Robyn - I doubt there will be leftovers with this one! Goes good with homemade mashed potatoes and green beans. (But what else would you have with meatloaf?!)

Dutch Meatloaf
1-1 1/2lb ground beef
1 cup bread crumbs
1 beaten egg
1 envelope Onion Soup Mix
1 8oz can tomato sauce
3/4 cup water
2T brown sugar
2T mustard
1T vinegar

Mix beef, crumbs, egg, onion soup mix and half of the can of tomato sauce. Shape into loaf in baking pan.
In a seperate bowl, mix the rest of the tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, mustard and vinegar. Pour over meatloaf. (I normally double this and cook the extra in a side pan in the oven, so I have "extra gravy" for the mashed potatoes.)
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours or until done, basting frequently.

Thanks for the recipe. I will definitely give this a try. It will have to wait until next week though as Passover starts tonight. I could easily subsitute use Matzo Meal and make sure all the other ingredients were kosher for Passover. The only one I am not sure on is the onion soup mix. I can't wait to try it. And yes, mashed potatoes and green bean are what we have with it as well.

One more recipe...I tried this last summer at a baby shower and had never had it before. I was pleasantly suprised!
Broccoli Salad
2 bunches broccoli, cut into bite size pieces (raw), 10 slices cooked crumbled bacon, 1 medium julianned red onion, 1/3 cup raisins (optional).
Mix all above together and refidgerate.
In separate bowl, mix 1 cup real mayo, 2T cider vinegar, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2t. black pepper.
Mix into broccoli.
Toss in 1/2 cup toasted sunflower seeds right before serving.

Oh My Goodness - ya'll do recipes too? :faint: Is there anything you don't do? - You guys are truly amazing! :worship:

Ksoehrlein - Glad they arn't the same person! But Bob's a keeper!
I forgot to tell everyone after our talk of rings the other night I had the weirdest dream. It's all this boards fault. It involved Disney, engagement rings, pearl shopping in Japan and the Haunted Mansion. As you can see, it was a weird dream. I woke up laughing. And yes, it was a sad laugh!
Is there a Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Tokyo? Maybe it was a premonition... quick get some brochures from the TA :goodvibes

:bday: My youngest turns 2 on the 13th. She loves choo choos. The park looks like a lot of fun. We are going to Strausburg Railway, in PA, in June as Thomas will be there. Molly sleeps with her Thomas Choo Choo among 10 other things every night. Enjoy the weekend!

We did the Strasburg Railway years ago when our DDs were younger. DH LOVED it! :rotfl: He still talks about that train ride. :goodvibes

Nope... there is nothing we can't do! We are the DDA! :cheer2:

By the way, :welcome: Shana! Glad you found us.

Has anyone listened to Sara Evan's albums?

After Kellie Pickler sang suds in the bucket on AI I downloaded Sara's latest two albums and they're really good - just thought I'd recommend them...

There's a funny story too, when DH heard suds he said it reminded him of a song we heard on our last trip, I asked him for more details, lyrics etc but he couldn't remember anything... so anyway I'm driving to work listening to Sara Evans for the first time and I hear this track, real fine place, and I realise I'm singing along... even though this is my first listen... I figure I must have heard in on tv but couldn't find anything on google, so I played it to DH... and it was the song from holiday!

If you've not heard her stuff before check it out :goodvibes:

:bday: to your son

and... for you. They DO grow up so fast.

Denise,
So glad to hear that Rees had a better night. Hope you were able to get some rest too! We will be praying that the Lord will give the doctor's the wisdom they need to make Rees feel better as quickly and as painlessly as possible! I hope your kids have a wonderful time at their Easter party!
Hugs, Shana

Oh sure, I'm actually around for once and the new girl grabs the milestone! ;) Way to go Shana!! :thumbsup2 I guess I should just be paying more attention in the future.

Will check back in later. I am headed out the door to get a few things I forgot for Passover Dinner tonight. And to hit the Disney store to look for an Eeyore for Emma's Easter basket. Just to clarify, DH is Jewish and I'm not so we celebrate both the Jewish holidays and the Christian ones. Don't get too chatty on me.

Hi Everybody;

Just checking in, nothing much going on here just trying to keep going w/ this spring cleaning!!!! I am working on the basement now and it is going really slowly now, because it's harder to get down there during the day. Plus my allergies are killing me, and working in the basement isn't helping!!! I am SO excited the kids only have school today and tomorrow and then they are off Friday and all next week and I am off w/ them all next week  !!!!We SO need a break!!!!

Tonight I am off to have my hair cut and highlighted, I do not know what to do w/ my hair though :sad2: . I can't believe Easter is this Sunday, I have nothing done at all. I think it is because I have been mainly focusing on Kyle's First Communion.

I am going to book my airfare tonight!!!!

That's all for now, like I said not much going on here!!!

I'm sure that I will be posting a ton next week when we're off!!!

Have A Good Day Everybody!!!!

Julie :goodvibes

Denise;

I just wanted to second everything everybody has said. I can't even imagine what you are going through, it is SO hard when you can't do anything to make your babies feel better, and I'm sure that the unknown is just as hard too!!! :grouphug:

You and your family is all in my thoughts and prayers!!! I am SO glad to hear that he had a good night last night and I bet he will have a wonderful time at the Easter Party today!!!

Haven't read anything this am. Good morning! On our way to school. Rees slept through the night. Said he feels better this am, but the first thing he asked me was to take him to the doctor to make his tummy feel better. I have a call in to the GI doc. I'll let you know when I find out any more details. Thanks again for all the prayers.
That's good news, Denise.

I was thinking, as I read through the posts this morning, isn't it funny (or more like amazing) how many of us slept restlessly last night, knowing one of our "family" was in distress? It just goes to show, when one of the DDA is in trouble, we all are. :goodvibes

Amy I am so sorry to here about Mickey :grouphug:

Denise Prayers for your family & Rees :grouphug:

Make sure you book that Segway tour along with your airfare. ;)

How exciting for Kyle making his First Communion. We will be there in 2 years. I love watching all the little ones walk down the aisle in their suits and white dresses and veils. It's such a milestone for them. Congratulations.

Shana - First let me say:

We are so glad you joined in. Where are you from? You will get to know us all soon enough and then you won't be able to tear yourself away from the computer.

Second, what's up with the new person stealing the milestone when we have veterans here that haven't claimed any??? I'm only kidding. :teeth: We are a sarcastic bunch, too. In case you haven't figured it out, we like to make a big deal out of it each time we turn another thousand posts.

:cheer2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY :cheer2:
