The dorm room at U of I had bunk beds, 2 tiny desks and a small chest of drawers, that's it. Bunkbeds?! I can't beleive that

Yeah, I don't know if you can see it, but there are 2 loft beds in there, that is a 2 person room.

OK, here is my trip down memory lane, talk about crying over kids who have grown up so quickly :sad1:

It really smells good in my house (well, mobile home) right now. My son and grandson, and son's friend love my meatballs and sauce, so last night Tanya and I (the granddaughter who's going to WDW with me in August) and I made 95 meatballs, and I put the sauce together. It's been cooking in the crockpot for hours now, and it smells wonderful. Daughter, granddaughters and I will have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tomorrow, and then I will freeze the rest and take it with me on the long-awaited very short trip to Norfolk to visit the rest of my family. Tomorrow it's baking oatmeal raisin cookies (grandson's favorite) and freezing them for the trip, then Wednesday night making pickle dip for son. We're leaving at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. I made a reservation at a motel in Delaware for Thursday night (it has an indoor pool so we can at least relax on the way down). Then we will finish the drive Friday morning and arrive early afternoon. Son doesn't get home from work until 8:30 p.m., but hopefully grandson will be off. If not, then we'll just go to VA Beach and walk the boardwalk for awhile! Then have to drive back on Sunday. I'll probably leave Norfolk around noon on Sunday and get home around 9:00 p.m. Darn work anyway. Retirement is looking better and better.

Yes, but you are much more intuitive than me when it comes to these shows! I want to read what you have to say first!

Congratulations on feeling like a new woman. Post a picture! :teeth:

I just sent you an email. I typed it quick so ignore any errors ;)

If I get my mom to take a picture of us tomorrow (when I actually try to style my hair and have makeup on) I might post. Depends on how it turns out :)

Thanks to everyone for the comment on my pic. John says it is the absolute best picture of me he's ever seen! He said I was so happy cause I was at Disney and had the biggest Diet Coke on the planet. He actually has that picture framed on his desk.

We talked tonight about my "addiction". I told him I wanted to start taking the kids for a few days each Spring Break or summer by myself (he doesn't get that much vacation time), and did he think that was ok. He said it was great 'cause they love Disney as much as me. So, I think I may upgrade our tickets to APs when we go in December. That way I could go back at the end of school for a couple of days and possibly squeeze in another trip in the fall/Christmas.
Wouldn't it be fun if all us mom's did a spring break trip with the kids? Unfortunately, we probably all have the break at different times.

yeah, I see that...but his dorm room was a set of bunkbeds...not lofts...the room was 8x8....felt like i was in a closet.

Kate,

The shampoo lady at the salon agrees with you. She says I'm having a girl because I look like I'm carrying high. I think it's too early to tell that (I am very round at the top, not so much at the bottom), but whatever. Just thought I'd let you know :)

ETA: She also fed me some horror stories about having your tubes tied and I didn't even have to ask for them :thumbsup2

What is pickle dip?

Have a fun and safe trip!

Pickle dip is a chip dip that my mother used to make. My son loves it.

There really isn't a recipe, but I can give you the approximates.

For a small batch:

8 oz. square cream cheese
2 pints sour cream
1 cup chopped bread and butter pickles
1/4 cup chopped onion
2-3 tablespoons pickle juice
salt to taste

cream cream cheese with 1/2 of one container sour cream with hand mixer. Add rest of that container and cream again. Then add the second container and mix well. Add pickles, onions, salt, pickle juice, stir to mix well. Let stand to blend flavors. Enjoy!

ETA: Double or triple to make larger batches. It disappears in my family, so I always make at least double.

I have great news!

1. I got my croc-knocks! Thanks Kate, they are great, but I think I might try the dryer thing too.

2. I got my golden eared Mickey antennae topper. Thank you so much Lindsay!! Do you need anything that you forgot to get when you were down there??? ;)

3. I bought a laptop and router today!!! I got a Sony Vaio and it should do everything that I want it to, mostly digital editing for home movies. I am so excited. :Pinkbounc I can't wait to get it hooked up so I can DIS wherever I want to! Please send me PD that everything goes right. I am not as technominded as a lot of you are.
