OK...I am behind...don't think I'll catch up..so what's the deal with Pal Mickey? Is he travelling all around? Can I still sign up??

I am going crazy...since Bill's dad died in Feb. his mother has been doing very poor (mentally). Every day there seems to be a new problem, delusion or paranoia to deal with. Some days I have a hard time dealing with it.

Kristine
I'm sorry Kristine. I know how this can be. I watched my mom go through it with my grandmother. It got so bad that they had to put her in an assisted living place. She was either going to fall and hurt herself or burn the house down. If I can help at all, please let me know.

Here's a recap of our history with this thread!

7/24: Kevin comes out of lurking and posts the design he made for our anniversary card...the very next post is a compliment from the woman who would be named "Queen"

7/26: I come out of lurking to clarify that the "designer" KMH1 is Kevin, not Amy.

7/31: Kevin makes a comment that he isn't ignoring Julia and Nick's Mom, he was just responding to posts backwards, and Kate throws out the first punch with "It's too late for apologies now!"

That's right people! Kate started our friendly insults and this was before we even met! :rotfl:

8/2: I respond to an "off-topic" character question.

8/5: I post about a t-shirt sale at Children's Place. This is the same day that Kate stood me up at the mall. Some story about Nick possibly swallowing her wedding ring... (he didn't! :teeth: )

8/11: I direct everyone to Kate's official birthday link (see I can be nice to Kate too!)

8/17: Kevin posts a design that I don't like and he and Kate engage in friendly (flirtatious!) banter...I still meet Kate at the mall the next day.

8/22: I officially begin making fun of Kate as often as I can...this crack had to do with her bragging about creating 193 custom designs.

10/30: I accidentally "get" post 9000...one that Kate had been trying to get. This led to a frenzy of off-topic posts, mostly between Jennifer and me (comparing Cincinnati to Cleveland). Becky chimes in and politely reminds us to stay on topic, as to not annoy other posters. :rotfl:

Amy :)

Ok, I think I have to go back and read all 22,000+ of the posts from the original thread now that I know everyone. This synopsis was just too funny.:rotfl:

One of my first posts was a design question. Kate came back with "LOOK A DESIGN QUESTION!!" which made me worried that I posted in the wrong place and had offended someone. That was before I really knew Kate and didn't realize she was being a smart aleck!!! At least I hope that is what it was! :rotfl:

Marti & Tammi..are you guys breaking in your shoes?? I can't tell you how many stares I get when I wear them

That is so cool that you have found a way to blend both traditions. Do you mind me asking what you do? I am not Jewish, but I love to expose my children to different religions, and traditions (in the hopes of making them a more well-rounded bunch of kids). I've wanted to try a Passover dinner, maybe for next year. Could you give me some hints? Anyone else is welcome to chime in as well!

Right now with our girls being young, 6 and 1 (at least until tomorrow!), we have just basically celebrated the Jewish holidays w/ DH's family and Easter, Christmas with mine. Our intention once Molly gets a little older is to still celebrate all the holidays but to have one year we will follow strictly the rules of Passover and then the next follow the Lenten season. We think this will work well for us. We have celebrated Hanukkah with 2 families as they were interested in learning a little more. This sounds so trivial but I really like having the 2 religions/traditions as we don't feel pressured to spend one holiday with both sides of the family. Now we enjoy each one separately and don't feel rushed or that I am choosing one side over another. If you are looking for more specific information let me know.

I'm waaaayyyyyy back there and trying to catch up. After being sick for so long I finally gave up and went to the doctor this morning. Lung infection and sinus infection.... so I now have amoxycillan. Should start to be better soon. I've missed all of you. I'm going back to catch up now. See you soon - it'll probably be like two weeks by the time I get caught up!!!!!
Glad you are feeling better Marti. Now if we could just get Skunka on here.....:rolleyes1

Well, if you don't like them staring at your feet, you could always flash your blue...

:lmao:

I have to be honest....I'm afraid :scared: to wear them out in public!!

Mostly just around the house. Are you noticing a difference since you've been wearing them a lot?

No problem! But it would have to be on Kate's laptop or something (or yours now!). Because, most likely, if you all pick it up.... it would make more sense for Kate to bring it to Cincinnati. ;)

Hi! When are we going to the mall? :wave2:

PM me your work/class schedule please! I can usually be showered and ready to leave the house by 11 a.m. and Alyssa doesn't crash for a nap until 2 p.m. or so. We could check out next week's weather predictions (cause they were so right about the rain today) and meet at the zoo instead of the mall...

Amy :)

ETA: Alyssa usually sleeps in until 8:30, but I can actually get up before her if you'd like to meet at the zoo closer to opening.

I'm all caught up (again). Denise, prayers and :grouphug: for Rees. That poor boy goes through so much! Midnite, glad to see you again. Marti - hope you feel better.

My first post on the old monster thread was #436 on July 17, 2005 at 5:06 p.m. I had "lurked" for awhile before then, and had read all the posts from the beginning.

Just so I don't get in trouble with the queen, I will remind everyone that I am leaving tomorrow for Virginia and won't be back until late Sunday night. I probably will not be on the computer that night, and have to work the next day, so the earliest that you might hear from me is Monday night. It will probably take me days to catch up again. I'll miss "chatting" with you all and keeping up with you all.

Have a happy Easter or Passover, as the case may be.

Drive safely and enjoy your much anticipated visit!

Heard from the GI doc. His regular nurse is out today. He is on-call in the hospital this week, but wants to see Rees Monday. I'm not happy about waiting that long. If Rees has another bad episode, I'll go to the ER so I can our doctor sooner and possibly get admitted. I hope he understands how bad it is, but I'll make sure he does Monday. Then we'll get the test and surgery. May be longer than what I want. Going the route of the ER may be our best alternative.

It makes me very angry that the medical system is the way it is. When Molly had reflux, and I was struggling to get her ped to diagnose her I called around to about 30 different GI doctors. This was in May, some of them did not have openings until November. For crying out loud, what was I supposed to, book an appointment when I was 2 months pregnant on the off chance I would need to see the specialist. And with our insurance we do not need a referral.

Do what you have to do to get him seen and if the ER is going to get you faster results than I would go that way. More :wizard: One can never have enough.

Jennifer - Is the I in your name clouds and the E cheerleading stuff? I was trying to figure them all out and wasn't sure about these.
