Hey Marti

Marti.gif

I hate to post and run (I'm late for Matt's school) but I had to say thank you to Kate - check out my new and improved signature. I've got to say - it's really cool. Thanks Kate!!!

Well that's an easy lesson...

Ok Marti - first you locate the box (have you stashed it in the attic?)

Then you undo the tape holding the lid shut

Lift the flaps

Lift out the machine - might need a hand from Paul to do this if there's lots of packaging holding it snug in the box

Put it on a table - and remove the packaging

Then locate the instructions... grab a dole whip float... put your feet up and read the instructions and then await Ellen's first lesson :rolleyes1:

See - she learns like I do!!!

Look at what Steffy just told me!!!!

I will be up for this!!! I might have to make sure I post at this exact moment even!!!

On Wednesday
at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning,

Thanks Steffy!!!!!

Wouldn't it happen again in the afternoon? I'd be much more likely to be awake for that :rotfl2:

That's awesome! :teeth:

:teeth: Kids are back in school!! Yea!

Tough morning though...it was hard getting back into the routine.

Off topic...has anyone seen the movie SAW? If so, I have a question for you.

WTG Jo :thumbsup2

You know if you have a lot of Disney stuff then ebay might be the way to go - as you could point us all to the auction, it's easier for us to look that way than drop by your yard sale!

Ya, I know.
I would have liked to meet some area Dis-members though.
Oh well maybe before I relocate.

Amy -- the pictures are all great! I really love the one of you all kissing alyssa, her and stitch, and the ones of you and kevin in front of the MK entrance! And your "Little Squirt on Board" shirt is adorable! :goodvibes

Tia -- prayers for you and your family at this time. It is so stressful to make decisions and big changes in life, especially with the issues you're facing. I pray that you can make a quick decision, and a peaceful one.

Julie -- we were at that opening day, too! What a weird day :sad2: When I went to CHCA I got tickets because I was friends with Carl IV. He's a couple of words I can't use here though (unlike his various namesakes) so we haven't been for about 2 years. Not that he would get all those tickets anymore anyway

Marti -- I definitely agree about the vitamins. Unless you're pregnant (which I am not ;) or acutely sick or something) then they really do help with energy levels! I recommend the one-a-day line.... very easy, and really all you need -- especially if you aren't taking anything as of yet! That is, unless you can swing Terry's massage-a-week treatment.... then I'd go with that! :teeth:

Kate -- any word about the events down the street? I hope the family is ok. Cute signatures, too! :)

Clare -- glad you're feeling a little better! Good for your DH looking out for you!

I'm off to rest a bit! Can't sleep a lot today though, so that I get a good night's sleep tomorrow, and my interview at Children's :scared1:

Just sending a  out and hoping the storms did not cause any damage near our DDA families.

our wind is howling and the weather radio is going off but no sirens!!

Julie - that sucks that you were there that year - it was so awful -

we used to go every year but since they moved to the smaller ballpark it is so hard to get tickets -

so next year - you can go with me - as long as we get tickets - Steve always wants to go with me - isn't that sweet! Last year was the best opening day ever - gorgeous weather and a walk off home run!!!

Steve wants to go to one of next weekends games to see Sean Casey - and I have to admit that as long as the weather is good I want to go - I love Sean Casey and cried the day he put the full page ad in the Enquirer thanking the city for embracing him - he is such a class act - I wish there were more ball players like him -he will always be one of my favorites -

and I will even root for him over the Reds - the only way you will EVER see me root for a Pittsburgh team!!!

I just want to go to A game! One the day tickets went on sale I couldn't even get in online to purchase tickets. The next day, everything but the 45-90 tickets were sold out. Now, I can opt to pay 50-60 for the $20 bleacher seats if I want to go through a ticket agency or ebay. Otherwise, I miss out on another season! (Couldn't get tickets last year either.)

Hi all,

I have a very busy week in front of me. My BIL is retiring from the Air Force Saturday and everyone will be coming to my house. I have to clean and rearrange things for the reception. I will need room for 30 plus people, so most of our toy area will need to be put away. My Sister should be down Friday night to help decorate and set up, but we shall see.

I am off tonight to pick up my mother from her trip to Ireland, not very excited about San Francisco traffic.:car:

I will be reading when I can to keep up, but I won’t have a lot of time to post.

NO MORE LURGY!!:sad2:

Everyone have a fabulous week.:yay:

Thank you doctor - I'll take two and call you in the morning....

but seriously folks... I'm going back to bed. See you tomorrow.

Feel better, Marti!! :wizard:

Good morning! Just stopping by to say a quick hi while Alyssa is watching Elmo's World...

Thank you so much for all the wonderful birthday wishes for her...your designs are all so cute! :goodvibes

And thank you for all the compliments on our pictures too! I know there's a lot of redundancy, but like Clare said, the CMs loved Alyssa and some of them went a little overboard. Good thing we purchased the CD and don't have to try to narrow down which ones to buy! :thumbsup2

So, now that our trip is over and the party's over, I guess my next project is to start cleaning the house! We do have a friend of the family who has expressed interest, but we're trying not to get our hopes up...yet! I know he has called a bank to find out his financing options, and we're hoping he and his wife will come see the house this week. We still have the termites, but obviously they're being treated, so hopefully they won't be turned off by that. Please keep your fingers crossed for us! :wizard:

I hope everyone has a great day! You all are the best! :grouphug:

Amy :)

Tia I would move near family. My DH and I moved out here from IA in the middle of my 2nd pregnancy for his business with my oldest only being 1 and a half. I had left all my friend I had for years and never made any friends here and it's been 7 years. I miss having anyone like my mom or sis to help with the kids so I could get away for a day. With DH working long hours I've often felt very alone, the depression every fall/winter (rainy season) doesn't help. :sad2: I think it helps to have friends and family nearby when you need it. Just a thought don't know if it helps. :confused3

It definitely help! Thanks. We lived in CA for about 10 months before I met ANYONE. However, when we joined two playgroups when Terra was 4mo and I made great friends. Unfortunately, that magic didn't strike twice with the playgroups in MA. Then work just made the situation worse. It would definitely be nice to have my mom or sisters available to watch Terra for a little while. I haven't been anywhere on my own outside of work since I got Phil to watch Terra while I went so see Fever Pitch (was that the Red Sox/Jimmy Fallon movie) over a year ago. I also really like the idea that all I would have to do is go pick up my niece and nephew and Terra would have friends to go to the zoo/park/wherever with. I think that is definitely our main leaning on the issue...now just to work out the job issue.

Thanks for the explanation - I was going to ask the same question too. We don't have any kind of weather sirens over here - when we do have "extreme" weather we usually just get warned its coming on the news. Luckily we don't have tornados very often.

Around here severe weather is often acompanied by power outages so your news wouldn't be much help!!! And in the middle of the night the sirens are helpful too!! We had a bad tornado come through several years ago and we still lived in an apartment and the sirens didn't go off - we were asleep and it sounded like a freight train was coming at us - I woke DH up and said that is a tornado - he said no and told me to go back to sleep - I told him to at least put the pillow over his head in case the roof collapsed :confused3 :rotfl2: like that would have done jack for us!!

Anyway the tornado literally turned 90 degrees 100 yards before our apartment! It was a pretty devastating tonado and destroyed a lot of houses and businesses - Amy did you live in your house then b/c I imagine it was pretty close to your house!! We were so lucky it turned!! We are pretty paranoid about tornados now!! The worst part after that was the constant helicopters hovering over for the next 2 weeks!! It was very upsetting to me - I felt like our whole community was on display!!

The sirens could also be used for civil defense reasons as well and eveyone would know to turn on their news! I just assumed they were everywhere -

they test them at noon on the first Wednesday of every month - you could call Amy at noon Wednesday if you want to hear them!! Mine are not close enough to give you the full effect!!! :thumbsup2

Wow that sounds scary! I'm so glad we don't have extreme weather around here.

I see you've changed your sig, it's very cute, I may have to try and make one...

Oh, mine are close enough! :sad2: They are about 300 feet (at most) over, as we live on the edge of a neighborhood.

That tornado was definitely scary! It destroyed Harpers and the Motgomery area, which included lots of friends houses and neighborhoods, and part of our schools! We did get off for about a week though!

Add that to growing up with my dad, who can still vividely remember "The Day of 100 Tornadoes" (maybe.... 1974? I should know, he talks about it each year :rotfl: ) when his entire neighborhood was leveled when something like 140 tornadoes came across Indiana, KY and Ohio..... and we're all really thankful for the sirens!

Kate -- you might know this with Steve having some past connections with homebuilders.... but they still build plenty of houses without basements around here!? We were SO surprised! :confused3
