Ok! I have not posted in a while. I have been in a kind of post-disney and don't know when I will ever get to go back mood. :sad2:

Now DH has agreed to go in Dec. :woohoo: :cheer2: That makes all of the difference in the World.

I know a lot of y'all are going in Dec. and kind of remember some discussion about avoiding PopWarner time. We really only have 2 choices of times to go Dec. 1 - Dec 6 or Dec 8 - Dec 13. I sounds like PopWarner will be during part of either of these times. Does anybody have any advice on what they are doing or which one they would choose?

Thanks! Now I can get back to making shirts! All of Triplefigs Christmas designs are the place to start!
:goofy:

Welcome back! YEAH!! Another trip to plan! So where are you staying...that is really the only real concern for Pop Warner?

We usually stay at AllStar movies because my DD's love the Toy Story rooms. We are considering renting DVC points after hearing the talk on this board. That would be one way to try out DVC. If I have figured it out right, it would be about $300 more. It just kinda scares me & seems like it might be complicated to figure renting points out. I guess that Pop Warner affects all of the value resorts. Does it affect the crowds at the parks?

Here's one I have been working on for Kyle to wear on the plane. It is inspired by one of MidNite's designs. I keep feeling like it is missing something- any suggestions? :confused3

We didn't really notice it at the parks as much as on the bus!

I very rarely found Pop Warner to affect the parks. There are some groups in the parks from time to time, but not enough to create big crowds. It is primarily the resorts. For values, I don't think that Pop Century has any groups stay there. At the All Stars, the Movies is last for groups because of it's popularity. I think that they tend to put the groups in Sports and Music first with some overflow to Movies. That said, we stayed at POR during Pop Warner one year and had no problem. We were only there because we had 5 people, otherwise we would have been at ASMovies. The food court was the only place I ever ran into more than a couple of kids at any one time. There, it would get crowded during breakfast, but that was the only problem really. I have also stayed at Movies during February cheerleader competitions and found the same thing...mostly just in the food courts.

If you go Dec 1-6, I think that you would be less affected by Pop Warner as they are probably just starting up during your stay. Either way, I think you'd be okay at Movies or Pop Century. Go for it and have a great time! If I were to swtich back to Dec from Oct (yes, I still debate it sometimes) I would be at ASMovies the second week of Dec without a doubt.

Wow I missed a lot today. I have an upper resp infection and got some meds, so I should be good as new in a day or two. Thanks for all the get well wishes.

Kate - I love the new designs.

Kristine - It looks like your kids had a great time, as well as your DH.;) I see you have your new ticker in your sig. :goodvibes

Cinderumbrella - You are becoming a great designer. I vote for the second one as well.

Theresa - Have fun tonight. Are they taping in Colorado??

Cindy - Congrats on the upcoming trip!! December is a wonderful time to go. We were there Nov 28 - Dec. 5 and didn't notice the teens at all. We stayed at WL. From what I hear, the values are full of the kids and they spill over into some of the mods. Renting points would be a great way to go, plus you get somewhere really nice to stay. The parks weren't crowded at all. Have fun planning!

I just got caught up from a couple of days off, and I'm sorry I didn't take notes...

:grouphug: and :wizard: to anyone who needs it.

Denise and family, you are in my thoughts as you and your family deal with such a tragic loss. :grouphug:

Marti and family, :grouphug: to you too, as you deal with the loss of a friend and work to help support the family.

We just returned from staying overnight in Niagara Falls. DS20 is home on spring break for a few days, so I decided we should try to do something fun while he was home. We went and stayed at the Embassy Suites overlooking the falls, and spent some time in the casino. We ate a few meals out, and went to Niagara on the Lake this afternoon. All in all it was a nice trip, and nice to spend some time with DS, rather than just going to work while he's home.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ellen

Does anyone have any good secrets for getting markers off of skin??? Nicholas and Alyssa decided to color their palms, as well as the inside of their fingers today, with what is supposed to be washable markers. Needless to say, it isn't coming off.

Have you tried rubbing alcohol or baby oil? Otherwise, I think time might be the only help. :confused3

Edited to add: I did a search, and toothpaste and baby wipes are also recommended.

I'm so happy!!!! We might be going next month to WDW! :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

It depends on if this big job we're in the middle of pays us in time to do it. I'm so excited! I haven't been in two years and my DS2 hasn't ever been (unless you count when I was expecting him). My DS3 doesn't remember much from the two times he's been at 9 months and abt. 18 months. My DD10 has been about 10 times ....

Our plan stands like this for the moment:

Drive down (13-14 hours depending on stops) and stay offsite for two nights to recover from the drive, relax, and do DTD. Then we check into the Cabins at FTW for 7 nights. Oh the planning I have to do! And I loooooooove the planning. :cloud9:

So guess what I have to start doing now!? Making shirt designs!!

So, anyone have any suggestions or tips for us?

I'm so thrilled. Gosh I hope they pay us on time or it'll be September before we can make it.

Maybe try a little nail polish remover. I'd try a very small spot before doing it all, though.

Tammi -- Hope you get to feeling better with the meds.

Kate (and Julia) & Kristin -- GREAT new designs... LOVE 'EM!

MidNite -- How exciting to plan an unexpected trip. Have fun :)

I've already tried the nail polish remover. Didn't work. If I find some baby oil I will try that. Then I'm going with the toothpaste, but I think I'm all outta baby wipes.

MidNite - When would you be going? Would it be while Kate, Marti, Kristine and I are there? How exciting to get an unexpected trip!! Oh the fun you will have with your kids, especially since it will be all new to the younger ones.

I also drive a Durango which DH picked out - then he came home with a BMW cabriolet for me to test drive and told me he wanted to but it for me, I said I was way too old to have to get on my haunches to get in and out of a car!!! He then bought a H2 I think they are really ugly and forbid him to buy a yellow one as I was not going to wear sunglasses every time I walk out my house. They drive well and he loves it. I have now decided to drive my car till it falls apart and the kids are older and then I will get myself what I want - he will just pay for it :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Men and there toys!!!!!

I hear you!!! I am gunning for the Mercedes myself, but I fear the HUMMER may win out...

If Pop Warner follows previous years, it should be the 2nd-9th. Either way, if you are not staying at a value or POR you should be fine! Congrats on the new trip!!!!!!!!!!!
