I did use canned icing. I tinted it with Wilton's leaf green and put into the pastry bag with tip 18 and pulled out instead of making stars.

They're cute!

You can tell how far back by which post I answer!! :rotfl2:

Every time I think I have July figured out another something comes up.
Jim's Grandma passed away on Thursday. She was his spiritual compass growing up. That leaves him one Grandma living...this one is amazing!! I always tell people when I got married I found my soul mate and it wasn't Jim!! It's Grandma Hoo Hoo. We talked to Grandma on Friday and she told us that she will be going in for exploratory cancer surgery...which at her age(81) and condition could prove life threatening. She had called to say that she wanted us to know that she loved us if she didn't make it through the surgery. If she makes it through the surgery we will be heading toward Montana in July to spend time with her.

I have had enough of the awful cancer word this year I don't want anymore!!!

:grouphug: I'm so sorry! I know how horrible that it. We went through it last year with my mom. You'll all be in my prayers!

Can I get the recipe for the Daquiri Cupcakes too?

Strawberry Daiquiri Cake

Cake:
1 package of Supermoist White Cake Mix
3/4 cup water
1 package (0.14 oz) of strawberry Kool-aid mix (powder)
1 tablespoon grated lime peel
3/4 teaspoon rum extract
1 10 oz carton of frozen sliced strawberries, thawed and undrained.
3 eggs

Lime Frosting:
1 tub vanilla frosting (I like the pourable kind best)
2 teaspoons grated lime peel

1. Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom of 13x9 inch pan or line cupcake pan with liners. (will make 24 cupcakes)
2. In large bowl beat all cake ingredients with electic mixer on low for 30 seconds, then beat on medium speed for an additional 2 minutes scraping the bowl occasionally.
3. For cake cook 30-35 minutes. For cupcakes cook 18-25 minutes. Both are done when toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for 15 minutes before icing
4. Mix remaining 2 tablespoons of lime peel into icing and stir. It helps to heat the icing for about 20 seconds in the microwave first, and makes it easier to poor or spoon onto the cake.
5. Top with fresh, sliced strawberries.

Note: I put strawberries on the pieces I serve so the left over ones don't go bad. I also keep leftovers of this cake in the fridge, it keeps a lot better.

I left out the rum extract this time. My kids didn't like the flavor last time I tried it. It sure smells yummy!

Well, you know what they say about great minds thinking alike!!!!! If I had any energy left I'd make some tonight, but I'm pooped! And I still have to do Easter Bunny duty. Alan will stay up with me, but refuses to help load baskets. He will hide them though. Lucky me, huh?

Personally, I think the reason he agreed to stay up with me is that he wants some turtle time. He'd be more likely to get it if he helped me out, but I don't think that will happen. We'll see what he gets!

Not you too...............EEEEEEEEWWWWWW

I wish I could take credit for the strawberry daquiri cake, but I can't. I got it from a fellow DDA'er, but I can't remember who! Come on 'fess up! It's a yummy cake, and we love it! Thanks to whoever you are (and sorry, I can't remember who posted it first!)

Well, I'm off to do Bunny duty. See you all tomorrow!

Looks like I am part of the EEEEWWWW cult already and too scared to leave here till DH is asleep and he is still watching TV!!!

DH and I went to Boneheads tonight for dinner, it was yummy.
DD slep at our neighbour and DS was at another neighbour for dinner as he loves London's dad who does neat boy stuff with them.

Someone asked what we are doing for Easter tomorrow:

We will get up and go to church.....or hunt for eggs depends on when we all get up. Then come home and hunt for eggs and I will be making dinner for the 6 of us. Ham, potato salad(okay Grandma is making this one), broccoli salad, deviled eggs, veggie platter, jello, fruit salad. For dessert I made a Key Lime pie, I was going to do the strawberry daquiri cake but promised the girls I would make this instead...so easy hope it tastes good. I also picked up a Lemon Cooler cake. We will then probably spend what's left of the day watching a movie, playing games then off to bed for everybody but me. I ended up with a 4 day weekend without trying to hard!!

We are going to the Aquarium for a couple of hours and then to the Braves game, hope it's not too hot out.
Home for dinner and early to bed as the kids have testing this week so need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the mornings.

I am off to fill some eggs and to all my DDA friends:

Have an awesome Easter!!

and I hope Passover went well for those celebrating.

ETA: don't you think I should put him in my siggie?

I am soooo tired. We had a community egg hunt this morning and somehow I ended up doing face painting :confused3 . Came home for lunch then out grocery shopping. Got home and did some yard work before heading to work. After work I made an apple pie and jello beans for tomorrow. I started reading this thread, but it took me 2 hours to catch up. Had to take a break at one point to do bunny duty. I'm so glad to have everything done for today. DH and I had a couple of good arguments today too so that didn't help. I certainly hope that tomorrow is a better day. :wizard: :wizard:

Easter Plans: The kids will do their baskets in the morning. I have to start getting Easter dinner ready. My DM has the flu and she was planning to make most of our dinner, so now I'm doing the cooking. We will have an egg hunt early afternoon followed by Easter Dinner for 13. That is planned for 2 PM. I have to be at work by 4 PM :furious: I really didn't want to work, but I guess no one else did either so I get to do the second shift. I can't believe how many people eat out on holidays. We have a lot of reservations for tomorrow. Hopefully it will pass quickly.

I hope everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable Easter shared with family and friends.

Deb
