. Have you ever been to the Strausburg Railway? We love it there! We have never been there when Thomas was there though, but I know Jay would love it!!! We usually have lunch or dinner on the train - it is a very relaxing and peaceful ride! Watch out for that gift shop - your daughter will find another 10 things to sleep with! :rotfl: We have also gone to the "Amaizing Maize" while we were there - and boy, is that a lot harder than it looks!!! They also have a wonderful farm-oriented play/hands-on area for kids! Hope you have a wonderful time!!!
Shana

That sounds like a cool place. Where is that located?

Hi Everybody;

Just checking in, nothing much going on here just trying to keep going w/ this spring cleaning!!!! I am working on the basement now and it is going really slowly now, because it's harder to get down there during the day. Plus my allergies are killing me, and working in the basement isn't helping!!! I am SO excited the kids only have school today and tomorrow and then they are off Friday and all next week and I am off w/ them all next week  !!!!We SO need a break!!!!

Tonight I am off to have my hair cut and highlighted, I do not know what to do w/ my hair though :sad2: . I can't believe Easter is this Sunday, I have nothing done at all. I think it is because I have been mainly focusing on Kyle's First Communion.

I am going to book my airfare tonight!!!!

That's all for now, like I said not much going on here!!!

I'm sure that I will be posting a ton next week when we're off!!!

Have A Good Day Everybody!!!!

Julie :goodvibes

Julie -- have you tried using a mask when you are down in the basement? I have terrible allergies, and while that doesn't completely stop me from having problems, they seem not as bad when I wear it.

Congrats on booking your airfare soon.

Denise,
So glad to hear that Rees had a better night. Hope you were able to get some rest too! We will be praying that the Lord will give the doctor's the wisdom they need to make Rees feel better as quickly and as painlessly as possible! I hope your kids have a wonderful time at their Easter party!
Hugs, Shana

Will check back in later. I am headed out the door to get a few things I forgot for Passover Dinner tonight. And to hit the Disney store to look for an Eeyore for Emma's Easter basket. Just to clarify, DH is Jewish and I'm not so we celebrate both the Jewish holidays and the Christian ones. Don't get too chatty on me.

They have some adorable ones at the Disney Store....hopefully the stuffed animals will still be on sale. I got 2 for my girls baskets and they were $5 a piece!!
