Absolutely do not buy a Gateway, 30+ service repairs papers and they wouldn't replace the whole system and the thing never worked properly. I wrote to main headquarters and opened a complaint with the better busineess bureau. It was so frustrating.
Whatever you buy get the longest most comprehensive warranty coverage you can get. Laptops are extremely expensive to repair. Simple repairs on a desktop might warrant a complete chasis replacement on a laptop. If the screen goes you are talking $600+. The more mobile you are going to use it all the more reason to get a good extended warranty.
Good luck to you in your decision.

We have the Sony Vaio and love it, I dropped it on the wood floor a couple of weeks ago and it survived, for work I have a dell and like that too.

My mom is making Easter dinner tonight, I can't wait! I don't really have anything else on the plate though (specifically) so more likely than not I'll be on and off all day
) that has all sorts of certain criteria -- no PMI, not taking deferred student loans into consideration (which is HUGE for residents whose loans are more than they'll make during their entire residency), little to no down but with a good rate still, etc. Basically a loan taking your future income/debt ratio into consideration rather than your current situation.
And we don't feel like we have a lot of time. God help any students moving out of their city, this is hard enough while staying IN town!
